Do not post here if you got tickets until AFTER the pre-sale.

We don't need to give certain people ideas about who knows what.

Just wanted to drop a thanks to Jarmo and Mysteron.
I got my 2 tickets, and me and my wife are going on the 16th.

The energy is going to be incredible....Surely will be the
best concert of my life.

Just wanted to add, someone mentioned there was a hotel
called Alexandria right across from Hard Rock...Well Its actually
called Alexis Resort, and its around $130-$150 a night..Some
rooms come with a jet-spa....Very reasonable.

Still not sold out yet.  Not surprising considering they are $150 a piece.

Title: Re: September 16 - Las Vegas, NV @ The Joint
Post by: axlroses on August 20, 2006, 12:08:57 AM
I would think they won't sell this one out or not until right before the show with these ticket prices.  It isn't like this is near new years or anything special and the prices are high.  I get why considering the venue is small, but it makes it more difficult to sell out.

I got my Tickets! Rock in fucking role. Jarmo...send me an address so I can send you a gift basket brother.

It will be me and the Mrs. I want to party with you fuckers before the show to so lets work something out. Standing in line seems unnecessary. We are all getting in. Fuckety fuck...I am so high on seeing GNR! How do we work out a meetup?

But I am definitely there motherfuckers...FUCK YEA!

Just mentioned this to my friend today.  I had to beg my friend and my brother to go to the HOB show way back when.  Now, there are eleven people through my brother and friend who are going to the hard rock shows (and the possibility of more).  Whoever doesn't think that the new gnr isn't gaining a new following, just look at that.

As a newb, we semi-officially gave up in 2002, I flew home from Iowa for one show...and they cancelled the tour the night before they were supposed to play our show.  yeah, we got our money back for the tickets, but not for airfare or the hotel (which we couldn't cancel due to a 48 hr. notice deal on the hotel's end).  When we discovered there were tickets to the NYC shows, my friends dubbed me their 'official representative' at the show, since I was the only one that was able to make it last minute.

Took me a while to finally register here (did so to thank those that posted info about the NY shows for a lurker like myself), I never post anything on any forum, perhaps once a month if I'm lucky, I just lurk in the corners.

anyhoo, this is a pic of my friend and i who will be attending the show on 9/16 (sorry for the wedding garb, she's the one getting hitched, i'm in the blue, and sorry it isn't a better pic of us, i'm having issues finding a picture of the two of us when where not falling off bar stools...i'll edit this if i encounter one).

I've been a hardcore fan since 1991.....And it would've been much earlier had it not been a eastern european country where i grew up. Any western rock&roll records were forbidden until 1990.

I may not be a long time member, but I am a long time fan.  I truley would have been a member along time ago, but I didn't like computers and wouldn't learn how to use one (hahaha) look at me now!!!  I have been a fan since 87, and flew to Portugal this year from U.S., just to see them at Rio.  Now I am on my way to see them again in Vegas, and pretty sure it won't be long after I get back, that I will see them again here in Seattle.  Met Jarmo while at Rio as well.  What a great experience.  Anyway if you are gonna be at the show on the 16th, look forward to hopefully meeting you!!!

Oh definitely. Everyone going better lock something down so we can all hook up, and not just pass each other by like strangers. Going to the German Brewery, eating and drinking more at the Rainbow...and going back to someones room who is staying next to the Hard Rock, for some of the finest greens in the land sounds like a cool as shit pre party to me.

Hopefully we can get something organized. I not really good at that kind of thing personally. But I will be there.

Sounds pretty awesome to me!! I am not a great organizer of such things either, but I would love to see a get together at the Rainbow, just cause that ties in to the whole GNR thing, even if it's not the origanal one, it would be close enough though!!  Not long to go, so hoping someone will organize something soon.

I will help organize if you like(Since I live in Vegas, might be a little easier).  I am all for going to the Rainbow as well, only problem is, all 1500 other concert goers probably will too.  Might be hard to find a seat.   I say meet up early for some beers at Haughbrahaus, head over to Rainbow after to get some food.  If it is too packed, I say we have a plan B for a backup.  If anyone wants my cell phone # let me know.

Cool Freaky...you're going! You seem like a genuine cool straight up dude. That's awesome. I am going up to Vegas Friday after work (Driving).

Regarding the tickets themselves, I did best available and it gave me the balcony. Is it worse being on the balcony? Anyone know?

And regarding the pre party. Anyone have a room right next to Hard Rock that wants to kick back for a bit and do a little smokey smokey?? :smoking:  A little group in a room before Rainbow. You know...feed the head, then the belly.

Where are you on the Balcony Buddha?  if you have the first row of tables, your good...the second row or standing room only will suck though.... go to www.hardrockhotel.com  and do a virtual tour of the joint, pick the VIP tour, and that will show you the view from the balcony. You'll have to count me out on the smokey smokey, lol. For some reason i Just cant do it. lol, I'll take a hit, then eat everything in sight, then wanna fall asleep, lol. I'll stick to the budweiser...you shouldn't have any problem finding a bunch of people though!!

Nice, where are you driving from again?  Balcony is iffy, front row is good but behind that you get blocked a lot by the people in front of you.  Hopfully they will let you move around.  I don't smoke, but I am down for hangin with everyone.

I believe even the balcony is GA, looking at the seating chart it seems to be the blue space above the reserved tables.  I thought that section was considered obstructed view though-

There are 3 sections to the balcony.? there is section 100 (front row) section 200 (2nd row) then GA (General admission 3rd row)? Generally section 100 is not sold to the public, it is reserved for hotel VIP's and friends of the band.

