GNR songs have been being played during the Fox broadcast baseball games for years, ever since Fox started with baseball. Mainly WTTJ, PC & SCOM get played here and there. Although I remember Yesterdays getting played during a Cubs pre-game show once.


He said that, because at the time Piazza was the Mets catcher. The Mets... the sworn National League enemy of the Yankees in NYC.

Old GNR songs have been played at sporting events for YEARS! Jungle is played every few seconds at an NFL or NBA game, and probably baseball as well.

If Better, CD, or some other new song gets played at one of these events, then its news worthy.

An AFD song playing somewhere isn't newsworthy.

That and other reasons is why this band is not really Guns N' Roses.     ::)

It's a different thing, for me, it's always nice to hear old songs played in front a lot of people.   :peace:

Hearing a GNR song at a sporting event is like hearing The National Anthem at a sporting event. It isnt that special. Stop over reacting.

Did anyone catch the Patriots/Bengals game on Sunday?  They played Welcome to the Jungle coming out of a commercial and cut to Jim Nantz who said, "That tune is called Welcome to the Jungle."  Or something to that effect.  It just seemed way out of left field.  Nantz acting like a DJ during a nationally televised football game.  It was ridiculous.

I am thinking that during the World Series they'll play the apparent new single that GNR should be releasing at that point...

watch game 2 mets dodgers...during tom glavines warmup routine in the top of the 1st inning they will play sweet child o mine..which glavine always has played before every mets game he pitches

Interesting theory, that would be cool. But it's highly doubtful, W.S. usually takes place the last two weeks of October, that's about Oct. 23rd -31st, right smack in the beginning of their tour.


Aside from that, this thread is useless. James Lofton is right, GnR is played at EVERY sports game, there's nothing prophetic about this.


It was cool during the Eagles game seeing a black guy rocking out to it sitting next to a long haired white guy rocking out to it too. Just thought that was cool.
