Title: RussianRoulette Poetry/Song thread
Post by: themovieaddict.com on September 13, 2006, 05:09:56 PM
When I look outside
Sometimes I feel lonely
When I see all the happy people
Having fun and laughing
So I lock myself away
And sit through all the pain
And once again my only way of healing
Is you

[Chorus]

Oh, oh
You're awesome
Yeah, yeah
You're awesome
The way you look, the way you move
I'm not ashamed to say it dude
You're awesome
And you're cool
Oh, with me
Yeah, yeah, yeah

[guitar solo 1]

So yesterday
We had a fight
And now we ain't talkin'
I'm lying here
Thinking 'bout you again
And as I cry
My tears flow softly
Because I know without
Your awesomeness in my life
I'm nothing!

[huge guitar solo]

[Chorus repeat]

You, you, you
Oh baby you, you, you
Oh, you're awesome
And that's cool with me
Dude, you're awesome
Everything you do
The way you are
Is fine with me
'Cause you're awesome
And that's chill for me

I don't often write songs about people, they usually have to effect me in a very big way first. Brad Pitt has given me "tingly feelings" for years and I feel special when I see pictures of him, sometimes I don't know what these feelings are but they make my body do strange things, so I thought a song would help me express that. I just think he's awesome!

Here's a story I wrote about Brad a couple years ago, it was during my sexual awakening, and it inspired some of the lyrics to this song.

I don't like that word much. I prefer "open-minded."

(Inspired by the sounds of Justin Timberlake's new single, "Sexyback")

You think you're sexy now
Your leather jacket oh
It makes me touch myself
You make me want it all
(T-t-t-touch it)

You know you've got it all
All inside those tighty-whites,
Those leather sticky pants
You make me touch-

You're bringing guitar back
You sexy sexy man
You're bringing sexy back
(W-w-w-what?)
Oh-oh-oh-yeah

I see you looking at me
I know you want me want me
To choose from all you have would be
The greatest crime of
(what)
Ohhhhh

It's just a
It's just a
It's just a Slash Attack
I love that Slashy Man
He drinks those slushies DAMN
That little Slashy Man

Oh, oh
ohoh
Whoaa
WOO

[Slash guitar solo]

And I'm falling to pieces
Every time I see you now
You make me slither baby
I feel like you're an alien
That I'm loving, whoa
So come on set me free
I'm such a sucker for
Your train collection, they give me
They give me the blues
Oh, whoa
So come on hit me now
You Slashy Slashy man
You sexy sexy gui-
(what)

Forget Axl. It's about time for Dane Cook to make his singing debut.

If it's okay with the mods I'm going to start a thread wherein I shall post my own poetry. I figured it may be easier to make a thread rather than post a new one every time I write something new. My poetry is serious so this isn't a joke, I really do want to post stuff here for feedback.

I don't mean to clog up the forum, I am just interested in hearing some thoughts on my writing. I don't know if it's any good, I don't know much about poetry. I just write what I like.

I will start with a poem I wrote a little while ago:

Ab Imo Pectore

1.

She sat alone on the crimson shore
Even at such an early age
She had an understanding of faith
Her hair swayed softly at the touch
of the light breeze,
which coaxed her gently
into deep submission.

2.

Like shattered panes of glass
My memories have come to pass
And now lay in shards on the floor,
Impossible to restore;
And I can't afford
to replace the mirror anymore
I find myself asking what it's for
When all I ever do to it is ignore.

3.

Misery never fails to interject
When all that's left is bitterness
Because then like the green moss
It has a place to grow
Your pain is its bright orb.
Your smile is its killer.

4.

There doesn't seem to be much sense in you
In the way you feign accolade you bestow upon others
All the while your heart consumed by hate,
The way you curse and blame
By releasing all your rage.
But that's your way,
and I guess some things just never change.
Never change.

THE DISTANT SHORE

When I see her face,
And when I understand the pain,
And when there is nothing left to gain
Life evades me once again,
Flowing by to the other side
On the distant shore
Where it thrives
The moonlight bathing its lucidity
In an effervescent glow
Outlining its evil in ghostlike ways
Its deadly image coupled by devil howls
Taunting me
From the other side.
On the distant shore.
The place I shall never find.