You don't, it just means GA floor.? The numbers on your ticket are just for recordkeeping-

I think the ticketmaster seating chart will give you a better idea, I believe the image on the right will apply for this show with the gray area being the floor GA

In the map you provided, the "dots" are the balcony.  The first two rows of dots are reserved tables.  Anyone with GA tickets on the balcony are behind those two rows of dots.  The entire floor is GA, except for the middle there is a reserved section for VIP's.  It is in the same section as the handicapped seating.

I am trying to remember, but when you go in, I know you have to go to the elevator inside the Joint to get upstairs. I just can't remember if they forced you to go up or not.  You might get lucky and be able to stay downstairs.

theres a chance you'll get lucky, but they do scan your ticket, and I do know that security sucks there (as in being hard asses all the time) just jump off the balcony, lol

Dont feel bad i got balcony213 row 2 i thought they would be decent second row in the balcony, and im going with a female who has never been to a rock show in her life. So i figure the floor would be alittle to much for her. And now im hearing all the obstructed view shit. well maybe it isnt that bad. does anyone have pictures from teh balcony at previous shows? I had balcony 1 seats at the hammerstein and they were very good.

At the Hammerstein shows they did check, I had balcony tickets and wanted to be on the floor and they were adamant and scanned every ticket and forced you upstairs, you weren't even allowed to go onto the floor to buy merchandise until after the show.  I have no idea if this will be the same.  Thankfully I found 2 short folks outside who actually wanted to sit in the balcony and I traded them for floors.  Where theres a will theres a way!

Dude met TOO! I am going with my wife. Never been to a GNR show and has only seen a concert from an actual seat assigned. I thought the sme thing. That being on the floor might be too much. I swear brother...if my view is obstructed someone's life will end. That will be one of the worst buzz kills ever, and high killers are my worst enemies. I am calling Hard Rock right now and have them explain this obstruction crap to me.

the obstructions are i believe that there will be people standing infront of you. and if your not on the railing over looking the crowd you can not see the entire stage. and theres a good chance that you could end up standing behind us.lol.
also if you look on that site look at the vip section thats the balcony. the forst sets of tables near the railing i think is for vips and family friends of the band. the second row back is were i'll be. and behind them were there are no chairs and tables thats were you'll be.

Shit sorry to be flooding here. Just got off with Hard Rock. She said the obstruction comes from motherfuckers standing up in front of you are what could be an obstruction.

So now I got a coupld questions before I contact Ticketmaster. When you are on the floor. How easy is it to get drinks without losing your place? Like once you are on the floor, I would imagine that going to get a drink is futile as you will no longer be up close.

Am I safe to assume that the balcony has its own bar? So it would at least be cool cause you have your own place on the balcony right? Fuck...But not getting to see them....would be really bad. I figured the balcony would be arched like stadium seating. I can't imagine why they would design it so if you aren't in the front row you can have your shit obstructed? That is crazy... I feel and Axl rant coming on....I better get home soon so I can chill the fuck out.

edit: shit sorry Pat...answered this too. So Pat...between me and you...Im fucking screwed right? And my 5'3'' wife is really not going to be able to see shit right?

What about the other inquiries I have here.

The Balcony does have its own bar...on the floor, losing your place while getting drinks shouldnt be a problem, you'll just have to work your way up again...but remember, this place is beyond tiny.....Hammerstein is HUGE compared this place...so even if your not "front row"  you're really fuckin close. I saw Motley Crue here about a year ago, and I was getting so many drinks, I just said fuck it and stood at the bar the whole time, and I didn't miss a thing, it was still very close compared to any other venue. This place is basically a bar without any tables in the middle.

yes if your on the floor and leave to get drinks or piss you will mostly likely lose your place, u move and someone moves up and thats how u get closer and closer to the stage. also it looks like the balcony area does have a seperate bar. also im think once the lights go down im moving as close to the balcony railing as possible. and maybe ill get lucky. im not letting some fuckers standing infront of me fuck up the show. i'm 6 foot!

Im 5'8'' and my wifes 5'3'' so we dont have the same benefit hieght wise. I luckily I guess, don't have an actual seat, so I will be trying to get to the railing too. Im sure everyone else will be too so I am hoping this wont get ugly. I wonder what is better...being in the middle of the floor, or being against the railing on the balcony....

I'm a big dude, the first two shows at the Hammerstein I was on the floor. Was sore as hell afterwards but had a great time and got real close to the stage. It was nice though to have the balcony seats the next two nights to recover. The pain in the ass with balcony seats are the people that think just because they dont feel like standing for the whole show, everyone else in their line of sight has to sit also.

Fuck, you just sat down for 2 hours waiting for the band to take the stage. Stand the hell up. Its a Rock n Roll show not frigging Barbara Streisand

I absolutely adored Mezz1 at the Hammerstein! I met really nice people and on the 2nd night I danced all night and I even got my picture in Rolling Stone. Hey it's tiny but it's in there! I am very tiny and I am in 205 so stand behind me! When I was in front at the Joint 5 years ago a really nice big guy protected me but I still had bruises on my chest from the rail! We can all meet a the preparty and go up together! I don't think I will be able to sit once the music starts!

Alright I am a horrible artist and I didn't have a lot of time, but this is basically how the balcony is set up.? just add a 2nd row of tables.? I think even the GA section has tables too.? No one usually stands up, most people sit.? Just imagine it with levels, 2nd row is higher, GA is higher. but the cealing is low so you won't be able to see the top of the stage from GA in balcony.? You ca nhardly see the regular stage, you will see Axl from about the waist up and be blocked by the heads of the people in front of you.?

