Title: Misuse of the GnR "cross"! :P
Post by: Jaci_Roxx on December 29, 2007, 05:09:42 PM
I just watched a commercial of Not Born To Rock (the Finnish version) and they seem to have taken the GnR cross and used it as their logo. As a fan I must say that's sacrilege!? Considering the show's about a bunch of nerds that are being trained to become "rock stars".? :P

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum but I just needed to vent (and some time off from the "other" thread).?? :D

does anyone know what the meaning of the GNR cross is?  there's obviously some sort of Biblical reference.  But I've alway wondered what the band was trying to say (if anything) by using a cross.

Uh, I'm pretty sure they just used it cause it looks cool. The 'Appetite' cross is just a symbol of brotherhood from what I gather.

Duff told Axl the tattoo looked very cool and wanted to put it as an artwork of the album after the problems with the robot and the chick one. The other interesting thing that I know is that Slash being drunk, told Axl to put him not with curly but with lank hair.

Lots of rock stars wear crosses and I've always wondered about the same thing. But I guess it's like what Indiannarose said, it just looks cool. Like the skulls, cherries (now that's what I don't get, LOL!), dice... Those things grow more popular every day, at least among teenagers. You can barely find a teenager that would not wear them.
