I'd like it to be like in the 90s when we didn't have to put up with the same rigid setlist throughout the entire tour.

This.

Ideally, about half the set would stay pretty rigid (the obvious classics and singles/band's favourites from Chi-Dem), but now they've got more material to play with I would hope to see the sort of setlists where there would be a few changes from night to night.

Not sure bout my ultimate setlist but I am convinced that This I Love (up to just where the guitar comes in) should be the introduction to Novemeber Rain - imagine how good that would be!!!!

shit, just play chinese democracy all the way through.  then play it again for the encore.  by the time this baby hits the airwaves, people will be dying to hear it live.  more so than a bunch of 20 year old songs about drugs and partying i think.

Couldn't agree more.

Though I think This I Love segueing into November Rain would be amazing.

fuck yeah! like Dust In The Wind intro in 93, that would be mindblowing...

the MUST play every new song in the record in every show + jungle, SCOM, civil war/estranged and paradise city

lol

1) You're fooling yourself. No matter how much people like the new stuff, the classics are still the classics, and the crowd wills till eat them up... just like for any big band.
2) It's not like all the old songs were about drugs and partying.
3) What the hell is wrong with songs about drugs and partying?

I personally think Axl is going to totally revamp the setlist.

This is the true break from the old, and in with the new GNR.  Of course there will be some "standards", but I think you will be suprised at the amount of CD that is on the next tour.

I say that most, if not all the album is played.  Maybe even CD all the way through, followed by a modified classics set.  Or the classics mixed..

maybe even drop SOD and IRS and add Shacklers and TWAT

Street Of Dreams

Encores
Mr. Brownstone(I like the drum intro for encore purposes, good encore song)
*rotated new song*
Paradise City

for rotated new songs - I'd pick between: Madagascar, If The World, Prostitute, This I Love, and IRS. I agree that This I Love would be ok too as an encore, with just Axl out playing the piano then the band kicking in...then do brownstone and PC

for rotated old songs: Id like to hear Rocket Queen, KOHD(maybe no longer a staple to me), Civil War, Out Ta Get Me, and maybe a cool cover they did in the day like Whole Lotta Rosie, or Dead Flowers...jsut to keep the set list movin night to night

November Rain - Estranged - This I Love trilogy is what i would love to see, its now my biggest dreams of new setlist.

Then i would only put 3 or 4 AFD songs there, 4 seems like suitable to me.

I added 11 new songs there, + 4 AFD songs and 4 UYI songs, that seems like my dream setlist.

Once again, my wishes:

- 3 or 4 AFD songs
- Couple rare UYI tracks like Estranged or Civil War + November Rain and Don't Cry.
- There has to be over 10 songs from chinese democracy, that's for sure.
- More changes to setlist like back in UYI tour. So no just same setlist and songs trough whole tour.

I'd say definitely open the show with Chinese Democracy and come back from a break with Jungle... In between, I say mix it UP.  None of this:  "Drop Song A and replace it with Song B"... play Think About You one night and play Shackler's Revenge the next.

If I was asked to create a reasonable setlist for the next tour (and yes, I think I should be hired for this job), it would look something like this:

1 - Welcome to the Jungle
2 - Better
3 - Chinese Democracy
4 - It's So Easy
5 - Mr. Brownstone
6 - Street of Dreams
7 - Catcher in the Rye (stripped down version)
8 - Estranged
9 - You Could Be Mine
10 - Shackler's Revenge
11 - Madagascar
12 - Sweet Child o' Mine
13 - November Rain (with This I Love lead-in)
14 - Sorry
15 - Breakdown
16 - Patience
17 - Nightrain
18 - Rocket Queen
19 - There Was a Time

ENCORE

20 - Prostitute
21 - Civil War
22 - The Song Remains the Same (any cool cover will do, but I'll go with Led Zep)

SECOND ENCORE

23 - Paradise City

Edit: Forgot about Nightrain! Sorry boys, I couldn't take anything out, so the show will need to be about 4 minutes longer!!