URBAN SPRAWL

Silent regeneration of lost hope
Penetrates the urban sprawl,
Where the devils deal;
Their glistening jowels
Reflecting in the eyes of the new
Who have yet to see the rest.
Wolf-beasts roam in search of prey,
To them it is just a daily game.
They take the form of human flesh
Their arms outstretched
The cash is cold to the touch,
They take it with a smile.
The women are vampires
ready to thirst.
The frail do not last here.
But it's where she lives.
Twenty-four years, now.
Gotta wonder how.
But it's where the light is beginning to
pierce the gray sky.
It's where the demons are fleeing and
where the satyrs are disappearing
back into the corners of the polluted souls.
The mind is a silver bullet
The heart is the gun.

PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE

It started because of a bike
you know the type
with the two wheels
the little high seat.

He was a clown
I don't know why he wanted the damn thing
Frankly we always thought he was gay.
The other boys in school would taunt him
I didn't mind, though
Gay didn't make much of a difference to me
Because I thought his voice was interesting.

He lived with his mother till he was 34
His mother died in a fire in the kitchen.
She was cooking him a stew.
Guess she was too old to have seen the burning fondue.

It was a real pity
When that other kid
Took his bike,
Never thought he would have pulled that gun.

But you know when you live a life
of isolation
And everyone says things
Behind your back
There's always room for actions unsound.

It's safe to say
No one ever tried to take anything from him
again.

They came in a van
Pulled up fast
He dropped the gun
They grabbed him and he was gone.

He's locked away, now.
Of course, they moved him to one of those hospitals.
You know the kind
With the security guards.
That kid grew into a man
And now that man is without a bike
And booked for life.

KID WITH THE ICE CREAM CONE

He had a frail face;
One of those faces that
Looked kind of dim but
There was a flicker in his eye;
It betrayed whatever else was missing.

Every day he would stand at the bus stop
And wait for the ice cream man
Who made his rounds there
After school
Knowing the children would be there.

It was a warm Autumn afternoon
And I suppose perhaps all the other children
Were busy inside.

He stood alone on the sidewalk
With a dollar in his hand
Outstretched for the ice cream man.

But that day the ice cream man never showed up
He was too busy boinking the neighbor's daughter.
(They locked him away five years later;
It seems the daughter developed a guilt complex)

Instead that day another guy showed up
He was big and dark,
Not his skin of course (I'm no racist)
But his attitude or...
Something was just amiss.

And he stopped his car there by the side of the road
And walked up to the little boy with the dollar.

The stranger was wearing a long coat,
It was black.
He smiled at the kid with the buck,
And the kid - who was never too bright - smiled back.

The car engine started
And in a flash the pavement was clear.

Yep, it's safe to say
The kid didn't get any ice cream that day.
But twenty years later when he was all grown up
He found that dark, tall stranger again.

The stranger was living in a scum-filled apartment in the Bronx.
The kid had found a picture in the paper.
The stranger was a cop, he'd been shot on duty at 56. Front-page story.
He was a hero, in his flat recovering.
He had a real clean record.
Couldn't say the same for his conscience.

Well that little boy
Who was no longer little
Went to go pay a visit to his old friend.
And it's safe to say
The stranger didn't get any ice cream that day either.
But he wound up in the paper once again the next day -
Except this time it wasn't for taking a bullet on duty.
He hadn't earned any medals of bravery.
Instead, it was for taking a bullet somewhere unpleasant.
They couldn't really show it in the news
But everyone knew.

Well they locked away the ice cream boy
But people had sympathy for him.
Said he had been through so much.
Said the stranger had deserved it.

They told me he's getting out on bail in five days.
Frankly the whole story just makes me want some damn ice cream.

I don't like poetry.

I've done some lyrics but poetry is boring and a little gay  :hihi:

Since I don't know anything about poetry I'm not going to embarass myself with trying to analyse anything.

Why would anyone wait for the ice cream man at the bus stop?

Actually I like that one. "Kid with the ice cream cone".

While I give you credit this thread isn't nearly as laughable as some of your other posts (Brad Pitt song, Slash song, The Blues), and the Ice Cream Man does have moments of mediocrity, possibly even being good, I have to question the following line

But that day the ice cream man never showed up
He was too busy boinking the neighbor's daughter.

:-\? :hihi:? Doesn't sound very poetic now does it??

simple, you can do lyrics to a rock song.

