Me too. I know they won't skip us, but it's still making me antsy until they announce them. I'm willing to do Vegas if they skip California for some strange reason, but everything else that's non-west coast is a bit too far.

I am going to the shows at the IZOD and Susquehanna Centers. I would like to go to at least one more show. So I am hoping that there is either an MSG show or really thinking about going to Vegas if they do a Vegas show.

Guns N' Roses U.S Tour 2011 Announced: Axl Rose Warns of Lateness

DJ Ashba of Guns N' Roses on Stage on the 2011 Tour - DJ Ashba and Guns N' Roses Facebook

As Guns N' Roses rock South America in October 2011 they have announced a U.S. Tour to follow. Axl Rose warned fans they may be late sometimes. If you went on safari to see a leopard and it'd changed its spots to squares you'd be disappointed wouldn't you? Apparently, on the eve of Guns N' Roses first U.S. tour for five years, some rock fans want Axl Rose to change his spots and act like an academic should.

Guns N' Roses started the 2011 leg of their Chinese Democracy tour with a headline gig at the massive Rock in Rio festival, and will end it with the last concert of a long U.S.A tour in December. GnR played Latin America earlier on the current tour, along with Canada, but it is the first Guns N' Roses U.S. tour for half a decade. They did play one date in the U.S. during 2010: headlining the Sturgis Festival.

Guns N' Roses South America Tour 2011

The Chinese Democracy website announced that Guns N' Roses are playing ten dates in South America during October 2011. After Rio de Janeiro on October 2nd they are playing concerts in Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Mexico.

They finish that leg of the Chinese Democracy tour on October 23rd in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Rock in Rio gig was marred by atrocious weather conditions, and Axl Rose's voice seemed out of sorts, but they ploughed on and completed the usual long set. Video evidence from the following shows suggest Axl is now warming up, and showing signs of his old greatness, as seen on a video from Chile posted on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEyCfbVdpCk&feature=youtu.be

Guns N' Roses U.S.A Tour 2011

The Guns N' Roses American tour 2011 seems set to kick off at the Amway Center, Florida on October 28th, and the last date is at the moment pencilled in for the Covelli Centre, Youngstown, Ohio on December 7th. More dates may be added. There are currently twenty-two dates confirmed on Ticketmaster

Axl Rose Warns of Possible Onstage Lateness

Axl Rose stirred up some controversy during the tour by warning fans that the he and the band might be late on stage sometimes. They have had a reputation for lateness since the original Guns N' Roses started in the mid-1980s.

On Guns N' Roses facebook (October 9th, 2011) Axl Rose posted a message saying fans should expect a rock n' roll band to be unpredictable: 'Love it Hate it Accept it Debate it - You want 8 o'clock shows go find F-R-I-E-N-D-S or hit a cinema somewhere.. or you wanna be informed go catch the 10 o'clock news.. this is Rock N' Roll!...This is Guns N'Roses and when the time is right the stage will ignite...'

This provoked a strong debate on rock forums such as Planet Rock (October 10th), with supporters applauding Rose for telling it like it is, and warning fans who might not have time to attend late shows not to buy tickets; while critics accused him of arrogance and not caring about the fans.

There is likely to be more controversy as the tour heads north over the next couple of months, along with a helluva lot of great music.

Axl could not have stated it any better. If you don't like it don't go. I don't care what time they take the stage. Whats the big deal. That was nice of him to even post that.

Can't wait to we see more dates added to the tour. Hope it goes on for along time.

Guns N' Roses plans first Indiana show in 19 years

Volatile rock star Axl Rose has scheduled his first performance in his home state of Indiana since 1992.

Guns N' Roses will perform Dec. 8 at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tickets, $30 to $75, go on sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 22.

Lafayette native Rose moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s and formed Guns N' Roses, a hard-rock phenomenon that's sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Rose, however, is the lone remaining member from the band's best-known lineup.

Guns N' Roses presently consists of Rose, guitarists DJ Ashba, Richard Fortus and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, bass player Tommy Stinson and drummer Frank Ferrer.

The band's "Use Your Illusion" tour included two stops in 1991 at Verizon Wireless Center (known then as Deer Creek Music Center) and one stop in 1992 at the RCA Dome (known then as the Hoosier Dome).