I saw a couple people mention taking out some of the older songs/standards. If their "standards" that means they are standard to the setlist so they're not going anywhere. But I think it's kind of obvious which of the older songs will go (My Michelle, Outta Get Me) just to name a few. My only wish is that they have one less opening act next tour. I'm not EVEN implying that I think they should/could/ or would start their shows before Axl is ready but just have someone with a decent catalog play for about 90 minutes then set change, that puts you at around 9:30-10 for GNR to take their time to get on stage fashionably late and still play for 2.5+ hours. I also don't see them expanding the setlist to include more older songs but ya never know...............

Chinese Democracy
It's So Easy
Shackler's
Brownstone
Street of Dreams
IRS
TWAT
Patience
SCOM
Madagascar
This I Love
November Rain
You Could Be Mine
WTTJ
Estranged (Absolutely needs to start playing this one)

Better
If the World
Paradise City

Not put to much time into this but here goes:

Cd to start seems fine.
The next three, I think a couple of old songs (nightrain, easy, maybe brownstone and then better as the 4th...)

would like to see oh my god but it probably won't happen... oh and estranged is always wanted.
think probably all new songs can be played, during a long tour...

to finish I think This I Love, PC and prostitute would fit nice

Chris Cornell recently played a few shows where he performed his new album in its entirety with no stops or deviations. I wouldn't mind seeing Guns do something similar with CD, only for a few dates.

I'm so bored of the Appetite stuff, they should only play 2 or 3 songs of that in the encore. Rest of the setlist should be a nice balance of CD and Illusions.

17. This I Love
18. Estranged

Back to back like that....you want Axl to have a mental breakdown on stage?  :hihi:

But those 2 songs, above any, should be in the setlist, agreed.

I made a totally crazy and long setlist that I won't even share with you...

All I ask is that they bring back:
Estranged
Don't Cry
Yesterdays
Pretty Tied Up.... and, maybe, perfect crime

And from ChiDem they add:
This I Love
If The World
CITR
Scraped

and of course keep the clasiscs ( and the ChiDem ones) they already play every single show... just mix up the order a little bit... :P

The singer of the band might pull a GITR/SB/DDM/MW and say that whatever I had to say, I said on the record and never perform it.

Something like:

-It's So Easy
-You Could Be Mine
-Better
-Sweet Child O' Mine
-There Was A Time
-Rocket Queen
-Patience
-Don't Cry
-November Rain

-Madagascar
-This I Love
-Nightain
-Prostitute
Encore:
-Chinese Democracy
-Estranged
-Paradise City

Also throw in I.R.S., If The World, Street Of Dreams one or two others at gigs

But i would be just as happy if they did what they did with the UYI tour and just do different sets each night, with just a handful of regular songs, which imo should be:

-Jungle
-Sweet Child
-Paradise City
-This I Love
-Prostitute
-You Could Be Mine

All i have to say in this thread is that it is more than likley we will here Don't Cry, Prostitute and Estranged in the upcoming shows..  Don't cry is a given as he sang the song in the last few shows of the 2007 tour.  Prostitute because Axl gave us all a teaser as the intro to November Rain during the 2006/07 tour and we never even knew it was actually part of a song to be released on CD and Estranged as the man even said himself he would like to have it back..

All other songs,  ill take any setlist no matter what songs they play, All i want is to see these guys play live again  :peace:

my 2 cents..

Honestly if all GNR did was perform Chinese Democracy sequentially, I would fucking love that. Wouldn't even care the  show wouldn't be very long because of it. I want to hear each and every one of these songs live. Each and every last one of them.

Wow, you guys went to every show on the previou tour? I'd like to have that kind of money. I mean, wow, you went to so many shows you got bored of the setlist? Tell me, just how many shows did you go to?  ::)

Title: Re: Setlist Wishes: Now That We've Heard the Album
Post by: oldgunsfan on February 26, 2009, 01:12:32 AM
I'm so bored of the Appetite stuff, they should only play 2 or 3 songs of that in the encore. Rest of the setlist should be a nice balance of CD and Illusions.

17. This I Love
18. Estranged

Back to back like that....you want Axl to have a mental breakdown on stage?  :hihi:

But those 2 songs, above any, should be in the setlist, agreed.