Thanks for the illustration freak. So you telling me, people really shouldn't be standing and getting close to the railing on the balcony? The balcony is definitely better it seems for getting drinks, but I dont want to only see part of GNR. Fuck that! So everyone who doesnt have seats are suppose to stand up behind these tables?

On this page towards the middle they have a virtual tour of The Joint.? I would guess the balcony is behind the tour for the VIP section which has tables and a rail.?Click your mouse on it and you can swing it around for a 360 degree view-

Place looks really small I wouldn't be worried that much-

Well, the first row of tables is right up against the balcony rail.? The concerts I have been to, everyone sat at the tables, they didn't get up and lean over the balcony. I don't know if it's allowed, but the tables are right next to it.? The concerts I have been too, EVERY section in the Balcony had tables, even General Admission.? I was in the back row last concert, and it sucked.? The first two rows are ok, the back i didn't care for.? I could only see the band from the waist up and every time they went in front of someone in the 1st row of tables I couldn't see them.? This map, look at the green part, it shows where the 1st two rows of tables are, then there is GA seating behind them.? I have not been to a show there where they made the GA people stand, there has always been tables. But for this show it could be different.

100 section - VIP's only
200 section - Sold to the public
GA - Sold to the Public

It is all one big room in the balcony, it's not like the VIP section is roped off or anything, the usher will just not let anyone sit in the front row.? That has been my experience anyway.

I am totaly excited!!  Las Vegas is my favorite place to be, especially this trip, I'm sure everyone agrees.  Like in Portugal we all met up at the Hard Rock the night before Rio, and there was a great covers band there, it was so jammed packed I was concerned we were not gonna get in, but we did, I looked forward to meeting some of the people here on this board, and I did, the most important being "Jarmo" of course ;D.  So I guess that what I am getting at is when exactly is everyone gonna try to get together, and is it for sure at the german place and the Rainbow? My husband and I are the older generation GNR lovers, and are not really big partiers, but still would like to hook up and meet all of you I can.

yes, this is the plan i came up with for both days (as previously posted in the hotels thread)~

first we all meet the german hofbrau house.  approximate time 3-4pm (not too early so people can sleep in and what not)
then whoever wants can go to the rainbow to eat and (drink more maybe!) before heading to the hard rock across the street to wait in line or whatever you want till doors open!

and then... WE ROCK OUR ASSES OFF!!! \m/   \m/

is the floor at the hard rock ok to see the gnr show...
limited visibility is a concern....
or can u make ur way to the front...
how does it work?
When I saw them play at the Joint in 2001, it was easy to get right next to the stage.  We were in the very front and only about 5 feet away from Axl at times.  Get there early and you will be fine.

Hey everyone first time posting here but long time member! We are coming down from Calgary for both shows and had a few questions for those of you are familiar with the Joint. How early do you need to get there in order to have a good position on the floor or can you get there when the doors open and just make your way to the front? Also do you think it will be the full stage set ( drums upper level, video boards, pyro, etc ) or will it be just a basic set up?

I've been waiting for 4 years to get kicked in the nuts again!! Went to 4 shows in 02 ( including Vancouver/Riot ) had the best time of my life! Anyone from Calgary making the trip down? Look forward to meeting some of you! See you in Vegas!!!!! : ok:

It's a small room, so anywhere you are is pretty much fine. If you want to get right up front, I would get there a couple hours early. Most people we be out hitting the casino's before the show and probably won't go until late.

as soon as axl screams "You know where you are" half the room is going to all charge the front.

i wouldnt worry about getting there too early, most people will enter after 10 since they will not go on until atleast 11. Just move yor way up as close as you can. Alot people go get frinks and bathroom thats your chance to move up. I'd gues the same stage as the hammerstein with the drum setup and the second level, with the screens behind them.

Yup, I will be wandering in between 10:15 and 10:30 or so, I see no need to get in and smash upfront.  You can always move up as people get drinks and the place is so small anyway, I just can't see spending hours on a line.

I'm probably gonna go in at 8 "just in case"  who knows, it's highly doubtful, but Axl just may get a wild hair up his ass and wanna go on on time, lol. But I will spend that time at the Bar in the joint. It's  easy to get as close at you want. The last time I was in front the whole time. I stood in the back of the front floor section, and when Jungle kicked in, everyone started jumping, so when they're in the air, just make a sprint for the front and push them outta the way. I was holding the front rail by the middle of It's so Easy.

I was thinking about the after show shit though. Count me right the fuck in. And if any of you are stoner fans lets indulge in some fine greens before the show. We'll remember it all and won't have to take piss breaks.

Alright here is where I am at. Ive gone over this a few times. I may pass on the brewery at least at that time. 3-4 is too early in my opinion. I may even want to sleep at that time anyway. Sleeping is one of my favorite things, and everyone knows I love my naps. I will try some of that beer at some point while in Vegas though. I will be down for the Rainbow for some drinks and to get my grub on before heading back to Hard Rock.

I really like the idea of an after party. We have to fucking celebrate. Going back to Rainbow sounds fucking great. Not sure if it will be too packed though (never been to the Rainbow in Vegas). I have been to the Rainbow before in Hollywood, and that shit is crazy Saturday nights. Awesome place.

The image in my head of a bunch of Guns n roses fans stumbling down the strip at 3 in the morning is really fucking funny.

So alright. Rainbow after the concert...and then we take it from there.

So alright. Rainbow after the concert...and then we take it from there.

By the time the show gets done, the Rainbow should be pretty full, but they do have really great service and it's no problem gettin booze, and the tunes beat any other place in town.....yeah, im gonna use the time before the show to sleep, its gonan be a long night, a couple beers and some food at the rainbow first, enjoy the show, then party hard :)

Only person I am bringing to the pre-party is my significant other who loves GNR as well, just doesn't post on the boards.

