Guns N' Roses will be playing a Download warm up gig at the Hammersmith Apollo in London (UK) on 7th June 2006.

We will be organising another pre-sale list. It will be done the same way it was before.

People on the list will get a one hour window to buy tickets.

Guns N'Roses have announced a very special one-off date in the UK as a warm up for their appearance at this year's Download Festival.

The band will return to London Hammersmith Apollo on June 7 for their first show at the venue in almost 20 years.

Last time they performed at the indoor venue was during their 'Appetite For Destruction' tour under G N'R's original line-up in 1987.

The gig will be Guns n' Roses first in the UK since they performed at the London Arena on August 26 2002.

Tickets for the show are priced ?37.50 and will go on sale on Friday May 19 at 9am.

Support will come from Californian rockers Avenged Sevenfold.

I am sure it does... Of course there will be some tensions... That is normal. People get nervous. It is not easy to stand in front of people after so many years. I am sure everyone wants the best for this band and they are giving all to it... Tensions means that there are emotions... That is cool.

Ticketrush.co.uk are using new technology which sends the tickets directly to phones, which are scanned on entry to the venue.

It will cost you ?37.50 plus a booking fee to see the band.

If I remember rightly from the NY pre-sale stuff; mysteron or someone from management puts up a link to somewhere you can obtain a password which will allow you to book tickets online during a one hour window.

Have registered for pre-sale for one ticket - one golden ticket!!! ?Hammersmith is an AWESOME venue if anyone hasnt been before. ?I've seen Bowie there and the atmos is fantastic. ?Floor is on a slope so shorties like me can see from anywhere. ?Capacity is 5,000 approx, standing plus 2 tiers of seating.

What you really need is an Axl on stage in 10 minutes signal. ?Why waste all that valuble drinking time.

I'm a long-time member of MyGNR forum (http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showuser=6836) and I used your form to sign up for pre-sale as I'm desperate to see GNR live when they rock the UK. Because I've just joined this forum, does that mean I might not get a chance at pre-sale? I know there was a field for other forum info so I put in my MyGNR stuff, I hope that's enough! hi i just called hammersmith, they said that the tickets for gnr go on sale over the phone this friday morning, the 19th, so when does the presale start????

is it a couple of hours before, a day before???
i wasn't involved in the presale for new york (i live in scotland) so i've no idea!!

I'm going to Download but would love to see them at a small venue, though the 7th is a bit close for me to travel 4+ hours up to London, stay over night and come back again on the 8th when I leave for Donington the next day. And if they do an arena tour in July I'd like to catch a date then too.... ahh it's all time time, money money :P

He he, yeah its an awkward date, we have coach tickets booked for download on the 7th from Manchester. The new plan is not do the extra day at download, see gnr in London, stay the night and get a coach to download from London. ?8)

Bastards, so I pay 135 quid for a Download ticket just so I can watch Tool and GNR and now this. So now Tool and Guns are playing 2 small amazing gigs in London which I cant go to. Instead I'll have to spend 3 days watching Emo bands and watching fucking Korn when I really didnt have to. Happy days.

Any ideas when the pre sale might go on sale? I'm travelling for work Friday, I can definitely buy the tickets at the assigned time, I just need to know when the assigned time is so I can arrange to be there. I hope it's the situation where you're emailed an exclusive link that's valid for 24 hours only valid for the number of tickets requested. That takes all the hell of wearing out my F5 "Look For Tickets" button on an overloaded server.

If we register and then it turns out we can't go does that mean other people wont get the chance to take part in it? I need to know when the deadline for signing up for presale is?

I work as a Doctor, so have been at work all day- now I miss this! Wouldn't most UK fans have been at work during this? Great thought anyway guys, I'm sure everyone appreciates it.

I'm so annoyed, I know that's the rules and all, but some of us are huge fans waiting patiently for a gig and I can't get to download due to work. No way anyone can help me out?

Looks like you wont get a chance to buy them if you didn't register today before the pre-sale ended. I know if i get any tickets and have any spare (if any friends pull out) then i'll be selling them for face-value to fellow board members. And i hope that if idon't manage to get one, that some will sell me one!!
Hopefully as many real fans as possible will get the tickets and no money making bastards will get their hands on them!

Is it a significant number, vs the 5000 capacity? I'll have to be hammering the ticket site come 8.59am on friday. Any tips learnt from the NY sales?

Hopefully the organisers of the pre-sale had a set number of tickets on offer and worked out how many people had signed up and how many tickets they each wanted and then closed the pre-sale early when they had all gone. meaning (in theory) that everyone who signed up should get their tickets

So long as people on the pre-sale don't decide to buy more tickets than they originally requested, that would be very unfair :(

Isn't ?37.50 plus service charges a bit steep for a warm up show? The first VR shows at the same venue were around 20 quid all in! And don't give me any bollocks about NU G'n'R being worth almost double what VR were - Slash and co are every bit as big a draw as Axl and the hired hands... ?:beer:

Hopefully the price will mean slightly lower early demand and we can all go.

