He looks really good and sharp. Whether he has any sort of facial hair is really irrelevant. The main thing is composing his stamina throughout the shows. I would rather have him just standing there and singing rather than running around at his age.

He really does look younger without the beard! And as someone said, that cross tattoo maybe need a  little touch up! ;)

In regards to the tattoo is that just general fading over the years or did he try to have it somewhat covered up or blacked out?

Fading. It looked darker as early as 1992.

He looks like Axl, that's good enough for me.

Ink fades and spreads- especially older ink, you can have tattoos retouched but there isn't much cure for them fading and spreading, which results in them looking darker.

I have one on my shoulder from 1990 and it looks like a flower-shaped bruise now.

It totally looks like he had it covered up.  Then The dark ink used to cover it up is now fading. 

He does however look good.   Every picture I see of him being out in public he has a water bottle.  One thirsty guy.

The entire tattoo was blacked over - which is why you can still see the blonde in Duff's hair and Izzy's skull in 2002. Right.....Makes perfect sense.

That tattoo is over 30 years old. Tattoos from back then bled together over time more than the ones now (advances in needles & ink have helped big time; you want to see even more extreme bleeding--look at the ones on the old dudes from WW2. You can't tell what any of them are. But they're still cool because it was more badass to get one back then ). Even so, I always thought Axl had the coolest tattoos in all of rock. I remember when GnR came out; hardly anybody had multiple tattoos. Now everybody and their sister has full sleeves. I think he looks pretty good in the photo. 3 more weeks...

He looks great I'm xcited, I love his t-shirt, he's gonna kick ass on this tour. I do agree that if it was me doing the biggest tour in the world I would have done my very best to slim down as much as possible but whatever he looks fine to me.

Hmm, not really.

2007 was when he retouched the tattoo.  There's no cover up or edits to the original tat.  Just bad lighting etc and the obvious over the year fadings that has to be touched up, however it'll never be how it was.

He heard from a very reliable source with contacts within the band that Axl will front AC/DC for the remaining 10 shows.

The GN'R camp got in contact with Jason Bailey to have a meeting of sorts, as he couldn't reveal all of the information he is sitting on.

He also got information on the tour start for GN'R (dates). That was the main concern of the GN'R PR person in contact with Jason, he couldn't share that.

It would be epic really... the amount of publicity for Axl and GNR... Coachella/Vegas... ACDC and then the full GNR tour....with Slash and Duff...

It does not make sense to me to prioritize ACDC agenda over GNR. But I agree, smoke is getting thicker... if confirmed could be a major promotion for ACDC and GNR also.

I think it would be amazing to see Axl in an element outside of GNR... have always said that.

Plus... 10 shows... not a long time... if they are in between Coachella and the GNR summer tour... monster exposure for everybody.

That's my main concern as well... seems like a distraction once GN'R is getting momentum.

Then I thought about it, we figured the GN'R tour won't start until June or July at the earliest. 10 shows with AC/DC would be done with within a month. If those shows get rescheduled to say May, it's doable.

It would certainly gain a lot of publicity for Axl and GN'R. I'm nowhere sure about this rumor being true though.

This thing wouldn't have come up until quite recently when the news of Brian came out. Maybe GNR's original plan was to have the full tour published by now, but this opportunity with AC/DC came up, and they've been working out the schedule to see how it fits with GN'R ? they had to postpone the GNR tour announcement for that reason.

It kinda fits in with the fact that Slash originally was scheduled to work on the next SMKC album in May.

I disagree, I was actually in Attendance at the last GNR shows in Vegas 2014 and they were exemplary and memorable, he sounded great.

I just want an Axl I don't have to make excuses for.  To tell people not to trust their own lying eyes and ears and take my word its awesome.  That's a laugh line outside these forums.

Also never one that had to be uttered on the 06-07 or 09-10 tours.  Somehow, some way...video clips were completely reliable then.

Starting in 2011, said clips could no longer be trusted.  Hmm...wonder why?  Must have been one of all too frequent times technology degraded over time.  That's all I can figure.

I've seen Axl 9 times since 2002, the music was so loud and the vocals were mixed so low that you could hardly tell that anything was wrong.  Only on slower songs like November Rain it was overly obvious.  I can imagine people coming home and hearing the same thing on you tube with maybe the vocals a little clearer, and thinking 'hey I don't remember it that way!'.  But I've never understood them going 'youtube clips are unreliable!'.  That's just ridiculous.

Exactly. Axl?s voice changes from tour to tour, or at least era to era. And it?s quite a mystery, because it?s not just necessarily worse as he is getting older ? it was actually getting better and better from 2002 to 2010. I see no reason why we should pretend that he sings the same way all the time. This is a fan internet forum, right?

The second a clip goes up where he sounds iffy, you can't swing a dead cat and not hit 10 people here that will tell you not to trust it.  Yet if a clip goes up where he sounds great, suddenly, you can go ahead and trust that.

If you think I'm just pulling this out of my ass, I will direct you to the most recent touring.  The clips from South America were a horror show.  We were told to pay them no mind, because they don't tell the tale.  Mere months later, there is a clip of him doing 'Prostitute' from the 6-6-14 show, and he really does kill it.  Yet, somehow, that second clip lacked those qualifiers that you should not trust what you hear and that it was inaccurate.

Its just such a transparently comically flawed argument.  I can't imagine any of these people play poker.

Definitely, but it did sound weird, and the rasp was mostly gone. 2006 was a huge comeback, and 2010 - when I thought it could not be any better - it actually got even better, at least to me.

He is older, and his voice isn't as good as it used to be, but it is still good. I would rather him just take it easy and come in killer. I want this to be incredible. Especially for newer fans that aren't familiar with Gn'R.

Him doing ACDC doesn't sound like him. Hard to think he'd do a whole 10 shows in someone else's band as a guest. Who knows. It would be cool I guess. As long as it doesn't screw with Gn'R stuff who cares.

I actually thought he sounded great on 'Whole Lotta Rosie' and 'Riff Raff' from the past few years.

Probably because Axl + GNR hasn't happened in 2016 yet. It's not unheard of that Axl doesn't attend GnR rehearsals and it's still under 2 weeks til the first show(s).

Wouldn't someone in the AC/DC camp have had to have tipped TMZ off in order for them to have a photographer on location that day?