Post by: phreakofnature on September 17, 2006, 05:07:14 AM
Well, not sure what to say... That show left me speechless. But I will give it a shot.  By FAR the best god damn show I have ever been too.

I knew it was going to be a special night when I walked into the joint, to be greeted by none other the Axl Rose. I purposely went late to the show since the venue was so small, I didn't want to stand in line. But, the doors had not opened yet when I got there, so the line was hella long. I decided to walk around the casino for a bit.

About twenty minutes later, Axl Rose walks in the door. If I would have went to the back of the line i would have never seen him. He had a entourage around him but he was very assessable. I walked up to him, shook his hand, he did that funky lean away from me shy handshake thing he did on the MTV Movie awards. i said have a great show, can't wait for you guys to go on.. He said "Thanks see you on the inside." After that everyone else started yelling "Axl, Axl" and they whisked him off to a private area. The cool thing is, he walked down the line and shook everyone?s had that was standing in line towards the front. All i can say was awesome.

So, with all this commotion, I was able to slip in line towards the front. I know I am a bastard but like 30 people left their spot to chase Axl, so I was like meh, why go to the back i will just slip in here. So, I got fantastic spot on the floor. I was about 10 feet away from the stage. Everyone was cool; no one was pushing or shoving where I was. I had a perfect clear view of the greatness.

As far as the set, it was pretty much the same set they played in Europe. No new unheard songs. They did play I.R.S, Better, Magascar, The Blues. They played the usual Appetite songs and November Rain. No TWAT.

the best way I can sum it up is, put the current lineup in the MTV Ritz '88 show. It was a small club like that, everyone was real close together and the stage was about waist high. Axl moved his ass off, it was just like the Ritz show. he was running and dancing likea son of a bitch.

The mix was pretty bad; Axl was low a lot of the time. He did sound fan fucking tastic though. He was on his A game. They recorded the show, I watched them but up giant audience recording microphones throughout the Joint.

During Better something funky happened with his ear monitor. He kept motioning to someone to turn it down. I don't think they ever did cause he got pissed and took it off. There will be another rant tape I am sure. During Paradise City for the 1st 30 seconds I could see him berating Merck off stage. You could tell he was in a tirade just blazing pissed. Then he came back out on stage, sang a few lines and stormed off again. I could see him off stage with Merck just having a total hissy fit. Before that, i could see Axl yelling into the mic, pointing at someone and screaming his head off. Not sure what happened but Axl left the stage mad again, and then came back to finish the song.

Axl was in a pretty good mood for most of the night, until the end. Something pissed him the fuck off. He told a story about Paul McCartney, he said that Paul?s kids told Paul that it was awesome that he covered a Guns n' Roses song. Was pretty funny.

Man, i don't ever want to see an arena show again. Small clubs is where it's at. Nothing like sharing that experience with only 1000 people. Axl was into the crowed all night long, he said it was nice to meet everyone out front..

This show should be all over the net soon. They didn't check anyone for camera's and I saw a few full size cam corders going during the show and about 50 camera phones.

That's about it. Best show of my fucking life.

He tripped on a mic stand from what I saw.  When Axl pulled him back up, a stage hand ran over and picked up a mic stand right where he fell.

my camera battery is dead, I managed to get some pics from the cam before it died, I'm going to go out today and get a battery, hopefully! so sorry there are only a couple pics on here, I have about 100 on the camera! :hihi:

"DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE FUCK YOU AREEEEEEEEE?!?!" Yes I fucking do! I'm celebrating my birthday with Guns N' FUCKING Roses! Ah what an awesome birthday right, two GNR shows at a perfect venue like this!!

Well where to start went over to the Hard Rock around 4:30PM and there wasn't anyone lined up inside, so we walked around and stuff and eventually found out from someone that the line started outside. We went out there and were like 20th in line! Robin Finck walked by, about 45 mins before I got inline, and I saw him shook his hand and stuff, he was talking to another fan.

So we're inline and they decide to take us inside, and lineup by the slot machines and stuff. A guy walks over and asks me if I'm under 21, I say of course and they take me outside. All minors had to lineup outside because of the slots, but we got in first!! It was amazing!

So we get into the venue and I'm 2 feet away from the stage, right in the middle!!! A lady walks around giving a setlist to people and a guy by me asks for one, and she was reluctant but ended up giving it to him. (Theres a picture of the setlist floating around somewhere)

So Phantom Planet comes on and they're not that bad, IMO. The lead singer was so drunk and stoned it was funny. Haha, but I think that they were pretty good. I would have loved to see A7X or Sebastian open for GNR, but these guys worked fine.

Before GNR the usual roadies come out testing everything, the drums, Pittman's synthesizer and all that. They tested the guitars and all that stuff, and I SWEAR TO GOD, one was Izzy's guitar. Maybe he was planned to come and something came up, but I freaking know it was it. I'm going to get a picture tonight if they test it again!

The lights go down and the intro starts up, everyone went fucking nuts. Usual WTTJ/ISE/Brownstone...but it never gets old to me. Before LALD, he said he was visiting cancer patients a couple weeks ago, and then he told the story about Paul McCartney's kids saying "Hey dad, I think it's awesome you cover a GNR song!!!" Axl loved that, he was laughing at it so much.

Robin did his solo, right into SCOM and that tore the house down. All the girls were screaming and EVERYONE was singing along! It was great! During Better and a couple other songs Axl was really pissed off at the sound guy and was motioning for them to turn something down. It was visibly pissing him off but Axl shrugged it off and did his best to work through it.

