Following their 2008 multimillion dollar album, Chinese Democracy, the new-look rock outfit has been touring on and off with clustered trips across the world. The last eighteen months have only garnered one concert in the US by the band. And now, that is all about to change. Guns N? Roses kicks off their first North American Tour since 2006 in South Florida and is set to play the IZOD Center on November 17.

So who's going to the Meadowlands?

It looks like the presale for the Camden, NJ show is only for people with CitiBank credit cards.  I REALLY hope the presale for this show is open to all of those with the password.

Just got my GA tix!!! See everyone there!!  Don't worry it wont sell out in the presale, IZOD is big, and historically shows sell really slow there, you should have no problem getting GA tix when they go on sale.

I am hoping to get in the lower level seating.

I'm thinking only a few sections and GA were reserved for the Citi presale. Based off my experiences in 2006, the regular presale had a lot more sections available.

What is the Reserved Parking all about? Has anyone ever used it at IZOD? I am thinking of getting it tomorrow too.

The floor plan looks like the entire floor is GA.  I got a GA ticket because its just more fun but agree the downside is not being able to leave, especially if the entire floor is GA.  My plan is to do a bunch of shots before the show, eliminate bathroom breaks and buzz should last longer!

I think it is closer to the venue in a parking deck.  I took the train in when I saw U2 over the summer but I would be afraid to do that with GNR.  U2 played late and thankfully the held the trains but who knows if they would do it again.

Do you think it;s worth it, or just get the regular pre-paid will do the job.

Just bought 2 GA tix. GA6 seats 91, 92... Hopefully that split GA section does not happen. First time at the "Izod Center". Coming from Providence. So far This, Hartford and Worcester for me. Cant wait!!!!  :smoking:

called ticketmaster and they actually let me cancel my first order because i saw GA were now all of a sudden available. was on at 10 and it said none available for 5 tics. SEC GA ROW GA2!!! Now what the fuck is the deal with this barrier? Anyone been there recently for a concert?

I called LiveNation and asked specifically about the sections for GA floor tickets.  There are NOT sections.  That is just for them to track ticket sales.  It is all GA.  First come, first served.

ok cool, yeah IZOD was the only place that did the barrier thing that I can remember.  That was also before IZOD took it over, it was Continental Arena back then

my wife & i tried for about an hour on 4 screens & best we got was sec 107 on the inside end closest to stage- about 1 section closer than you so u did pretty well- i doubt gen sale will b better- but try right before the show- they usually release best tics then- alot of times close to front row! & then sell yours but your fine either way- congrats!! :beer: :beer:

If the floor was being split into two secions, which it is NOT, then it would clearly be labeled as either VIP Floor (up close) or back floor.  Obviously, the sooner you get there the closer up you will be.  I have a feeling this show is gonna sell quite well.  Especially being that no NY show is announced yet.  Could be part of their strategy.

agree with tyson that putting this on sale before ny dates is complete marketing strategy. they propbably werent sure izod would sell out so put it on sale first with no ny dates so its sells out faster. then put ny dates out KNOWING that any ny show will sell out no problem. ensures ny fans buy 2 or more shows.

MSG is under renovations. If anything they will add a Newark,NJ show but they would've by now. I guess Nassau Coliseum in Long Island is an option

MSG is open during the renovations.  Foo Fighters are playing there a few days before GNR hits the area.  When the Knicks season gets cancellled that will open more dates.

I hope so, that means I will get to go to another show!

Thats already happened with me i heard about this show the day after i bought tickets for the hartford show and i got the tickets for both of the shows in the citi presale and if there is a show in NY i will be going for a 3rd time on this tour  :peace:

its good, its just a standard arena, seats around 19,000.

I've bsaw them there in 2006, but I've been told the acoustics are bad..

I wouldn't know about the acoustics cause this show is the first concert im seeing there but my friend who saw the foo fighters last week said the acoustics were amazing

Horrible arena to watch a sporting event and I would assume concert too since its so spacious. Shouldn't be as bad as an outdoor show though.

IVe been seeing shows at this arena since the 80s, every one from floyd -GNR< and others, Ive never had a bad experience soundwise, oh no wait, I saw Boston there , that was the worst sounding show I ever heard for any concert, and I like Boston, but their sound people musta really had know idea what they were doing.

yeah ive been going to shows forever here, they always sound good.  I think because it is pretty spacious on the top , with the high ceiling people think that the accoustics dont sound great.  But I never noticed. 

