Title: Paul Huge
Post by: Lucky on February 12, 2007, 08:10:01 PM
ok, what in the world ever happened to the guy?!!!

is he in, is he out, and how come none of you so called interviewers never asked a thing about him?

He's the man who "saved GNR" for crying out loud. how come no one is interested in him?

and will/should his parts stay on the album? Since obviously he helped write many of them.

He was there when Axl needed him and he chose not to live the high profile rock star life. So Axl respected that and brought in Richard.

high profile? GNR?
are you kidding me?

I've seen figments of imagination with higher profile than certain band members :D

and that ship sailed long before huge joined the band.
it was just an excuse for slash.
he left years after Huge joined the band.

He didn't like performing in front of very large audiences.

Maybe high profile is a relative term, but Huge knew he was going to be playing bigger places than 500 seaters with GNR.

Cool thread bro. I was just talkin about Tobias yesterday. I definitely hope Tobias's parts stay on the album. He and Buckethead's solos will def be missed should they decide to go w/ the other guys. But again, ?cool thread and here's to hoping we hear him rockin out on Democracy. ? ?:peace:

I shake my head thinking how we lost Tobias, Bucket, and Freese. ?

Because he played like 4 shows with Guns. Even tho he was there for a while I dont think he is Guest appearence worthy.

Well, he's on the leaked demos, and possibly on the finished versions as well, although I doubt that. I imagine he has an infrequent hand in song writing, but I'm just speculating.

for a guy that most likely helped compose/write "Blues" "Madagascar" "IRS" "TWAT" "OMG" "CITR" "CD" "Silkworms" (virtually all of the songs they played so far except for maybe "better")and was involved from the beginning, ... , he should be more important than lets say, Bumblefoot or Fortus, since after all, with all due respect, all they've done(on the songs we've so far heard) is play, or redoo, someone elses tunes.

he is an important member, if not in the musical sense, then at least in the historical, since he's the one who wrecked/saved GNR
he was there when the hardest times were, he went through the transformation, he was there during the most critical days...
He is big!

Where did you hear that he is on the Leaks?

Well Fortus confirmed in an interview or through an email that he was not on the leaks. And I think he said he didn't even know one of them existed. If it isn't Fortus, it's gotta be Huge, right?

He is the mystery man..played a very large part in the making of the cd alot of you so eagerly await, yet we don't know much about him....he got alot of undeserved flak for awhile, but I think alot of people realized that he did nothing but better gnr and axl. His guitar work and writing will blow alot of people away...maybe he will pop up on the cover of 'Guitar' magazine or something.

I think he'll be on the album, if only as a favor from Axl.

In January 2004, it was rumored that Tobias was to be involved in a new band with The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson and Stone Temple Pilots members Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz.....which is ironic considering STP's lead vocalist ended up in that band with Slash and Duff and Matt lol

That didn't happen though, obviously. The DeLeo's are in Army of Anyone with Richard Patrick of Filter and the Crowes are working on a new album last I heard.

The reason Huge isn't really doing anything of any worth these days is.....well, he's not that great. He's certainly not getting on magazine covers on the "strength" of Mank Rage that's for sure.

Yea, that's why none of the longtime Fortus-worshippers reference the leaks when defending him to skeptics. Or at least the smart ones don't.

"Paul Huge" sounds like a porn star's name, doesn't it?