For more information about the Dec. 8 show at Conseco Fieldhouse, visit www.livenation.com or call (800) 745-3000.

I've noticed some distinct changes in the GNR setlist from the end of the 2010 Europe tour to this current 2011 South American tour.  Most notably, the addition of "Estranged," which has been just incredible to hear. Personally, I think the recent performances of "Estranged" have been proof positive that this current lineup is debatably the best group Axl has worked with since UYI. It's also comforting as a fan to know that as detached as Axl can be at times, that this current lineup, specifically Ron n' DJ n' Tommy have gone out of their way to interact with fans.  I firmly believe that "Estranged" was added to the setlist as a direct result of fans' requests.
Having said all that, I am particularly vexed by the exclusion of certain "Chinese Democracy" songs.  It's cool to hear the staples such as "Sorry," "Better," "Street of Dreams," "Madagascar," and thank the lord that the "Chinese Democracy World Tour" is finally being opened by a performance of "Chinese Democracy." "WTTJ" opening screamed of nostalgia tour. "Chinese Democracy" sends a message.  But seriously, what happened to "If The World" N' "Shakler's Revenge?" Both songs were solid staples in the 2010 set and were incredible! "If The World" being a staple in the 2010 South American tour, then subsequently abandoned for unknown reasons.  "Shackler's Revenge" was played consistently during the European Leg of the Tour and IMHO was sounding better than the album version.  Not to mention "I.R.S" N'  "Scraped," which, when peppered into the setlist added a level of excitement that cannot be achieved by additional "Appetite For Destruction" songs in 2011.
The important thing to keep in mind is that at this point in the U.S., the people who are taking the time to go to a GNR show most likely own/listen to/love "Chinese Democracy." If they didn't they would save their money and see their local cover band perform "Sweet Child" N' "Paradise City." AC/DC covers are coll and all but two at the expense of a chance to hear "Oh My God" live is excessive. Axl, dont ever be afraid to "suck on TWAT." It's not a bad thing. Just play it and while you're at it...throw a some "Catcher N' Prostitutes" our way.

Here's looking forward to a triumphant US tour!

Looks like they are playing on average about 5-6 Chinese Democracy songs a night?
That seems like a pretty decent amount to me.

I think bands that have been around a while, realize what the majority of their fan base wants to hear, and it's typically not their latest release. GN'R is no exception. I wouldn't be surprised to see them play less once the tour hits the states.

Stone Temple Pilots for example are coming off a relatively successful album, and they only played 2 songs off of it when I saw them.

I'm not an AC/DC fan, but I like GN'Rs cover of Whole Lotta Rosie.

Well, the advertisment for the US tour is: Over 2 hours of classic hits.

I don't think Riff Raff and Whole Lotta Rosie are Guns N' Roses hits.  And I don'T think the people attending wants to hear that anyhow!

I would MUCH rather stick with GnR hits!

The more "Chinese Democracy" songs the better if you ask me.  I would love to hear them play the whole record.  If hypothetically this were a  Burger King I would have them drop  "LALD, KOHD, Rosie,  Brownstone, in favor of Shacklers, Rhiad, Catcher, TWAT...   But either way, seeing GNR is amazing.   I'm going to a bunch of shows on the east coast and whatever they play is fine with me.   They could do a night full of Yanni covers and I would still think it is the most amazing show in the world.

I think that once they go to the U.S they will start playing some other CD songs, because the last tour they got was in 2006 and now there are songs we didn't even know that existed at that moment (like shackler's)

Also realize that most headliners play for 90 minutes. Gn'R is playing for a whole hour longer than most acts. Personally, I love to hear Axl sing Whole Lotta Rosie. They can't please everybody...but they're doing a hell of a great job trying to with the length of their shows.

How about we cut out the solos and play something like this...  : ok:

Chinese Democracy
Welcome to the Jungle
It's So Easy
Shackler?s Revenge
Live and Let Die
Don?t Cry
Scraped
Mr. Brownstone
Street Of Dreams
Locomotive
Estranged
Oh My God
You Could Be Mine
November Rain
Civil War
Rocket Queen
This I Love
Sweet Child O? Mine
Madagascar
Nightrain

Encore:
Better
Patience
There Was a Time
Paradise City

I think the flow of the setlist above would be pretty awesome.

Alternates throughout the tour: Knockin, Yesterdays, Catcher, Sorry, Prostitute, etc...

