Title: VIP Ticket confusion...
Post by: Goddamn_Electric on February 07, 2012, 07:47:14 PM
I emailed the company handling the  .com presale because I was confused on whether my ticket was going to be mailed or at will call, and got this back:

Ticketing Support, Feb 07 14:47 (PST):
Hello 213dittohead,

Thank you for contacting ground(ctrl) support. Your VIP package will be at the will call window. However, the tickets and lithograph will be shipped to you. The lithograph will be shipped at a later date and the tickets to your show should be shipping in the next couple of days.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
ground(ctrl) Support

This makes me wonder what exactly I'm getting as far as a VIP package goes??  I ordered the silver, not the gold.

Yes your passes will be at will call, your tickets will be shipped to your address.  This way you can get in the show and they can control who gets VIP access.

That's the way I understood it as well...but I wasnt aware I was getting a pass of any sort.  This leads me to believe silver gets something at will call as well.

Why don't you just check the receipt that you were emailed after you paid?  I'm sure that everyone who ordered from Ground Control, via GN'R site got the same receipt.  I ordered Silver and know that my ticket will not be mailed.  I have to pick it up at Will Call(HOPE I GET A REAL TICKET STUB), anyway the lithograph will be mailed later.  Ground Control probably just sent a general reply because you have to go to Will Call anyway to get your ticket.  I would have paid extra for the option to have the tickets mailed because I hate the hassle of having to pick them up in another line.  Anyway good luck and check your emailed receipt, because I ordered Silver also(different show but still silver).

Your Guns N' Roses order

The ticket stubs and litho get shipped after the gigs. The silver VIP gets a litho & stub. The gold gets a litho, stub, and a commerative lammy. The lammys aren't for any sort of access, just for a keepsake. The gold gets in ten to fifteen minutes prior to doors opening. Silver probably gets in before general ticket sales.

In Vegas the second night they gave all of us the option for early entry but only three of us took it. The first night was a hassle because the groundctrl people were also confused.

That would be nice but the Silver packages this time come with one GA ticket&one lithograph, nothing more.  My guess is that anyone who picks up their ticket from the Silver package will get their ticket and then go wait in the same line with everyone else(except Gold), so we will be going as early as possible.

ALL of this.

Not to be a dick but I hope a lot of people with Gold VIP are paying attention to what people Mr. Redman is saying. He's telling you wait to expect in advance so no one is disappointed. I don't mean to come off harsh, but I can just see threads flooding starting this Saturday with people complaining that they didn't get something from Goold VIP that they expected but weren't promised.

Thanks bud! Btw, speaking of Vegas...what I messaged you about on FB didn't work out, it didn't save properly. So bummed. May try it again. ;)

And yeah, I can also see things being flooded saturday morning "I didn't get this" "I didn't get a meet & greet" etc etc. The only things you're gonna get are what the website says. You're going to have to wait a bit for the poster though, I'm still waiting on two shirts for the Las Vegas packages.

All I can say is don't expect anything other than  what gnr.com says. You won't get into an aftershow, you won't get a drink ticket, and you won't meet any of the band with the current packages. If you're lucky enough to wait around after the show and after the aftershow - you just may meet some of the boys.

You just mentioned a stub being mailed for Silver!   :) As I understood the Gold package does come with a commemorative ticket stub/souvenir laminate/lithograph.  I bought Silver so I believe that I will be getting the lithograph in the mail and that's it.

GNR's site says they get in early... they'll get in early. What I'm pointing out is people that are hoping that something else comes along with the laminate.

got an email yesterday from GroundCTRL that the goods and ticketsstubs arrived in there wharehouse that morning.
And since i'm from abroad if i could provide my address for the stay in NY. I told them to send it there only if they can guarantee that it will be there between the 9th and 13th, otherwise i would be on my way home again.

you don't need the stub for access do you? Since i had to give my name for the VIP list.

sorry the exact email was this:
The tickets for your Guns N'Roses event on February 10th arrived at our warehouse this morning and they are currently being processed for shipping. Since you provided us with an international address, we were hoping that you could provide us with the address of where you will be staying in the US so that we can overnight the tickets to you.

