Was actually at numerous shows where Baz was a guest, I still think he ran his mouth about GNR a great deal too much IMO.

In your opinion.  Axl didn't seem to mind.

SEBASTIAN BACH 'Saves' AXL ROSE From Knife-Wielding Man

Chaos was narrowly averted at an intimate Guns N? Roses concert when a man with a knife was tackled by ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach.
The mystery man casually pulled out what appeared to be a switchblade knife as he walked into the packed and uber-exclusive ?Nur Khan?s Rose Bar Sessions? at the Gramercy Park Hotel on Sunday.

But Bach, who was standing near the door, immediately got the stranger thrown out of the bash, which was attended by a host of stars including Mickey Rourke.

A witness reports, ?The man walked in while Guns N? Roses was onstage and pulled out a knife and flicked the blade out. Sebastian, who was standing on a banquette said: ?Nobody is getting anywhere near my man Axl Rose with a knife,? and went after him. Security then immediately threw him out. The man appeared to be drunk. It was dealt with so quickly that none of the other guests or the band were aware of it.?

I remember this- I was at that Rose Bar show.  : ok: Any particular reason you are posting news stories from 2010?

Friend of mine made a funny video on why dogs aren't allowed in Gramercy Park.  :hihi:

Friend of a friend got me in-by default, someone else couldn't make it. I know a lot of people in NYC, do not recall the Baz incident at all-I read about it the next day in the news.

Wasn't a long set,  in front of a fireplace and was an open bar  : ok:

Here's a new interview with Sebastian.  He's asked about singing Welcome To The Jungle with Kings of Chaos.  He talks about being on tour with GN'R, and Axl.

He says he will be doing some shows next month with Duff and Matt.

I concur.

I took a few young'uns to see GNR a few years ago in part to help explain that they really were a different beast than the rock dinosaur hams that they believed.

So Baz comes out like a bad B-grade movie screaming '2010 (or 7 I forget) MOTHER TRUCKERRRRSSS'.......mother truckers eh? sheesh. It went downhill from there. other than the music being woeful everything he said lowered the IQ of anyone who didn't eat crayons.

They all collectively turned to me and pissed themselves laughing.

BAZ was terrible. Nothing to do with art and a whole lot to do with a being the personification of meathead rock 'dude'.

That's a funny review of an opening act at a concert. No mention of what he's there to do, which is to sing.

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, tastes differ. It's fine.
But there's more to an opening act than what the singer says on stage or the way he acts....  :hihi:

Ha ha, yeah, he did this at the show I went to. Real cheesey. He did the whole "I can't hear you!" and "Do you wanna rock" and all that.

I think with Baz is part of (a) being a product of that 80s hair metal and (b) he's always seemed to act a little bit like a caricature of that past self. I think he's trying to poke a little fun at himself by being self-deprecating. Of course, I don't know the dude, so . . .

Either way, you got a funny story to tell out of it. LOL

I like baz. He has an aura of goodness. And I wish all the best to him. He's really nice down to earth guy... and he's really enthusiastic about his music.
Its hard making money singing rock in this RNB days... and I'm happy that he keeps it up.

So he is only there to 'sing'?
I said the music was woeful and additionally his behavious was infantile and cringeworthy. His voice was a long way lacking from his prime as well. So if I had have said the exact opposite to the above that would be deemed ok? Sorry it was a bad look for a support act to a band intending to be relevant IN MY OPINION. that is all. Just my opinion but I think it was shared by a loy of people. Just as having Vanilla Ice opening would offer some guilt by association. That's all I'm saying.

Well, yeah.... I mean, do you want to see an opening act that performs good or just dances for you? ;)

That was my point for people who only commented on what Baz said or how he acted.

I'm not sure if Baz and his band were there because they're relevant. The shows I saw with them opening they did a great job of getting the crowd going. Which kinda is why there's the opening act(s).

I don't see how anybody can criticize his voice, impressive range and power- he is a great opener for GNR, imo.

My gripe was simply that he used to run his mouth about GNR a little too much for my taste- very subjective and only my opinion.

To this day, I remain a huge fan of Baz era Skid Row.

'Slave To The Grind' is still a desert album for me.  Even though I bought the cassette back when I was only 13.  Still love, love, love that album.

Shit, I even like a few tunes from 'Subhuman Race'.

What I am trying to establish here is that despite him being dated, not relevant in forever...I still love the guy.  GREAT voice for his (admittedly, musically limited) genre

But, I can't get all that worked up if people roll their eyes at him.  I actually tell people about my love for the STTG album with no shame.  It rarely, if ever, gets me an "atta guy".  I did meet one guy once that, once I told him that, actually started quoting 'Wasted Time'.  He might be the only one though.

I heard Skid Row this past weekend at the NJ Food Truck Festival. They were good, but not great. They need Baz there.
