Title: My nitpicking gripe...PROBABLY gonna piss people off...sorry...
Post by: McGann on December 14, 2006, 09:51:01 AM
Prepare to get pissed.
I don't want to hurt feelings,
But I've had enough!

The word's "PROBABLY"!
It's not "prolly" or "probly"
Neither "proberbly".

It's "PROBABLY", folks!
It's a form of "probable"
From Latin "probare".

I apologize
Just in case your first language
May not be English

But if it's your first,
There is simply no excuse
Except public school!

To sum up: pleeze lern
Two spel werds rite inn Inglesh
If itt's yore ferst tung.   :P :-*

I think the reason most people does it is because of text messaging. I know when I'm texting someone and i need to say probably, I always use prolly cause it's faster. So it's a habbit now, I sometimes even use it when I'm talking. Its a horrible habbit, but it's not easy to stop.

Exactly... I know it's PROBABLY, but I usually write "prolly" on the internet. It's simply because it's faster.

Is a habbit anything like a hobbit?  Or maybe like a rabbit?

Oh wait, maybe you meant "habit".   ;)

I've never claimed I was a good speller  :P

People who substitute "prolly" for "probably" should be drawn and quartered.

Don't get me started on the illiterates who use "their" in place of "they're."

Aye!
Don't forget to include "there" in your post.
And "you're" in place of "your".

:puke:

The sad part is that people who usually post these have English as their first language. Otherwise it'd be totally understandable.

Nah. 'You're' is a composite word, 'your' is not. It isn't understandable, what's not to get, even if it is funny words to your tongue? Basic structure transcends foreign word confusion.

You can't expect a non-English speaker to know everything. Most of them are still learning (as we all are, I believe. But you know what I meant).

What is brown sugar?
Well, some say it's the substance
that caused the big bang
to, well, you know, BANG real big,
all critical mass like.

Me, I lean towards
something more along the lines
of a Nubian
MILF. But only because of
that motherfucker, Garry.

You see, he once told
a story of sexual
exploits, so full of
sexual exploitation,
that I almost shit my pants.

The rest is just a
jumble of pussy jokes and
abstruse Paul Bunyan
comments that would probably
bore you half to death.

So I'll stop now.

Just please refrain from giving me pointers. Instead, try to enjoy some brown sugar once in a while. It's the #1 choice of Canada's dentists. Seriously.

i always thought brown sugar was a rolling stones song personally.

Well that's just it, don't you see? Brown sugar is something different to each and every one of us. For some it's ugly, torturous, straight from the depths of Hell. For others, a sensation dropped from God.

For me it's a used birth canal with a dark-skinned female body attached to it. For you, it's a tune.

Spread the word.