I agree and disagree, I think they should open with WTTJ as that's what they've been doing for years but after welcome, play about 7-10 songs from democracy, then close with a mix of AFD, Lies, UYI, and Democracy.  Something like:
WTTJ
Scraped (because it's a bit of a unkown rocker; that really breaks GnR down as towhat their all about)
CD (1st singlr - makes sense)
Sorry (because of the survivor results how well it placed)
Catcher (great segwui into more intricate compostions)
If The World (great follow up into more intricate compositions)
TWAT (additional great follow up into more intricate compositions)
IRS (getting back to what gnR did so well)
Shacklers - a little different, in the veign of it's so easy -
Its So Easy - one of their best rockers
Nighttrain - one of their best rockers
Out Ta Get Me - one of their best rockers (ISE, Nightrain, and OTGM are so difficult to separate-all 3 go together)
SCOM - great riff, lead, solo, and vocals
You're Crazy (lies/live era) - great groove, vocals

You Could Be Mine - AFD era (coulda replaced My Michelle or Thank About You)
Back of Bitch - AFD era (coulda replaced My Michelle or Thank About You)
Paradise City -  A+ rocker
Mr Brownstone -  A+ rocker
Madagascar - great song
Don't Cry - didn't fit AFD

ENCORE:
Street of Dreams
November Rain
Rocket Queen

Openign with jungle, than playing a steady stream of democracy songs, followed by a mix of AFD and UYI is probably the best way to handle their lineup changes

Robin being in or out shouldn't make that big a difference as far as how they decide the setlist.  If he's in, great, nothing line-up wise changes.  If he's out then I'm sure whomever they get to replace him will do a more-than-adequate job with both the old and new material.  As far as how/if Brain and Frank will be alternating the drumming duties, whichever one is onstage at any given show still doesn't constitute it as a "line-up change" so I don't see any problem with that neither.

IMO, the setlist (including encore) should start and end with something from CD and include ALL the songs off the album mixed with some of the AFD and UYI songs ... but each 'segment' should start and end with a CD song.

Well everybody's picks so far are very interesting. Here's my Wish Setlist for a New GN'R live show....Well this is really a list of songs that I believe that would make sence to play to the general population and also because most of these songs that I picked are very well known to most people (most were either singles, videos, played in movies or played on radio a ton of times)....I'd say at lease 95% of people would recognize all or almost all of these songs. If I were to pick a setlist for GN'R to play just for me I know that I'd pick a few songs that are not so common, but I think this Setlist that I made up is one that would make for an Awesome show for any type of GN'R fan, casual or die-hard. Anyway here's what I think would make for a great live show now adays from the Gunners.  ;)

Chinese Democracy
Shackler's Revenge
Mr. Brownstone
It's So Easy
Live & Let Die
If The World
Street Of Dreams
Welcome To The Jungle
You Could Be Mine

They should take the best songs from A.T.D; Lies; Use ILL I & II and C.D. Put each song in a huge hat and have each band member pick a song out until there are none left. As each member picks out the song that is the one they play. This way each concert will have all the best songs but played in a different order for each concert. (They can do this while they are backstage before the show.) I know this sounds radical but G&R are a radical band.

Would you guys prefer a setlist for the upcoming tour that is dominated by Chinese Democracy, meaning playing the album in its entirety or practically in entirety, or would you prefer a setlist more similar to what we have been used to in recent years, with a few more CD songs mixed in here and there? I'm ok with both, but would love to see Chinese Democracy being played live in its entirety. That idea really excites me, as I'm dying to hear every song live.

Title: Re: Setlist Wishes: Now That We've Heard the Album

Both, like the majority of the bands...

A classic band need to mix the set between classic tunes n' new ones (just as many of the bands with more than 20 years)
And also, with a new album in the street the set needs to be dominate (more than usual) by the last album...

Title: Re: Setlist Wishes: Now That We've Heard the Album
Post by: The Catcher on March 23, 2009, 03:18:00 PM
I agree to a certain extent, though I feel that the emphasis should be on the present rather than the ugly past of this band. I think Axl would prefer it that way too.

