Title: Chinese Democracy: The Album
Post by: TVC15 on September 30, 2006, 06:12:06 PM
Axl said 13 tracks will be on the album. I've been so excited about finally having high quaity studio versions of the 6 or 7 tracks we've heard so far that I almost forgot that their are 6 or 7 other tracks we have not even heard yet.

 ;D

I'm assuming a few of them will be singles. Has the band mentioned the titles of any of these other tracks? I'm hoping they throw the new single on iTunes before the tour begins on October 20th...

The funny thing is, I would always make fun of fans who were *so* into a band that they would do something like take off work for an album, a ticket, etc. ?Now, after the wait, the anticipation, hearing the leaks, seeing Guns in NYC this year - there is no question that I'm going to spend the whole day taking in Chinese Democracy when it's released. ?It's no longer "how could I take off work?," but "how could I *not* take off work?"

I'll be getting it on the Friday before it comes out because my local record shop sells new cds behind the counter as soon as he gets them in.  So I'll have it a full 4 days before all of you (HOPEFULLY!)!

I'll be listening to it nonstop that weekend.  woot. :P

With its new intro, I think "Chinese Democracy" would be an awesome album opener.

I was just going to post that...Watching the awesome uk comp dvd now (fantastic effort), and feeling the symphonic atmostphere in the intro, I am gonna go on record and say that CD is the opener.

Hell yeah it would. It would be just like that part at the beginning of Pearl Jam's Ten. End the album with that too.

The opener will probably be something that we haven't heard before.. if it's something we've heard, it'd be CD.

6) Madagascar
7) IRS
8) Rhiad and the Bedouins
9) Thyme

12) The Blues
13) TWAT

Ok, Mr. Mysteron2, just one question: why??
It was listed along with TWAT and Used To Love Her as an option on GNR setlist for the South California shows. Doesn't make sense to play a new song that is not on this 1st album.

I love all the predictions and i really cannot wait, I dont believe the birth of my first child will be anything on the excitement and anticipation I'm feeling (ok slight exageration). But you guys missed 'catcher in the rye' from your predictions? I think that song has so much potential and I'd love to hear a studio version ;D

Didn't someone once say it might be a double or triple album?  I DO remember someone saying there was 26 out of 32(?) songs done...  I'm pretty sure it's not going to be just 12 or 13 songs on this album, and if it is, I think there'll be another album coming out shortly after Chinese Democracy.  : ok:

I really think that CD will be the first song on the album, judging only by the new live intro.

1 - Better (that guitar intro just sounds like a good way to open an album).
2 - General
3 - Chinese Democracy
4 - I.R.S
5 - Madagascar
6 - Catcher In The Rye
7 - Prostitute
8 - Leave Me Alone
9 - Oklahoma
10 - The Blues
11 - Seven
12 - Thyme
13 - There Was A Time

I think every one of those songs we haven't heard yet will be heavy rock songs (mainly because Madagascar, CITR, The Blues and TWAT are all ballady, and I don't see there being any more of that kind on there).

And I think Riyadh & The Bedouins and Silkworms, as well as a re-recorded Oh My God will eventually be released as B-sides (or bonus tracks). ?They may do some covers for B-sides, too... *dreams of hearing a studio recording of their version of Sailing*

According to Wikipedia, Richard Fortus confirmed that Catcher In The Rye would be on there.  I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source in the world, but still... if it's not on there, no major loss.
I believe that Axl did say he's not sure whether or not Brian May's parts will remain on the finished product.

Didnt Axl say it wouldnt be? During the interview with the radio station (cant remember which one)

if it is then hopefully its been redone a bit, its a brilliant song, ive just listened to it too many times.

I think IRS would be a good album opener.

Richard emailed me that CITR WOULD be on the album. It better fuckin' be. That's about the best Guns N' Roses song I ever heard. Now THAT does live up to the hype.