Poetry is like what you forced your kids do in medieval times for guests for entertainment

MISSION: IMPROBABLE

They said you had it all
The smile, the looks, the charm
But baby they were wrong
And then they left you on your own

Oh Tommy boy
Whoa whoa, yeah
Looks like they cut the cord
Tommy boy
Whoa, oh
Paramount dumped you
I bet that smarts
Whoa, oh!
Now Mission: Impossible is really impossible
Oh, whoa
'Cause you ain't gonna be in it anymore

I can't believe this happened
I thought we were going to be together forever
I thought you'd one day rescue me
From Philiiiip Seymour Hoffman
But now they've killed you off
The $100 million contract is over
And I think I could just go cry
For hours and hours
Tommy baby I've always loved you
Even when you were in those awful movies
I've always thought that you were mega
Mega, mega hottie

My heart broke in two
When I saw your name in the news
Until I realized you had been replaced
With hunkalicious Brad Pitt

Whoa, oh
Tommy boy move outta the way
Whoa, oh
Brad's comin' baby to save the day!
Whoa, oh oh
Tommy you suck, I was lying before
Whoa, oh
I never loved you
Now get the hell outta my heart

Brad Piiiit
You are awesome
And you are now
Ethan Huuuunt
Whoa, oh
Brad Pitt's gonna be the one to save the day
Whoa, oh
Paramount thought Cruise was just too gay
Whoa, oh
Brad Pitt I said it before
And I'll say it again
Whoa, oh
You're awesome, dude

Angelina Jolie
Is a lucky bitch
I want to take her place
Maybe...some day
It will happen

Until then I'll just watch
The scene in Thelma and Louise when you take off your shirt
And imagine you as Ethan Hunt
In Mission Impossible 4

Oh, whoa
Tommy boy get outta the way
Oh, whoa
MI4 ain't gonna be yours today
Whoa, oh
Brad Pitt took over he's gonna kick some ass
Whoa, oh
And when he's done I'm gonna grab his and squeeze it

[guitar solo]

Ethan
Listen to me Ethan
You were a cool character
While it lasted
But Tom Cruise
He fucked you over
[oh, whoa]
Oh baby you'll be back some day
Even if it means having to say you're gay
But hey, that's okay
'Cause until then
We've got Mr. Pitt to reel us in

Brad Piiiit
You are awesome
And you are now
Ethan Huuuunt
Whoa, oh
Brad Pitt's gonna be the one to save the day
Whoa, oh
Paramount thought Cruise was just too gay
Whoa, oh
Brad Pitt I said it before
And I'll say it again
Whoa, oh
You're awesome, dude
And I want to make love
To you

[guitar outro]

I can't resist posting some more...people who don't like 'em, don't read 'em!

CRUISING FOR TOM CRUISE

Well it's late at night
I'm driving home
I'm so alone
No one calls me on the phone
I feel I'm growing so damn old
I don't know what's right or wrong

Sometimes I wonder why
My friends always have to say goodbye
I only wanted some kinky sex
They got real offended by that

When I asked them if they'd oblige
To please me orally for a five
They kicked me out of the flat
Bob punched me in the 'nads
Ricky tried to kick my ass
Too bad he fell on that tack

So now I'm driving down this road
And I'm looking for a ho
When I see that lovely face
On the billboard plastered tall

It reminds me of a place
A very special time of my life
When I used to sit and smile
Enjoy life without denial

It was you, oh you
It was you Tom Cruise
And suddenly I see
Everything the way it's meant to be

So I go cruisin' for a Cruise
I'm looking for Mr. Cruise
I'm cruising for Tom Cruise
I want to take you from your crew
I want to buy you a Mountain Dew
I want to take you on a ride
I want to show you how to fly
I want to be there when you're high
I want to be the one that makes you smile

I'm cruising for a Cruise
Katie Holmes, she is so rude
She had a restraining order put on me
She said she caught me trying to catch a peek
But she was just so dumb
She didn't realize I was just looking for Tom

I'm cruising for a Cruise
I want to take you on a ride
I want to be there when you smile
I want to see you one more time
Mr. Cruise
Oh,
Oh
Mr.
Mr.
Mr.
I'm sayin' Mr.
Mr. Cruise

I love youuuu

MANDY

Mandy, Mandy, when will those clouds all disappear?
Mandy, Mandy, where will it lead us from here?
With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
But Mandy, Mandy, you can't say we never tried
Mandy, you're (perhaps) beautiful, but ain't it time we said good-bye?
Mandy, I still love you, remember all those nights we cried?
All the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear:
Mandy, Mandy, where will it lead us from here?