The most touching part of the night, IMO, was when Axl jumped up on the Piano during "The Blues" he was fucking tearing it up and it was so heavy and emotional. During band intros, he introduces everyone and goes to introduce Bumblefoot, he says "And now..Ron.." and security right by me RIPS this guy out of the crowd, someone said he was throwing stuff. But Axl waited, laughed and said that guy had bad aim.

After Patience, Tommy walks over to Axl and whispers something in his ear, and then Axl goes "MR STINTSON has a request. I'm not too sure they're going to want to hear this Tommy, but we'll see what they think. (Or something similar) Do you guys want to hear Rocket Queen?" THE PLACE WENT NUTS...So they play that and end it with Nightrain.

During the like "break" between Nightrain and the encore, Stintson walks back on stage sneaking around, and goes "SHHH!!" with his finger and everyone by me got a chuckle out of it. Madagascar was the best rendition I've seen, maybe that?s because I was two feet away but I don?t know, it was awesome.

Show ended with PC and during it, Axl was TREMENDOUSLY pissed off and walked off stage during it yelling at Merck and the sound guy. Tommy and all guitarists sung for pretty much the whole time but Axl did end up coming back on stage towards the end of PC. He ripped it up towards the end and it was fucking amazing!

Overall, it was an amazing show, best concert I've been to. Great birthday present! I saw some guys with video cams, so there is footage out there, I guarantee it. One retard had his light on for about 5 minutes, and then he realized that that was a bad idea. I took all my pics with no flash, so I didn't get caught and my ears are still ringing.

**side notes** Axl threw the mic stand and almost took Brain out. It hit Brain's cymbal and Brain and Axl both smiled and laughed...Beta ran on stage during some song (forget which one)!! :( But she ran to get the mic stand that Axl chucked and was about to trip over it...Robin tripped during the show, and Axl and him laughed it off and helped each other up...Robin went down right against the barrier, off the stage and was right in front of my face and I touched his guitar, it was amazing...Axl was shaking hands right by me, and I got one!! It was excellent!!

Check www.newgnr.com/tourpictures.html for some of my pics, I'll upload some more here on the bottom.

Forgot to add this guys, but we were all lined up outside and then they moved us into the casino, probably to get gambling on everyones minds, we were lined up right by the slots. All the 21 and under people had to lineup outside, and everyone was steaming mad so then they told us that we would go in first, which was amazing. I went in, bought 3 shirts and stood right front and center!

u got pics of the shirts?

I have pics, but on my camera with the dead battery! :( I'm hoping stores around here have a battery for my FujiFilm camera...so lets pray!

But yes they're new shirts...they DONT have all the US dates on the back though.

#1 is similar to the Hammerstein shirt, with the circle and GNR star in the middle. Says North America 2006, aswell as North America 2006 on hte back.

#2 is similar to #1, except where the stuff would be yellow, this is in blue. It says LAS VEGAS right below the star, and on the back.

#3 says GUNS N' ROSES and then the pistols with the roses wrapped around them, and hten G&R on the bottom, and on the back it says "GnFnR's!" (I'll find a pic of it, I've seen it on other shirts), with north America 2006 below that.

Awesome. I thought he was ok on the first part of the tour, but he only had a few days of practice. Its good to know he got to practice and now people wont have a reason to bash him

Were there scalpers out front?  Was the box office open?  Also, was it like the New Years shows in 2001--where they oversold the floor?

Also, how was the crowd reacting to the new songs?  Thank you for your answers in advance.

Everyone responded great, singing along to every song pretty much. A couple people here and there that were there just because its "Guns N' Roses" they were asking me what songs and stuff. But they loved them.

box office was open, but sold out. scalpers walked right by, two of them, trying to sell them right infront of security...and they were told to leave. haha

Were they selling tickets for tonight's show?  I think there were a hundred or so tickets left for tonight?  I have a feeling they are going to turn it up a notch tonight!

Seeing them live finally made me say "This is Guns n Roses now" in stead of... man they would be so much better with Slash and Duff.  I finally am 100% converted now.

Scalpers kept walking up and down the line saying "Anyone need tickets"  Also, for the new songs, it seemed like most of the people there had not heard them yet.  The crown definitely went quiet\still when the new songs started. About half way through them people were rocking out though.

so yea the show was fucking awesome :

I met Robin Finck  ;D  Me and my friend were debating getting in line, but it was so long my friend didn't want to, so we go sit at some slot machines, and i look over and there is Robin walking really really fast across the casino floor with his guitar case, and he had 2 females with him.  He made it to the elevator before I could catch up with him, but my friend and I were sitting there bullshiting outside the elevators for a few minutes and he came back down.  i was nervous about approaching him because if he would have blown me off it would have ruined everything, so i turned around but my friend wouldn't let me go.  He walked up to Robin with me and I said 'DUDE!! can I just shake your hand??" and he said 'sure of course!', and I gave him my ticket to sign and he signed both of my tickets, and then I told him he was my favorite guitar player and the look on his face was priceless.  It was like a look of shock and happiness at the same time and he thanked me.  Robin is a real stand up, humble guy.  I shook his hand again and let him go do his thing, because this was right before the show and I didn't want to hold him up.  but yea that was definitly the highlight of the night for me.  :)  I was a star struck idiot and I could barely talk lol.  But yea he was very very cool!