Realistically, it's higher as GnR often demand, as with all large bands, big fees from promoters so they recoup those from the fans.

its higher as gnr can sell out in 3 mins where as vr tickets could stay on sale for a few weeks

I'm a registered member of mygnrforum and have been since Jan 2005. I signed up for presale tickets. However, how do the people sending out the emails KNOW that I've been a member since jan 2005? Did we have to paste a link to our profile when we were filling out the form?? 'Cos I didn't do that ?:nervous:

edit: my mum has a ticketmaster priority card which has a number you can call and a number I guess you'd have to quote as well. Can that card be used?

I just hope someone who knows how long I've been with the community can do a fan a favour if they find themselves with an extra ticket.

WTF is with this perception that b/c you have been on a G'n'R messageboard forever that you should be granted 'VIP status' to show tickets?

How about those, like me, who were at the first Marquee shows, Donington 88 and the UYI shows. Those that bought AFD when it first came out when the band was unknown? The perception is that these shows are for the longtime fans, like you and me both. The best way to find them, though not ideal, is through internet boards at the moment.

So I'd just like to thing that people like you and me get tickets, as Jarmo says, rather than scalpers. Frankly I don't care if somebody never posts and joined lasst week gets tickets- I'd far rather a genuine fan got them than a rip-off merchant.

Just to ask when I filled in the thing I put I was a member over at beenafix which I am but it was hacked so I don't know the date I joined because everyone had to reregister so I just put 2003 but I haven't got the date, do you think that's a problem?

Fair comment if you're a long time fan, but i don't believe these message boards serve the long termers like us all that well. Look at the amount of members here that don't really even know what G'n'R is all about, but they'll be amongst the first to get a ticket and then happily slag off Slash and co by stating the new Guns are better than the original item, Axl is God, too many tracks from AFD being played bla bla bla.

Personally, i have to say the way Pearl Jam do it is a benchmark to which all bands like Guns should adhere. They give priority to members of their fan club with discounts etc for those that have been with the band for a long time. Frankly, i don't think Axl and co are showing any comapassion or respect to their longtime fans by charging upwards of 40 pounds for a warm-up club show that's open to all! The scalpers will still have a field day as ever...

Absolutely- PJ have always been great to their fans- exclusive tracks, loads of live recordings available, official bootlegs. That kind of fan club set up would be great, but this is second best. We'd be even more screwed over by the scalpers if this didn't happen. Though part of the problem is that most of us who were old enough to remember the old band have loads of commitments to work and things!

Nothing can be perfect though- I just appreciate some effort being made for us.

Hey mate come on thats not really fair! I have been a guns fan since 1986, seen the band in concert many a time and been through all the good times and the bad. Now whlist I agree to a certain degree with you that there are a lot of people on the fan sites that have not been guns fans for as long as hardcore ones like ourselves, it does not really give us any more right to be fans than them. It just shows the class of the band that they can still keep attracting new and younger audiences over the years! Lets just all be happy that it is a great time to be a guns fan, and be very very happy that they are coming to play in London! And as for the money side, who cares eh! 40 quid thats way less than a night out on the lash! Mike

I'm not saying that long termers have any more right to be a fan, i'm saying we are the ones the band should be rewarding first and foremost for sticking with them for 20 years and that a 20 quid show organised in the way PJ do it would be far better and fairer than this pre-sale stuff that is as open to newbies and messageboarders who actually slag off the original members as to anyone else.

The fact that i paid 20 sheets to see VR at the same venue however is my main grumble - and as any real fan knows Slash is just as famous, exciting and relevant as Axl, despite what the nu Guns fans (especially the Americans) would have us believe.  : ok:

PJ's two recent club warmup shows were open to all as well and had plenty of tix up on ebay. PJ had people camped out all night at Tower records to get tix to the NYC show, not sure how that is caring for your fans, seems more like a publicity stunt to me.  PJ did do the Letterman aftershow for their fans which was cool but still PJ's way with tickets isn't perfect.

I live in Oxford buddy, home to all the snobby University folk! Trust me Oxford is just as expensive as London for a night out! I either drink Red Bull & Vodka 5 quid a glass or Budweiser 3.50 a bottle!

As to the rest of your post! I take your point and fair play, well said! I do tend to agree with you, but I think I am just happy to see Guns N Roses getting so much attention from a new audience nowadays that I tend not to worry how long someone has been a fan! I only get pissed off when you get the younger generation of guns fan try and be opinionated and think they know it all about the band, like a certain few on this message board, other than that I just think fair play to them that they have become fans of the greatest band of our generation!
