No their listed on the Geffen website not the polydor one, which means they are on Geffen Records.

If they made a move like that I really think there would be an announcement of some sort. Never know though you could be right. But I still highly doubt it.

Yep, I'm sorry to say HMV has a habit of doing this with various releases not just Chinese Democracy. The release date is pure conjecture on their part.

I think its strange that no one noticed that GnR is listed on Polydor's homepage  ???

maybe CD will be released by Polydor and they are only listed at geffen because Greatest Hits was a Geffen release...

I'm a little more optimistic about this date than other past release date rumors because:
-The band is touring well into the summer and a US fall tour may be planned.
-The band have said new album in the fall.

Ok I see now why its listed as Polydor. Polydor records distributes the records of Interscope etc bands in the UK. That's why its listed as Polydor on the hmv UK website.

Edit: Got beat to it..damn!

But seriously:

1) It's certainly not an official date

2) While Geffen IS the bands label, Polydor might do the distribution in the UK (remember, you're looking at the UK HMV site).

3) Sanctuary is NOT the bands label.? Their the bands management.? As has been the case for quite some time.

4) Polydor is a UK only label, and if they're doing the distribution in the UK for the album, it stands to reason the band would be on their home page.

5) A monday release in the UK would make sense, no?? Aren't all releases on Monday in the UK?

Edit: And I know I was beat to the punch on some of the above stuff......I was reading and writing simultaneously.

We will get the album before America (A day before), that's usually the way. However it will leak probably a month before that release date. When it does i'm not gonna touch it though, I want to enjoy the other 6 or so songs we haven't heard yet with the booklet in my hands  : ok:

HMV always fantasize about release dates on their website unfortunately so I won't put to much faith into it until we hear from the man himself

HMV, famed for their dog logo, are today famed for their bull.

We reported earlier that HMV have listed Chinese Democracy on their website here. According to them, it will be released on 13-11-2006.

Merck Mercuriadis has confirmed though that date listed on the site is bullsh*t.

Ok I see now why its listed as Polydor. Polydor records distributes the records of Interscope etc bands in the UK. That's why its listed as Polydor on the hmv UK website.

OK I apologize

Edit: Appears Merck has said that the date is bullshit I withdraw my apology!  :)

If anything else leaks, I'm downloading it, unless we have an official release date.

haha I would even download the whole album if it leaks on day before the official release date. I mean what's the problem? Next day I buy the album anyway. We have waited enough

Polydor is most likely the European distributor of the album.  Geffen/ Interscope will be the US distributor.  Many bands with international appeal use seperate distributors (usually part of the same company) to sell their albums in multiple parts of the world.

?9.99 that's cheap for an album. Normally new albums are ?16.95
maybe they want to release the album cheap as there are 2 more discs to follow, or maybe the price will go up nearer release. Maybe they will keep the price cheap to make sure people buy the album opposed to downloading it. The thing i really want to see is the cover, as i just love art work

If it were real(which I doubt), Merek wouldn't confirm it until the planned date to reveal the release.

Hi All,

Take this with however much salt that you need, however, while in HMV yesterday, outta curiosity, I asked if they had a release date for CD, they returned to say "yes, November" I asked "this year?" and yup, November 13th 2006 apparently.

Guess its wait and see time then eh? (no change there eh? lol)

I wouldn't put any faith in that, personally. The only place that HMV could get a release date from is the distributor, who can only give a tentative shipping date based on pure speculation. Until the album is printed, it's just guesswork no matter who it comes from. When the band delivers the album and Interscope or whomever runs the numbers, then we'll get a (still tentative) date. End. Of. Discussion.

I may be wrong but new releases are usually on Tuesdays....The date listed is a Monday?  November 14th is a Tuesday.

Well, I think this maybe correct.  Europe will get the CD on the 13th, and the U.S. on the 14th.  The best time to release an album is the the week or two weeks before Holliday shopping kicks in, and the malls are packed!  A mid November release makes sense.

I read an article with Axl after Rio in 01 and he mentioned it would be out the summer of 01

I was watching Behind the Music the other day and there was a release date for November 2004 mentioned.

Slash told an interviewer that CD was coming out March of 06.

Not to be a prick, but rumors are all we've had for 10 years.? Yes it makes since for a release this November, but it's made sense for this album to have been release since 2000 when the title was 2000 Intentions.

I'll wait for a date from Universal.?

No, it wasn't. ::)

It was the working title before the name "Chinese Democracy" which was first mentioned in 1999.