The show was awesome.  We went in towards the end of the opening bands set.   They were better than I expected.  Didn't seem like that long of a wait for the band to come on afterwards, maybe an hour.   The sound wasn't as good as it was in New York, at some points you couldn't even hear Axl.  I remember he left the stage during Paradise City probably to go yell at some sound guy  :hihi:

WTTJ
Its So Easy
Mr Brownstone
Live and Let Die
RObin Solo (this was different then anything I've heard)
Sweet Child Of Mine
Better (best song of the night!)
Knockin on Heavens Door
You Could Be Mine
Dizzy Solo
The Blues
Richard Solo/Beautiful
Out Ta Get Me
November Rain
IRS
Bumblefoot Solo
My Michelle
Patience
Rocket Queen
Nightrain

Madagascar
Paradise City (no robin solo)

I'm pretty sure thats accurate, but i might have a couple songs mixed up.

I noticed Chris having trouble with his setup during Its So Easy, wasn't sure what was going on there.

Bumblefoot was 100% improved from when I last saw him in NY.  In NY, he kind of seemed on the side and not as big a part of the band.  But he was all over the place last night.

It was cool to have Brain back  :)  Axl joked that he named his new son Axl  :hihi:

Other highlights for me were Out Ta Get Me, Nightrain, and Paradise City

Robin fell down during the ending of Rocket Queen.  Right on his ass.  :hihi:  Axl helped him back up, it was just as he was starting his outro solo.  8)  Robin is a God.   I wouldn't trade him in this band for anybody.

Oh yea, and my friend who went with me has never heard any of the new songs, and he really liked Better and IRS.   I expected him to be a little bit bored with the new stuff, but he seemed to enjoy those songs as much as My Michelle and Paradise City (his favorite GNR songs)

I'll be back tomorrow with word on tonights show.  :)
Just to do it all again tonight :)

So this is where I should write my POV for the evening?

Alright so here goes (I am running on 1 hour of sleep too to keep this in perspective). So yesterday. Took a nap in the afternoon and woke up around 4. We (my wife Andrea and I), decided to just go to the Rainbow to meet up with everyone and get some drinks before getting to the show. Awesomely (don't care if I am using the right words or grammar) board members came in...and really made the night so fucking special, I will never forget it.

I dont know if some of you even realize how cool people in here really are. GNR has the coolest fans in the world, and last night was proof positive. Shit I am really sorry now for my memory and forgetting the names of who was there. There were about 7 people who showed to the pre party at the Rainbow(and a big what the fuck to those who didn't. Seriously what the fuck?). Everyone was cool as shit. Can one of you name the people who were there for everyone? I will never forget you guys. We even went back to a hotel room and had more drinks, more smoked out, and listened to GNR. I laughed my ass off when we got back, and saw what we all did to the room. I should have taken a picture. Beer bottles, Vodka, cigarette buds, cups, and a pipe everywhere. Oh and Bandita, I cleaned up... I would have felt bad for the Housekeeping lol. Could not have been a better experience for a pre show party/meet-up.

Alright I will get down to it. We were up in the balcony and got there before Phantom Planet started playing. The only reason I mention the band is because they surprised the shit out of me.  thought they were a great opening act. Fucking beyond the call of duty with their respect and admiration for Axl and GNR which was damn cool. I was enjoying there set a lot. Thought their drummer in particular was a real standout and they had catchy upbeat songs that for me at least, really set the stage. But anyway... on to the business.

Keep in mind, I have never seen the new GNR, and the last time I saw GNR was 13 years ago. Man it was crazy. I actually started getting a little emotional. Serious. I was blown the fuck away. Downloading videos and mp3's really don't capture what it is like seeing them live. I wasn't expecting that. They are so fucking good. I saw GNR 4 times previously. Axl rages like always but I think he is so much cooler now...and I wasn't expecting that either. Its not just that he just looks happier, which he does...but he looks free. The way he talked to us...and he relates with the band, its really very cool. Instead of being this crazy motherfucker like in the past...he is a crazy motherfucker who...is charming as shit. And that is a word I never use. I would love to get into this all more and maybe I should have planned out exactly what I was going to write, but...fuck I will break some things down...

Robin Finck. Another example of the videos we have not doing this band justice. He is really fucking good. He really fucking is. He plays with so much emotion...and its infectious. I saw Robin a bunch of times in the past when he was with NIN...and he's not at all the same guitar player. I really fucking loved Slash. Slash is a ridiculously gifted guitar player. I think whenever Slash played, I thought he was just badass. And he was. Slash was always way into his shit. But with Finck, the man looks so emotionally invested in the music its another level GNR never saw before. I dont think I can even explain this right. I just find it very moving and touching. I dig Finck. I don't want to repeat things I know you know...like him falling).

I keep replaying the entire night over an over again. Amusing shit I experienced. There was a couple dudes totally on acid on the balcony. This fucking dude, like had his clothes off and was swimming in GNR music. I also had this older dude who felt the need to high five everyone after every song which was a bit well, you know. After awhile I just gave him a fist for him to touch. It was fucking obvious my hardcore brothers were on the floor. Shit you guys made Axl so fucking happy. He dug the fuck out of the crowd. And that story he told about Paul...We heard Paul tell that same story from Paul at his concert...so its totally ture. The balcony had a lot of people that were there because they were cool and really weren't fans. I could see my bros. on the floor rocking out with me to the new tracks, whereas on the balcony a lot didn't know shit.

Also I really am fucking thankful Axl does his Good fucking night after Nightrain. That cleared out a lot of the trendy fuckers in the reserved area who thought the show was over. A bunch of us then got to see the rest of the show right on the railing which was  unbearably cool. It felt like we were right on top of the band. Amazing.

In my opinion, and I heard pretty much all the mp3's and videos, Axl delivered the best vocal for IRS at this show. The dude was fucking beyond awesome pretty much the whole night but shit like with IRS, he fucking owned so much ass. All the new tracks sound really fucking awesome and I would take the Pepsi challenge with them over much of the older GNR tracks. I am so glad they did Madagascar to. I almost forgot how special it is. Such a damn trip.

