Title: GNR Concert Collectibles (Drumsticks, Nightrain whistle, etc.)
Post by: Ja5oN on December 12, 2014, 01:19:25 PM

I am wondering about some of the GNR Concert Collectibles people have gathered over the years.  I would assume guitar picks are one of the most common, of which I have none.  I was able to get Axl?s Mic in Toronto and a Whistle in Vegas.  I have seen people after the concert with drumsticks, but have never seen them being given out.
Does Frank throw them out after Paradise or throughout the concert?

Has Axl ever thrown the Nightrain wooden whistle out?  I always see it going to the side stage to staff.

What other collectables from the concert are out there?  Jagar bottles from DJ and Toys from Buckethead spring to mind.  What kind of toys did he pass anyway?

Can we stick to "free concert collectables" in this discussion.  I have the poker chips and VIP laminates and posters, but I am more interested in concert goods where it went from a band member's hand to the audience hands.

I've been to 13 shows and it wasn't until the last two (Newcastle and Brisbane 2013) that I actually caught something other than getting a setlist after the show. At the Newcastle show I scored Frank's drumstick and Axl's microphone, and in Brisbane, Bumble threw me a pick.

Did you get the drumstick before or after the group bow?

Where's the mic now and how did you store/display it?

When Dj helped out Frank on drums on Madagascar, he would then throw out some drumsticks during the song.

Other things that have been passed out. Drinks. Monster Energy, water.

Tequila shots and Water. Axl tossed a pair of shades out opening night (maybe second night?) of No Trickery. Picks, and drum sticks as Jarmo said DJ would toss two out during Madagascar, sometimes Frank will toss some out at the end of a show (I've gotten two personally that way). Frank has also tossed out his Monster/GNR wrist bands and I've seen DJ throw his bandana and a robe out.

AXL's shades would be EPIC!!
Man that would be cool to add to a collection.

I know there was a bandanna out there at one time for sale but hard to verify originality.

I think AXL should sign the mic pre-show too.  It happens at almost every show and there is the swap right before the toss, so you know which mic is going out.

Madagascar hasn't been played since 2012 maybe 2013 i think.....I saw "chewed up" drum sticks being carried out of #NoTrickery so I know they were coming off stage.

Although it wasn't the purpose of this post I am really curious as to what Buckethead gave out now.  I remember after the nun-chuck dance he had a santa sack and handed out toys to the audience.....at least in Ottawa at the show I was at.

Frank tossed me the stick just after the bow.

The mic is sitting on my mantle, occasionally taken down for my Son to sing Paradise City into it. I want to get a glass case for it.

Awesome.  My daughter sings Nightrain into mine.  Never found a good case yet.  I have it in a desktop microphone stand.