Anyway, I don't know about you guys, but looking at these setlists that people in this thread set up, doesn't it feel fucking amazing to see new, released material next to the classic GN'R catalogue? ;D The first thought that strikes me when seeing them is that they truly belong up there and do the old material justice! Here's to a bright, new chapter in GN'R's history! We're finally here!

1) Welcome to the Jungle
2) Shackler's Revenge
3) It's So Easy
4) Riad N' The Bedouins
5) You Could Be Mine - with a crazy drum fill in the beginning - not a full blown solo i.e. sorum, but just a mini 1-2 min fill.
6) Better
Ashba Solo Spot
7) Sweet Child O' Mine
8] If The World - with band jam intro
9) Mr. Brownstone
10) Rocket Queen / Knockin' On Heaven's Door - rotation
11) There Was A Time / Madagascar - rotation
Dizzy & Pitman Keyboard Jam / Synth solo spot - with a moving the piano jam intro
12) Street of Dreams / Catcher in the Rye - rotation
13) This I Love
Band Introduction & Axl Piano Solo / The Asshole Song  :hihi:
14) November Rain
Fortus Solo Spot
15) Prostitute - moving back the piano occurs during the end instrumental of the song so no need 4 a jam
16) My Michelle / Live N Let Die / I.R.S. - rotation
17) Sorry
18) Don't Cry
19) Patience
20) Scraped / Down On The Farm / Out Ta Get Me - rotation
BBF's solo spot
21) Nightrain
Encore:
22) Chinese Democracy
23) Paradise City

 that would be my dream show!
i think it's pretty realistic to what they would do; it flows & makes sense... breaks 2 catch breathers, rotations so it doesnt get stale 4 the band, etc.
all we can do is wait and see 8)

Ideally, they should mix it up a bit. My ideal setlist would have 8 songs from Democracy, 4 from AFD, 5 from the illusions, 1 from Lies, and a cover (Sailing gets my vote)

Welcome to the Jungle

Ok, not that I claim that I think like Axl Rose or anything, but I honestly think that this setlist is as close to possible to what we may be seeing and hearing in the future. Staying true to how the other sets have been in 2002, 2006, 2007 but also highlighting the album properly would most likely be Axl's number one agenda. Being as most of us are seeing that Chinese Democracy would be a killer opener for the show, it only makes sense to put Welcome To The Jungle as an encore opener. Whether Axl would agree or not, not one can say for sure. The band may also decide to rotate songs of course because let's face it they're not going to perform 30 songs a night, my guesses for rotation are the following.

-Think About You
-Used To Love Her
-I.R.S.
-Sorry
-Catcher In The Rye
-Nice Boys
-Down On The Farm

Below are other songs I actually considered, but don't really seem to be too realistic at this point, at least to me and also reading Dexter's homework as to where he wants the future of GNR to go.

Estranged
Coma
Civil War
Get In The Ring
Double Talkin' Jive (Never again since it was written to spite Izzy, they're cool with each other again)

-As much as I'd like to see these performed again, I think were S.O.L. for the most part as Axl clearly stated that he's really concentrating more on Chinese than going out his way to perform oddities. Don't Cry would be the only exception that he may pull out again being as this was performed instrumental throughout the last tour and once in it's entirety in Japan.

I caught a couple of shows during the '92 Illusion tour. Without a doubt, the best live shows I have ever seen. Those stadiums were crazy packed. Pure magic.

Like Sorum said years back, that kind of magic will never happen again. Luckily, I do have those dvds. Which reminds me, I really do need to break those out sometime soon.  :)

You should stick to the Dead Horse section from now on.  : ok:

Just a friendly suggestion before it's too late.

Several people who "prefer the old band" have made the mistake of "posting their honest opinion" in the wrong threads in the wrong section over and over and over again....

FYI: I have no problems kicking people out for that kind of trolling. I don't care if you prefer the old band. There's a place for everything and often your kind of people don't get that. They think the place for old band discussions are in threads dedicated to the current band, the album, the new songs or anything else relating to stuff that has happened within the last 10+ years.

/jarmo

What if I like both versions of the band? Are you saying that I can't post in a certain section if I prefer one to the other?