I think I wrote way too much, and no ones really going to read it. And to those from the board who partied, we were lead out down these stairs at the end that took us right outside. I thought it was the part we were suppose to hook up at (fuck I wanted to get Nightrain!), so we thought we'd see everyone back at Rainbow. The place was packed solid, and we were real hungry, so we went back to Hard Rock for some grub. I really hope we can all party again sometime. Was it axlrosegnr, that was with that chick with the red GNR shirt? I cant get over that whole situation. So fucked. What a lame motherfucking boyfriend. She is damn cool. We should beat the shit out of that fool! Anyway, you are a cool motherfucker man.

What a perfect fucking day. Thank you to everyone. I had a blast and really hope you all did too. I consider you all friends now. Glad to meet you all and put a face to all of you. To the cool ass Hippy GNR chick who went to Lisbon you are awesome. Thanks for smoking out. You are damn cool. Husbands a nice guy too. And the dude who was with that dude from Pittsburgh, cool motherfuckers. And the other dude who brought the beers from his hotel. Fuck yea. Shit, I'll better stop.

Fucking Class A night. Cool friends and GNR bringing their A game to a classy motherfucking Joint. Damn I love GNR. So great. Thank you.

A bunch of us then got to see the rest of the show right on the railing which was? unbearably cool.

So great. Thank you.

Ahh man I wanted to meet up with you guys.  I couldn't because  I had to work late.. and everyone seemed like they were flaking out on the pre party in the threads.  I sent out a few private messages a couple days before the show with my cell phone and no one called so I thought everyone was doing their own thing.  I could have made it right after work, but I wound up getting to the hard rock about 8pm ish.  Ahh well, maybe next time.  I thought about going to the rainbow but I had no idea how to meet up with everyone, I would of felt like fool walking up to strangers asking them if they were from htgth lmao.

Oh dude totally thought the same thing. This is exactly how it started. I was sitting at the bar with Andrea having some beers. There was no one with GNR shirts on at that point. Then this cool motherf'er (Uh (sorry bro) Axl something)) with ths GNR came in with this cool mother f'n chick with a red GNR shirt on and were walking around. They passed us and we said hey or whatever and talked about how excited we were about he show. Then someone I think mentioned the pre sale from a board and he asked if I was a member of a board and that was that. The dude...can't beleve I cant remember his name (whats up dude!) already seemed to know a couple of board member already and we all kind of introduced ourselves. It was nothing man. Everyone was as cool as can be. Great experience. Really hope we can all kick back again sometime. And Freak you are definitely one I was expecting to meet. Also Rhiad and Chief and I think a couple others. But yea, I hope there will be a next time. Its great having friends that totally understand how fucking cool GNR is. And drinking, smoking, and rocking out to GNR with friends is a damn cool thing. We will definitely have to have a repeat sometime. Really everyone from this board are so cool.

yeah I guess the only positive thing about not going to the pre-party was I got to meet Axl.  That probably wouldn't have happend if I went to the preparty.  But, it would wrather have met up and partied with you guys!

I'm SOOO pissed...I was right in the center and of course, Axl somehow manages to throw his mic to the left front of the crowd...I so would have caught it if he threw it in the center  >:(

Other than that, and the long ass taxi lines after the show, (thank God there was a limo around), the show kicked major ass  ;)

was he stoned?

in my opinion, yes

haha his eyes were like barely open

in my opinion, no - he just is like this way these days.....when i talked to him before the show he looked so happy and chatty and i thought, boy this guy has smoked already, how is he gonna pull off the show.....well, he pulled it off brilliantly. not a single fuck-up on his part, except maybe at the end of madagascar for a second. overall, he was on the top of his game. i don't believe a stoned person could play so well and behave so professionally throughout the entire show.

Well, not sure what to say... That show left me speechless. But I will give it a shot.?

I am so happy for YOU!

Hey Everyone!!!

Just got back home last night, I am still numb!!  That was the experince of a lifetime, and wish everyone from the board could have been there, as such the dedicated fans that we all are, it would have been nice.  I have never been to a more perfect GNR concert like that it completely just kicked f-ing ass and then some.

Since I saw them in Lisbon in June I would say that Axl has only perfected things along the way, and probably dropped an easy 20 lbs also, those shirts that were just a little snug now have plenty of room, for all of us gals out there Axl was definately looking very fine.

I think that the reviews people have already given are pretty damn accurate to the nights events, so I won't go there with any of that.

My husband Scott and I went to the Rainbow at about 6:15 or so.  Walked in and there were a handful of people around the bar, being the outgoing unshy person that I am I just walked up and asked them if they were all from the board, and low and behold they were.  That is where I met up with you Buddah, and your lovely wife.  It was all of you that I met, and I am sorry I cannot remember all of your names, that made this whole experience so damn perfect.  Thank you all for everything, I cannot even begin to stress how much fun I had meeting and partying with each and everyone of you, by the way I am the one that Buddah refers to as the awesome hippy chick who went to Lisbon, I love that It made me laugh so hard when I read that.  Like in Lisbon, it was great to meet some of the members in person, we are all such lucky people to share this same passion for GNR.  By the way I have all of us partying in Buddahs room saying hi to HTGTH on my cam, so will put that on here as soon as I can.  I love all of you, oh and to Emily, hope you made it home safe, and kicked your stupid jealous boyfriends ass for being such an idiot over Axl, he truley needs to grow up, and maybe as I told you while you were partying, you might want to think him over, as jealousy like that is not a good thing for a relationship, be careful!!!