Sincerely,
ground(ctrl) Support

I'm happy there are three shows before my two so I can observe how things are handled for the NY shows and by then it should be pretty clear on what to expect.

Ain't that the truth! I'm gonna sit, watch and wait til about Tuesday or next week. No disrespect to those GN'R fans kicking things off this Friday, but I'm glad my show(s) are over a week later.

I ordered tickets through gnr.com for the '06 Rosemont show, and it was sent to me beforehand.  The main issue really is - if the we need the ticket to get in and it doesnt arrive...what then?

As far as my original post goes, I'm not expecting more than the ticket and litho...the sales team just insinuates there to be more.

The silver VIP gets a litho & stub.

I already read it, that is why I am confused that you say that Silver comes with a stub when it does not.  Silver only comes with one GA ticket that you pick up at will call and one lithograph that comes in the mail later.

The GN'R Camp are installing quite a but o' confidence in the USPS.

When I checked out for the Silver package the only thing they are sending in the mail is the lithograph via USPS.  The options were UPS w/tracking for around $15 or First Class USPS without tracking for around $14.  The actual tickets are not being sent through the mail for anyone as far as I know.  It was never an option or I would have paid extra.  If the lithographs are ready later then it will only take 3-4 days for them to arrive once they are mailed.  If you ordered the Gold package then you should get the souvenir ticket stub with the lithograph.  I use USPS most every day for work and First Class is usually only 2-3 days to anywhere is the US.

Gnr.com when you placed the order said the ticket and litho will be mailed to you after the show. What's so confusing about that?!

From gnr.com

"Please note that your concert ticket and lithograph will be mailed to you"

We will have the ticket/stub whatever it may be mailed out. For entry, we check in at Will Call & from there we will get out entry into the venues that night.

Adman - yes. The first night in Vegas they didn't but that was because of Monster (they had the room that groundctrl was supposed to have). The second night everything was flawless. And the groundctrl guys were super fucking cool to chill with & bullshit around.

I emailed ground control and was told my tIcket will be mailed in a couple days...

If all I need is an ID and confirmation to get in, cool.  If I need a ticket and I drive 3 hours for the show and haven't gotten one, I'll be pissed.

Calling someone and taking 10 minutes to sort out a few details, rather than trying to find out through a forum with people that may just be guessing, may help you!

Redman has done this a few times before, so I believe what he is saying.

If you are still confused at what he is saying, call them up.

Ask them your exact question, "Do I need just ID and confirmation to get in, or do I need a ticket which will make me drive 3 hours..." etc. etc.

I'm sure they will be of help to you, they helped me when I have used them in the past for Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, and whoever else I forget.

: ok:

Glad you posted this because then I am only partially losing my mind.  Sorry if I got anything mixed up!  The only thing is when I bought 2 Silver VIPs it stated at checkout that only the lithograph would be mailed and I would need to bring my photo ID to pick up tickets at will call.  There really was no option to have tickets sent through the mail, even though it claims that on the screenshot.

You may want to keep this as a "cut & paste" , seems people aren't getting it.

I think I'm going to save "You were never told you would" as a macro for Saturday morning and beyond when the "I DIDN'T GET TO MET AXEL!!!!111!!1!1!!" threads and posts start up.

I've met enough musicians that I'd rather my opinion of my favorite band not be tainted.  I was a huge megadeth fan until I learned Dave Mustaine really is a douchebag.

Read?  ???

Which part am I supposed to read in the above picture?  ???

Just kidding.  ;)

I think we've all read it. The issue is that it was never clarified as to if we needed the ticket to get into the show or not. I got my ticket today - ONE day before the show. Seems like they cut it pretty close, so I'm assuming that you don't need the ticket to get in and just sign in and get your own VIP entry pass at Will Call. But none of that was ever clarified by the GNR site.

I really had no confusion till I just got my ticket and poster.  My email for silver VIP at termal 5 said will call.  Does silver VIP get more than that? Do we get in different than regular tickets?

Michael's craft stores always have coupons for 60% off custom framing. It would probably be around $100.

you can do that but I would , go to AC Moore and buy the frame yourself, they come in several sizes, cost you less than 20 bucks, I frame a ton of stuff like autographs and artwork I make of bands and the frames hold up great.