Besides, who's talking about the "old band"? I'm in a thread that asked the question, "what my setlist wishes" would be, and I answered accordingly. I never brought up any ex-members, and I never dissed anything that the new band is doing.  ???

Just trying to get where you're coming from. Is this because I didn't personally "wish" for more new songs than I did? If the thread had asked, what new songs I wanted to hear, I would have listed only the new songs.

To insinuate that's trolling, and threatening to kick me out because of that seems kind of extreme. Not to mention, the clumping me into a category called "my kind". I guess since they have extreme sports, why not have extreme moderating?  :hihi:

If you read my post, it's quite clear what I said.

If your idea of posting here consists of trolling this section by posting about the old band in threads that have nothing to do with that era, then stay out.

Can it be more clear?

So let me get this straight, while the majority of fans who have heard the new album wants to hear those songs performed live, you want a full two (2) of them to be performed.

That's less new songs than in 2002, 2006 and 2007. Tours that happened before the album was out.

This thread isn't about your all time dream setlist. It's about what songs from the album you think would fit where in the set.

It also seems like most people except you got that, since they actually include a reasonable amount of new songs in their own setlists.

So either you're taking the piss, you don't like the new songs and/or you think two new songs is a reasonable amount.

And if you don't like the songs, you could still play along and guess where some of the new songs that you dislike would fit in a setlist.

Extreme trolls require extreme measures.

There's no need to play nice with people like that.

It's perfectly clear. I just really don't see why it is that you are telling me this. Hell, I would have never guessed that me not posting more new songs in "my setlist wishes" would have been construed as me "trolling about the old band". Aside from a political forum, this is the only forum I post at. To be honest, it seems a little more political here than the one that I go to that actually discusses politics. But whatever ... your forum (I'm assuming) ... your right.

Keep in mind ... I simply posted my setlist wishes. You were the one who brought up the UYI tour and dvds.

So let me get this straight, while the majority of fans who have heard the new album wants to hear those songs performed live, you want a full two (2) of them to be performed.

That's less new songs than in 2002, 2006 and 2007.

Umm ... yeah. I guess that is what I was saying. But I can't say that I said it to derail the thread, start controversy, or to piss you off. Those 2 songs that I mentioned are my favorite from the album. By only mentioning those 2, I wasn't implying that I hate the new album, Axl's bandmembers, or that I am "one of those kind" that are praying for Slash to come back.

There are just other songs that I would prefer to hear from the back catalogue that I find more appealing; especially in a live setting.

This thread isn't about your all time dream setlist. It's about what songs from the album you think would fit where in the set.

Well, the thread's title is sure misleading then.

"Setlist Wishes: Now That We've Heard the Album" to me, suggests that now that we know offically what Chinese Democray's tracklist consists of, what would I like the setlist to be on the next tour?

That's how I interpreted the thread's question, and I answered it honestly. If there was a minimum amount of new songs that you required to be used in my setlist wishes, a disclaimer should have been added stating such.

It also seems like most people except you got that, since they actually include a reasonable amount of new songs in their own setlists.

So either you're taking the piss, you don't like the new songs and/or you think two new songs is a reasonable amount.

The answer is the latter of the two. I thought that it was a reasonable amount based on what my setlist wishes are, and the songs that are available to choose from.

And if you don't like the songs, you could still play along and guess where some of the new songs that you dislike would fit in a setlist.

What songs do I dislike? I simply stated the songs that would be "my setlist wishes".

Seriously, I assure you ... you are reading entirely too much into this.    :hihi:

Extreme trolls require extreme measures.

There's no need to play nice with people like that.

If that's the case, great. Go and find yourself a guy/girl who is here to "troll" and harass that person. Judging by your inability to accept an opinion other than your own, it shouldn't be too difficult to find an individual who pisses you off.

You're not helping yourself at all...

I just really don't see why it is that you are telling me this.

Like I told you not too long ago, you got my attention.

Don't think this is the first time I've seen you do something "funny"......

Judging by your inability to accept an opinion other than your own, it shouldn't be too difficult to find an individual who pisses you off.

