Title: My GNR drum covers (New covers & collab cover added 08/02/12) Post by: Jude on November 08, 2010, 01:31:11 PM EDIT (08/02/2012): A lot has happened since my last update, new covers since last year:
My new GNR drum covers: Welcome to the Jungle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzEP3IRwwM0 (No cowbell here, oh noooooooo! :crying: ) It's So Easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaeLb3slB9Y (And we have a cowbell :smoking: ) Collaboration covers: My Michelle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqQ5-FNDzi0 Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: One.In.A.Million on November 08, 2010, 07:28:42 PM I'm not drummer, but as a guitarist I would say that sounded pretty neat. : ok:
The timing was ok, and the tempo seemed at the right pace too. I did noticed some moments where you seemed to be thinking about what you was going to do next, resulting in the drumming going abit patchy. But other than that, I can't flaw it dude. :) I hope you try out some Chinese Democracy tracks too, I'd love to see you drum along with them. ;) Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: Jude on November 28, 2010, 11:46:10 AM I hope you try out some Chinese Democracy tracks too, I'd love to see you drum along with them. ;) I'll try to do this sooner or later, i have been playing mainly Shackler's Revenge, Madagascar and There Was A Time from CD. I decided to do an easy one, November Rain cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5TqtfNARBs Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: One.In.A.Million on November 30, 2010, 11:32:16 PM I hope you try out some Chinese Democracy tracks too, I'd love to see you drum along with them. ;) I'll try to do this sooner or later, i have been playing mainly Shackler's Revenge, Madagascar and There Was A Time from CD. I decided to do an easy one, November Rain cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5TqtfNARBs That was superb dude, your timing was great and you seemed much more relaxed. And my favourite part was the outro, you just owned it. I also loved the breakdown, when the storm starts at the outdoor wedding reception in the video. Those quick repetitive patterns seem fun to do, with you adding your own feel and notes in between. Well done on the video sync too, a nice way to watch your timing. : ok: Keep it up, great work. ;) Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: Voodoochild on December 03, 2010, 09:12:15 AM Great work indeed. I'd love to see you covering Shacklers and/or TWAT. :D
Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: Jude on December 08, 2010, 02:35:14 PM So, I did Shackler's Revenge today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQN-bOvX7tM

And everything in between was perfect as well, keep at it Jude, you are getting better and better. I can see you growing and perfecting you technique, it's nice to watch. :) Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: Jude on February 14, 2011, 02:45:05 AM We made a full collaboration cover of Rocket Queen with 3 other youtube musicians. Of course i play the drums :P, Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASDQdSDoe3s
Hopefully more GNR stuff coming in the future, i think we try to do some Skid Row next. Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Rocket Queen full collab. cover added 14/02/11) Post by: spookeend on February 15, 2011, 10:40:10 AM in one word WOW
So, you all play together in your own places, connected through the internet? Then sync it all? or, how does this work? Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Rocket Queen full collab. cover added 14/02/11) Post by: Jude on February 15, 2011, 03:33:34 PM in one word WOW So, you all play together in your own places, connected through the internet? Then sync it all? or, how does this work? Yeah, we record our own parts by playing with the original song so that everybody is in sync. Then it's easier to put the recorded parts together (we send our own files to the one who's doing the editing). In this video we had european musicians: I'm from Finland, the singer is from Norway and the guitarist and the bassist are from France. :) It's funny because two of us were born after Appetite For Destruction was released (I was born in 1992 :P). We are going to cover some Skid Row next (18 & Life or Youth Gone Wild), and hopefully more GN'R sooner or later. Probably Civil War and/or My Michelle. I'd love to cover Civil War, such an amazing song. Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Rocket Queen full collab. cover added 14/02/11) Post by: spookeend on February 15, 2011, 04:20:33 PM it's just amazingly done, i really like it. Not only the idea, but also how it is done, very well done indeed.
i am in no way a musician, i have no rhythm at all..... so maybe that is why i am extra impressed. Can't wait to see more, i downloaded this one to keep : ok: Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: One.In.A.Million on February 16, 2011, 01:04:34 PM We made a full collaboration cover of Rocket Queen with 3 other youtube musicians. Jude, you and the rest of the musicians are on fire man. And I agree, brilliant idea to do the collaboration in this manner on youtube. I only have one dislike, and that is I would have preffered to have it without the singer. Don't get me wrong, she's nice to look at and everything but I wanted to pay attention to the band more. You have alot of talent for your age Jude. : ok: Title: Re: My GNR drum covers Post by: WhatIsItMan on February 24, 2011, 08:03:30 PM We made a full collaboration cover of Rocket Queen with 3 other youtube musicians. I wanna play! Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Rocket Queen full collab. cover added 14/02/11) Post by: Jude on March 27, 2011, 04:51:47 PM Well, this isn't GNR stuff but it's close enough, cover fo Skid Row's 18 and Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2nkIpWwh9U
Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Civil War full collab. cover added 30/04/11) Post by: Jude on April 30, 2011, 02:41:19 PM Our new cover is Civil War, here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVak9VJeNVw
We also have a piano player this time :) Enjoy! : ok: Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (Civil War full collab. cover added 30/04/11) Post by: spookeend on May 18, 2011, 04:36:19 PM It's really good, i really like it. But, sorry, Rocket Queen sounds better to me (your version...y'all that is)
I could not play one note on any of the instruments, so who am i to complain, but the voice really is an instrument on Rocket Queen, the slightest little less on Civil War if i may say. But, again, amazingly done, again!!!! Ow, this is no way a complaint on the singer's voice or anything, damn, HELL NO, that is amazing to hear, but, i prefer it the Rocket Queen way (perhaps even more as Axl on that one......studio version wise) Title: Re: My GNR drum covers (New covers & collab cover added 08/02/12) Post by: Jude on February 08, 2012, 04:19:54 AM EDIT (08/02/2012): A lot has happened since my last update, new covers since last year:
