Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist IZZY STRADLIN Backs Out Of NEW YORK DOLLS Reunion Show - May 7, 2004 Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin has backed out of his participation in the upcoming NEW YORK DOLLS reunion show, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. Although Izzy had originally agreed to fill in for late axeman Johnny Thunders at NEW YORK DOLLS' upcoming concert at London's Meltdown Festival in June, he pulled out of the deal when he learned that plans existed for the band to do additional dates ? a prospect that would have required of Stradlin to learn more of the group's catalogue and to dedicate more of his time than was willing to set aside for the collaboration. Asked by Rolling Stone magazine last month if there were any plans for a full-blown DOLLS reunion or any sort of comeback tour beyond the June concert, singer David Johansen said, "We'll just dip in a toe and see how the water is," he says. Title: Re:Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist Backs Out Of NEW YORK DOLLS Reunion Post by: NickNasty on May 08, 2004, 03:53:09 PM The thing is Izzy doesn't care about the fame, or money, or anything, just playing music the way he wants to and when he wants to, I don't think he's made any REAL big stink against Axl, Slash or anybody over the last few years...I have no problems with Izzy, he signed up to do one date, the Dolls wanted to do more, he didn't want to...I doubt he wanted that much publicity for his part anyways.