Pisses me off? Get a fucking clue.

I just don't like smart asses that come here thinking they can start shit and when I say something about it I'll run away afraid of being accused of harassing some poor innocent poster.

I even pointed out to you that your opinion doesn't fucking matter and that there's a place for everything.

So it's kinda like I already acknowledged that people have different opinion didn't I?

So put that thought somewhere safe and keep it there. The usual crying about "you don't respect my opinions because it differs from yours".

The same excuse all attention seekers use because I have no interest in talking about the old band in threads that have nothing to do with them.

I don't give a fuck if you think 1987 was the highlight of mankind. Fine, that's your opinion, but not every thread is about 1987!

I've explained this to you and you just don't get it.

No disclaimer is needed because it seems like most others have common sense.

Edited to add: The explanation is in the FIRST sentence of the first post:

Plain and simple...you know the songs now and have a better idea as to where they would fit in nicely during a live show...so, go to it...what does GN'R setlist look like in 2009?

So obviously it's not just about what you want to hear as I pointed out.

I'd be lying if I were to say I wasn't flattered, but I think I should tell you that I'm happily engaged.

I think it was my sense of humor that originally caught her attention too.   ;)

Pisses me off? Get a fucking clue.

I don't blame you for not liking smart asses that are here to stir shit. If I was moderating a forum, I'd probably have a similar stance on that type of nonsense.

My argument is, I'm not sure why it is that I'm getting this lecture?

All because I only chose (2) songs as my setlist wish? Really? That warrants this undeserved scrutiny and name-calling?

I even pointed out to you that your opinion doesn't fucking matter and that there's a place for everything.

So it's kinda like I already acknowledged that people have different opinion didn't I?

So put that thought somewhere safe and keep it there. The usual crying about "you don't respect my opinions because it differs from yours".

Yeah, you did say that. But your actions, namecalling, and threatening me, all because I only listed (2) songs in my setlish wish doesn't seem to suggest that you really feel that way.

The same excuse all attention seekers use because I have no interest in talking about the old band in threads that have nothing to do with them.

I don't give a fuck if you think 1987 was the highlight of mankind. Fine, that's your opinion, but not every thread is about 1987!

Umm ... ok. Again, just so I can try to keep up ... where exactly did I talk about the old band in this thread and where did I ever mention the year 1987?

I simply (with no agenda attached) gave my setlist wish. Immediately, you followed up that response with, "I hope you saw a UYI show and / or own the videos". So, I followed that back up with "YES, I have seen UYI shows, and YES I do own the videos, and they were great".

Just as a reminder, Axl was the frontman of that era, and I said the shows were the best I have ever seen. Why you think me enjoying that period suggests that I wish the year was 1987 again is really beyond me?

I've explained this to you and you just don't get it.

No disclaimer is needed because it seems like most others have common sense.

You're right, Jarmo. The title "Setlist Wishes: Now That We've Heard the Album" clearly indicates that there is a minimum number of new songs REQUIRED to be posted. I honestly have no clue what I was thinking.

Edited to add: The explanation is in the FIRST sentence of the first post:

Well, I'll admit to fault here. I guess I overlooked that post. Next time I'll be sure to re-review the thread several times to avoid being cyber bullied for no real reason.

Peace.

Apology accepted.

Yeah, maybe next time read before starting smart ass arguments.....  : ok:

And I was making general statements regarding attention seekers coming here to post about the old band in every other thread.

It's not about not understanding that people have different opinions, it's about not wanting to hear those opinions in threads that have nothing to do with them!

The more I listen to the album the more I think the only song I really don't care to hear live is Shacklers Revenge. And I wouldn't be "upset" if they did play it, I'd just rather hear something else.

And I hope to God that CD is the set opener every night.

no doubts that bumble, fortus and dj ashba play the old songs better than anyone else ever could hope to.  but they're still kinda lame songs to me.  simple, dumb songs about sex, drugs and rock n' roll.  hearing axl and the new guys play those songs is kinda like hearing motzart play louie louie.  sure, he can do it... but his virtuosity would be better spent on other songs.