The acoustics are horrible at this arena but that is just my opinion.  They are way better at MSG.  Oh well, just happy to be seeing a show again!!!  Section 125 for us, I am all GA-ed out after 2006 and this lady now needs a seat! :hihi:

Y'know what's gonna be awesome? Guns n' Roses rocking at the Izod Center!! Y'know what's not gonna be awesome?  Getting your car-less New Yorker ass to Izod for the show.  That's where Rocks Off comes in!

 

We are running an air-conditioned, bathroom-equipped, sound system & TV-rockin party bus from NYC to and from the shows, so you don't need to worry about finding a ride, staying sober, dealing with the scumbags on public transportation (or the crowded-ass, un-airconditioned, non-bathroom equipped or sound system & flatscreen-rockin shuttle buses back to the NJT station after the show), or even learning where the hell "Holmdel, New Jersey" actually is (once we're outside of the five boroughs, we can't tell a Holmdel from an Albuquerque from an Osh Kosh, but thankfully we've got professional drivers who can).  Really, all you've gotta do is buy a ticket, show up, stumble into and out of the venue, and we'll take care of the rest - don't that sound like it's worth a little money spent on your peace of mind?  (And - we can't stress this part enough - not having to draw straws to see which one of your friends has to stay sober at the heaviest metal show of the fall)

 

The bus will run to and from in front of the Hammerstein Ballroom 34th Street and 8th Avenue.  Boarding begins at 5:45pm, and the bus will leave at 6:00pm PROMPTLY - we know you guys tend to be late to everything, but, really, you're gonna be super bummed out if you pay for a ticket and then miss the bus (and we're not going to refund you), so please take us at our word on this one.  Refreshments are not served on the bus, but we encourage you to bring your own.   The bus will leave Izod half an hour after the show ends - once again, we are serious, and you will be even more bummed out if you pay for a ticket and then get stranded in New Jersey after the show, so please proceed as efficiently as you can towards the bus after the show.  The plus side is, you will find yourself back in NYC afterwards in plenty of time to get a decent night's sleep (or to just keep raging with all the awesome people you met on the bus).
We expect this to sell out quickly, so, don't hesitate - you really, really don't want to take New Jersey Transit.  (Trust us - we've done it, and it sucks)

I already had tickets in section 124 for this show, but was just messing around on Ticketmaster.com and tickets is section 109 came up. So I got them and put my other ones up on StubHub.

I wanted to be closer to the stage and was a little disappointed to get section 124 on the presale day, but now I am super excited to be going to this concert !

This show seems to be selling pretty well.  I just got on ticketmaster and the best available two tickets are section 126 which is the angle seeting towards the back.

I'm driving from Long Island...Although I know trains run practically every hour to Ronkonkama..But I'm not sure how the schedule is to get back to Penn....

11:30, 12:15, 11:00, 11:00, 10:30, 10:00.  I have been tracking start times to give my non gnr diehard friends an idea of when to arrive at the venue. I have prepared them well so they know what they are getting into. Overall they have been going on at a relatively decent time.

I am definitely driving for this show.  I love Axl but I don't trust him to be timely!

theres really nothing near the arena, the arena is in the middle of nowhere.  Any restaurants or bars you go to would involve leaving the parking area and driving.

Maybe the hotels right down the road - Quality Inn Meadowlands? Just a shot in the dark.

My office is a mile from the arena, so I'll be working late and heading right on over.  There is an Applebees right off of Patterson Plank Road which is the road that leads to the arena (from route 17).  There is also a Houlihans not too far off on the southbound side of Route 17 in East Rutherford.

Ive taken the bus, from port authority before, and it usually takes about 20 mins to get to the meadowlands, Im not sure if the bus your taking about. these are shuttle buses for events, that leave 43rd street, and 8th ave, not from within. Im coming from Borrklyn.

Question about the floor:  What time do you think I should arrive by in order to get fairly close to the stage?  Also, if I get there when the doors open and a friend comes about an hour later, do you think he'll be able to wiggle his way up to me in the crowd so we can stand together?  Any help is appreciated.  I've never been on the floor in this venue.  Thank you!

I had GA Pit there in 2006 and it was fairly tame and was able to push up without going in early and I am a 5 ft 2 120lb chick, haha.  The people were even kind of lame.  I can't say that will still be the case, though?

fairly close to the stage i would get there before 830.and that would be real close to the stage. if u get there when doors open u will be the first 4 rows. your friend might have trouble finding u exactly in the crowd but yes he would be able to move through to search.the floor will fill up around 930. im in section 107 so i'll be watching. lol