Having seen them in various line-up's, I'd say the best shows were the one's where the band were having a good time, it showed and the gig was better for it. No better demonstrating of this was Donington 06, the first half was a challenge to say the least, slippy stage, piss bottles hitting Tommy and sound issues, Axl even said this is the "Isle of Wrong" (a nod to the Isle of Wight festival on the same weekend) but later in the show when the difficulties were ironed out they were storming, Axl said "he's in a different place to that of an hour ago..."

STFU about the set list and let the band decide, in that way, you'll enjoy the ride....  : ok:

Yeah, I get the thought that you'd rather hear other GNR songs rather than solos, but the solos do indeed give Axl a bit of a breather. It also showcases the 3 guitarists and gives them their time to shine at each show, which they definitely deserve.

yeah I kind of like it when they do solos.  Guitar/drum solos are definitely a lost art, I cant remember the last time I saw a band besides GNR or the Foo Fighters do them.  Most bands these days play a streamlined 1 hour to 1:15 minutes with all the songs back to back.

I'm not saying either of us are right, but I really like that fast paced hour and a half shows. They are constant high energy and aren't boring ever. I get really bored with solos, I'll give GNR credit tho, they actually do mini jams and not 10 minute guitar solos.

Solos def. help his voice in the long haul, plus these guitarists actually do great solo sections, plus great time to grab a beer.

I wish this band would revive Jumpin' Jack Flash, love Axl's take on that song.

The California and/or Vegas ones would probably fall in between SLC and Seattle, don't you think? I mean maybe they'd want to end the tour in LA like they did in 2006, but I would think it'd be in between those dates instead.

Guns N' Roses add more shows as North American tour rolls out

With four North American dates already in the books, rockers Guns N' Roses are still tacking more dates onto their itinerary. The latest confirmed dates are Dec. 11 in Broomfield, CO, and Dec. 16 at Seattle's KeyAreana. Tickets for the Broomfiled show are on sale now via TicketHorse, while tickets for the Seattle gig go on sale via Ticketmaster on Saturday (11/5). GN'R kicked of the North American trek -- the band's first in 5 years -- last week in Orlando, FL, and have since made stops in Miami; Greenville, SC; and Atlanta. Dates currently stretch through mid-December.

The North American road trip, helmed by the band's only original member Axl Rose, marks the band's first since 2006. The remaining members include Tommy Stinson (bass), Bumblefoot (guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), DJ Ashba (guitar), Richard Fortus (guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Chris Pitman (keyboards). The group most recently released "Chinese Democracy," which surfaced in 2008 and peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200. In related news, Guns N' Roses are among the nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

Are there going to be only 30 shows?  The press release said more than 30 shows?

I'm wondering if there will be a show in Northern California, or if I'll have to go to LA to see the band if I want.

I'm really hoping for this.  :( You would think since they sold out both nights of the Warfield in 06, it'd be worth it to come back. If they don't, I won't be able to see them this tour because LA/Vegas/Phoenix are too far for day trip drives, and the hotel costs are too high around that time for me to stay anywhere.

Guns N? Roses goes the distance

WORCESTER - For a band known for concerts that might start only after unconscionable waits and run until 2 a.m. when they?re not canceled outright, Guns N? Roses did perhaps the most shocking and unpredictable thing of all Friday night in Worcester: They took the DCU Center stage at a somewhat reasonable hour - 10:20, to be exact. By Gn?R standards, that?s practically a matinee.

Despite his legendarily mercurial nature, Axl Rose seemed to be in a pretty good mood, even mock-grumbling about showing up on time. His moves might not be what they once were - he showed off a not-so-slinky serpentine shimmy in ?Welcome to the Jungle?? and ?Mr. Brownstone,?? and ?Nightrain?? featured awfully stiff happy feet - but he didn?t lack for energy.

ZAKK WYLDE JOINS GUNS N? ROSES ONSTAGE FOR AC/DC COVER

his may be a lot to take in ? Black Label Society frontman and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde joined Guns N? Roses onstage last night to play a cover of AC/DC?s ?Whole Lotta Rosie.? Holy hell, it doesn?t get much more rock ?n? roll than that!