Oh, Mandy don't you weep, all your kisses still taste sweet
I hate that sadness in your eyes
But Mandy, Mandy, ain't it time we said good-bye?
With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
But Mandy, I still love you, baby
Ev'rywhere I look I see your eyes
There ain't a woman that comes close to you
Come on Baby, dry your eyes
But Mandy, Mandy, ain't it good to be alive?
Mandy, Mandy, they can't say we never tried

in all honesty, he shuld be banned cuz he does not contribute at all to the board but makes alot of pointless threads, and gets people mad, and has a bad sense of humor, that he just repeats in every post. but i guess thats up to the mods not us

I've posted a good deal about GN'R and not made any pointless threads recently, look at my posting history EFISH.

For what? I never said the song was about you. A bit assumptive, aren't we??

When did I say anything about the song? I was talking about the scary Axl photo.
A bit assumptive, aren't we? ?

That was honestly a mistake, I was trying to copy another picture and I must not have hit CTRL+C. That photo had been on my copy clipboard last.

Your posting history just confirms that you have no life at all... I mean, 44 posts per day? ?:o
You're in a serious need of a man.........

And I was a member of HTGTH with my other account for a year and only had 400 posts up until last month.

So with this account it puts me at 760 posts. Wow, that's a lot for a year considering you have nearly 2,000.  ::)

I don't give a hot shit about your other account. You have 44 per day in this one and that's ridiculous. ?
Do the Math now... I'm here for nearly 2 years, so it really isn't that many posts, is it sunshine? ?: ok:

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Thanks for a good laugh. ?:-*

No, I signed up a year ago, made 400 posts, and posted 200 in the last month and 100 with this account. If you think my posts are stupid, it's very simple - don't read them. But I didn't start the IRS thread and haven't started many today at all except for the one about sunglasses in the appropriate forum. And I don't think someone who spends as much time focusing on GN'R as you do should be accusing someone else of replying to "anything." I post about what I'm interested in. If everyone had the same taste the world would be a boring place. Don't like my posts? Don't read 'em. It's real easy. As I said, I haven't started many threads, and I mostly reply to other topics.

My other account matters when that's what I used for a year. It's not like I signed up and quit using it. I have posted 100 with this one because I'm out sick and bored. I didn't abandon HTGTH for a year and suddenly decide to start posting here nonstop, I used it regularly for an entire YEAR and only posted about 400 - 500 in that entire time.

I didn't realize we were fighting, I thought it was called having a conversation on a message board.

If you want to flip out send me a message. I don't see what the big deal is, I've barely posted anything at all today. I posted the Mandy lyrics because Mandy dissed me in another thread, it was a simple joke and it was a reply to a thread I started before and I already told you and Mandy you could ignore if you wanted to. I posted serious poetry in this thread, too, so it's not like I use it to bait people into arguments. Yeah, I post fake lyrics - I also post serious stuff, and if you don't like any of my work then just ignore it as I said before.

Hold on... Before going to bed, I feel like I need to post a little song for you too ? :

Girl Like You

I love you (less)
I think of how much we've grown (apart)
Of all the things we've gone through (my money)
You know how I feel about you (bitch)

I need you (gone)
Deep in my heart (like an injection of porkfat)
All that I have (you take)
Is for you (to chew up and spit out like the filthy slut you are)

Oh, what have I done
(What did I do)
To deserve a girl
Like you, like you

Oh, to deserve a girl
Like you, like you
I tore myself in two

I want you (out)
My whole world (sucks)
Is about you (getting free lunch)
Without you (screwin' thing up)
There's nothing (but pleasure)
For me (you swine)

Oh, what have I done
(What did I do)
To deserve a girl
Like you, like you

Oh, to deserve a girl
Like you, like you
I tore myself in two

I love you (bitch)
More than you'll ever know (bitch)
I wish I could show you (bitch)
How much you mean to me (B-B-B-Bumblefoot)

Oh, what have I done
(What did I do)
To deserve a girl
Like you, like you

Oh, to deserve a girl
Like you, like you
I tore myself in two

(oh, baby? you know? ya know?
ya know I just can't live without you?
I LOVE YOU!!! I'll kill you?)

Like a dream come true (a nightmare)
It's all about you (Satan)

Yeah, but he's still a part of me.  :-[

 :hihi:

Seriously though, if you still want my MySpace (trusting you won't send it to loads of people or something) I'll give it to you, you'll see I'm pretty normal, as I said I've just been feeling ill lately and had time off; I also began posting here because of GN'R playing the US and I wanted to check for tour updates, etc. Usually I only post a few times a week, if that. I had the other account for a year and viewed the boards a lot without responding to "anything" as you said before.