Those "Lame songs" put them on the map. Made them the biggest band in the world at one time. Allowed Axl the creative freedom to take 15 years to put out an album. In essence you are also pissing on Axl who wrote many of these songs too. Just my opinion.

Second off: Where in my statement did I tell You or Axl what to do? I stated an opinion just like you.
Third: You see, Im capable of making my point without namecalling ( mulletheads?).

Since guns are touring again and we've all seen the setlists I have to say there are some gems on the illusions that need to see the light of day.
Since 02 guns have always played a very heavy appetite setlist. Now in my opinion guns should never do a gig without nightrain, 'easy', jungle or sweet child but they always play 'brownstone', out ta get me n my michelle, songs which need a rest I think.
Stuff like double talkin jive, pretty tied up n perfect crime really need to be played again.

Im just sayin those songs would be deadly live and id be willing to sacrifice a few appetite songs to hear em live.

anybody agree or does anybody wana tell me to stop hating? ha

Same here, some great Illusions songs have been left out in the past...

Double Talking Jive
Dust n' bones

Bad Obsession ♥
Back of bitch
14 years
pretty tied up ♥

mostly because I'd be curious to hear those particular songs from Axl now that his voice has grown the way it has.
I think it's in top shape.

I like the stuff they keep playing from Appetite, I've always missed some Spaghetti in the setlist (human being, hair of the dog, buick mackane ♥ would be ideal for live shows)

As for CD, I love the whole album (except Scraped) so I'd be happy with anything, but I think it would be wiser to promote the most commercial songs, such as CD, Shackler, Better, TWAT, IRS, This I Love).

Chinese Democracy
Welcome to the jungle
Shackler
Nightrain

hair of the dog

i think NOBODY can whine about setlists anymore. Anybody trying to do so will look as a clown no matter what.

BUT, if GNR decides to swap songs, I would erase Patience and include Oh My God, and erase KOHD to include Riad.

GNR just did a show including TWAT, NovRain, Catcher, TIL, Prostitute and Dont Cry.

This is living history guys. We will remember these days for the rest of our lives

I think the setlist is great as it is (how could it not be  ;D), but if I can make a personal wish, I would like to see the following songs added:

- Breakdown
- Estranged
- Double talkin' Jive
- Coma
- Shadow of your Love (wouldn't that be great??)

Some songs of Appetite may take a rest.
But again, no complaining here. The setlists in Osaka and Tokyo were amazing!!!!!!!

I love Oh My God. Always have, always will. One of my fave GN'R songs. I think the RIR3 version of Oh My God kicked ass. The chorus was just pounding and heavy as fuck. Would love for it to make a return live.

I'm thinking with the way Axl's voice is at the moment, he could really kick the shit out of 'Yesterdays'.

Songs like "Locomotive", "Coma", "Pretty tied up" , these are like "Slash's babies" in the Illusions, so i dont expect to hear them ever again live by UncleAxl  :hihi: :hihi:

Pretty tied up is credited solely to Izzy. This wouldn't be the case if Slash had a large hand in the composition.

Osaka and Tokyo are the best setlists ever! If they keep that up I'll be bumping up and down of pure joy the whole year 2010 ;D

I would like to hear live from the UYI albums: Civil War, Estranged, Double Talkin Jive, Dont Damn Me, Dead Horse and Yesterdays. Oh My God would be nice too, the RiR3 version was a million times better than the end of days soundtrack.

Cant wait for the 25th of March!!  :peace:

I think the reason that lots of the Illusion eras arent making it are because of Izzy. I doubt Axl is going to sing 14 years of DN'B. Also, although Axl and Slash and have their differences (understatement of the year), it seems like Axl is paying respect to songs like Estranged (in the linear notes of UYI2, he thanks him fro the killer melodies).

However, if I was at a live show and heard Estranged, Id probably cry haha. Its the song that made me who I am today musically. It got me into piano and guitar, and helped me through some tough times. Simply one of the best songs ever written, and Im sure as hell Axl and Bumblefoot could nail it.

And with CD selections, my god, we coudnt ask for anything more. Almost the whole album in one night, plus other classics? These guys are on fire, and theyve only done like four shows!