Last night, Dec. 8, Guns N? Roses played Indianapolis as part of their current 2011 North American tour. GN?R fans were treated to a special surprise when Zakk Wylde, whose band Black Label Society opened for Guns N? Roses, joined the band live with his axe in hand.

Axl Rose thanked Black Label Society for opening the show before inviting Wylde out to the stage to play ?Whole Lotta Rosie.? The Indianapolis crowd went nuts during and after the song, as Wylde proudly held up his guitar for the screaming fans.

During a 1995 interview with Kerrang! magazine, Zakk Wylde shared the story on how he almost became Guns N? Roses? new guitarist opposite legendary shredder Slash. ?We jammed together for just over a week, said Wylde. ?We jammed over a whole bunch of s? and came out with three pretty cool ideas. That was with the whole band: Axl, Slash, Dizzy, Duff, Matt and me. We were all just jammin? together and havin? a blast.?

Check out fan-filmed video of Zakk Wylde jamming with Guns N? Roses at last night?s show below:

Guns N' Roses at 1STBANK Center, with Black Label Society, 12/11/11

Some bands wait until the end of the set or an encore to pull out its most beloved material. Not Guns N Roses. Two songs into the set, the instantly familiar guitar riff was teased two, maybe three times, before Axl Rose cried out, "Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle, baby! You're gonna die!" Yes, GNR had the stones to play the song that broke it to the world that early in the set. And it was clear there was no lip-synching for that song as some people assumed for other songs in the set, as evidenced by Axl switching up the inflection in lyrics here and there. When he sang the "Feel my, my, my, my serpentine" line, he did his signature dance. As for the rest of the band? Not a bum note, and if anyone had any concern for the show being good or seeing any prima donna antics from stage, those worries proved to be unfounded.

Before Guns took stage, the lights went out on the venue and an instrumental version of "I'm Your Man" by Leonard Cohen played through the P.A.. Then Dj Ashba was lit up like an icon in front of projection of what had been a red vortex that evolved into the Guns N' Roses logo. The show started off with the title track from Chinese Democracy, and immediately it was a spectacle of colorful projections and fireworks and flame jets and explosions that punctuated the appropriate parts of every song.

After "Welcome to the Jungle" came, the band somewhat unexpectedly went directly into "It's So Easy" with Tommy Stinson supplying backing vocals every bit as expertly as Duff McKagan used to and Dj Ashba's leads, no matter what song he played, were perfectly executed every time even as he put a bit of his own touch on the playing as well. "Mr. Brownstone" came next as a welcome reminder of the strength of the material that happened to be on the act's debut full-length.

Before "Sorry," the words "Guns N Roses" appeared on the projection screens and the crowd chanted along to a cadence in the sequencing. Clearly Sebastian Bach wasn't really on this tour but "Sorry" ended up being a surprisingly strong performance especially with Ashba's melodic yet moody delivery on the leads. Before going into "Shackler's Revenge," Axl asked us how we were doing, and the crowd, to its credit, raised quite a ruckus. Then he said, "You sound good. You sound really fuckin' good!" And somehow it didn't come off as pandering. Throughout the show, it seemed as though Axl was appreciative of the people showing up, and he was gracious with his bandmates as well as the set went on.

D Generation Plan to Make New Music

Jesse Malin has new respect for Axl Rose, and his own reunited band

D Generation's reunion year recently culminated with two opening dates for Guns N' Roses. It's the type of show the band would have scoffed at back in the day, but frontman Jesse Malin looks at it differently now that he's older.

"We used to hate all these bands," Malin tells Rolling Stone. "When D Generation first came out, we were just at war with everything, especially the California hair bands and stuff. Now it all seems to make sense, that we should be a band that should open up for GN'R."

So what's changed? "I realized that Axl's probably treated my friends, like Richard [Fortus] and Tommy [Stinson], really well these last bunch of years," Malin says. "He's out there doing it. He's an outlaw, a misfit, like a lot of us grew up. You could see that with Axl. So I kind of respect it, in some newfound way."

Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose Gets Keys To Utah City

Guns N' Roses leader Axl Rose hooked up with the Mayor of West Valley City at the band's Tuesday night concert in the Utah city.
The Salt Lake City Tribune reports about one hour into the show at the Maverik Center, Mayor Mike Winder stepped onstage and greeted Axl.

Winder congratulated the band on this past week's announcement that GNR had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and presented Rose with a key to the city.