While I was in the concert, I had people screaming at me from behind, from the balcony, and everywhere over my GNR jacket, frick everyone wanted that jacket, I even was asked to be in I don't know how many pictures with it, everyone loved it , thanks to all of them, I appreciate it, but It will be all that more cool if I can just manage to get it signed by Axl, and the band members, once I accomplish that task, I will hang it on my wall of GNR memorabilia.

Also while I was there, a couple of guys behind me tapped me on the back, (in regards to jacket again), after talking for a few, I find out that like myself they are from Seattle also, one of the two of them pulls a card out of his wallet and hands it to me, he works for a major ticket selling place here, and told me GNR will be here in Seattle, in December, and to call him, and he will get me best possible seats available, so if this is true, I guess I will be going to this one in style, maybe those autographs will come then, and will be more special due to the fact that it will be from my hometown.

Like Buddah says we could all go on forever with what we experinced this last weekend , but time I am running out of right now, but before I go I once again want to thank each and everyone of you who had anything to do with this event, and I want to thank Jarmo and Mysterion for the presale tickets, I appreciate everything everyone here has done to make my trip so memorable, and if anyone ever come here to Seattle, please let me know in advance, and I will help accomodate your vist, and get together, peace to all of you and I love you all bunches.  msaxl43

Well I just got back from the airport, (fuck you Delta airlines!).  I   just got off an over  night flight, so sorry if this is kinda random.
We got there a little before four o'clock, ten minutes later we realized we left our tix back at MGM, so there was some running around there.  We get back and we're by the doors to the Joint we hear one gury say to some other guy  "They're gonna tell ya to move, the line starts outside"  So we go outside and we're like tenth in line.  Awesome!
When Axl came out into the casino @ 8:20, people went nuts.  And full disclosure, he was shaking hands and talking to people on the VIP line.  The rest of us that had been line for four hours just got to see him walk by.  Oh, well, but everyone was relieved that he was in the building. :)  There were a lot of really cool people on line, and helped to pass the time.
So when they finally opened the doors, the only spot on the barricade we could get was off to the left.  We were right next to the confetti cannon.
Robin is my new hero.  He kicked so much ass.  Though I felt bad that half the time he came over to our part of the stage the spotlight guy lost him.  He was in the dark half the time.  Then the dude next to me tried to grab his hair when he came down from the stage.
Axl sounded great, looked great, and looked like he was having a great time.
At one point, someone yelled something from the crowd and Axl said "No, Basil Rathbone isn't here."  What the hell did that mean?
ISE was off the hook.  Best version of that song I've ever heard.
What was up with Ron's beard?  It was shaved into, like, swirls or something.  Crazy.
I thought the new songs went over pretty well.  There seemed to be alot of people there that had no clue about the current status of the band.
When I got back to the hotel that night, I took off my shirt and a whole bunch of confetti fell out.  So of course I took it home!
I can't make a more coherent post right now, I'll finish later.

Yeah, pretty much all the VIPs......most of these people had nothing to do with the band. they tipped off security to let them in before anybody else, only to ask stupid questions like who is this guy (regarding Robin) and "where's slash". Pissed off all the people who had waited in line since the early afternoon and had to stay behind such idiots who for whatever reason still wanted to stay at the rail the entire time.

my review of the 16th show!!!

The North American Tour has begun to almost a perfect
start and it was even better than I expected.  The
road has been kind to Guns and they are having a lot
of fun up there on stage.
Axl came out with red sunglasses and a white t-shirt
that said something like Youth Assassin and he was on
fire, seemingly on a mission.  I?d say that Axl
sounded the best I?ve ever heard him at this first
warm up gig in Vegas.  Unlike in NYC, the sound
problems were mostly all fixed and I could hear him
very well throughout almost all the show.   Axl nailed
pretty much every high note, scream and nuance in the
songs, which was VERY impressive to me because it
seemed as though he had a cold (I saw him get Kleenex
during the show and he was drinking a lot more than
usual).

The first 3 songs really fire up the crowd and the
band so it?s hard to imagine them changing that
because it just works so well!  They actually had
smaller pyro going on during this show including the
spark shower for November Rain.  The stage didn?t have
the Video screens in the back or the Chinese banners
though because the club was so small.

Every song was awesome and tonight I can?t recall any
big mistakes and that bodes very well for the rest of
the tour.
Better was really powerful and tonight I could hear
the little intro vocals pretty well.  The Blues was
the best version I?ve heard so far ? Axl really nailed
the vocals throughout and he stood on top of the piano
at the end which was awesome.  You Could be Mine was
another powerhouse which they really played well. I
think it could be cool if they opened with it but I
don?t think that would happen either.  November Rain
is really epic now because I think all three solos are
played very well and of course the vocals are very
good.  Brain did some different fills during this
song, which were nice to hear.  I think that during
the band intros Axl mentioned that they were welcoming
him back and he made a joke about how he ditched the
European Tour.

Patience was also the best I?ve ever heard.  Axl held
the last note for a really long time.
Rocket Queen was a request from Tommy ? Axl said that
he really wanted to play it.  They then proceeded to
rip that song up and it was one of the best
performances of the night [Fortus played the slide
solo].  Nightrain kept the high energy up and once
again had a long jammed out outtro with many solos
from everyone.
For the encore we got Madagascar which was beautiful
but also missing something because there were no video
screens.  After this the energy spiked when they
launched into the intro to Paradise City.
Unfortunately Axl?s mic stopped working after the
first verse and he ran to the side to ?talk? to
whoever was in charge.  He definitely wasn?t too happy
about this!  After the song was done and after all the
explosions and confetti flew in the air they quickly
left the stage.  After a little while they came out to
a loud ovation (well deserved) and a group bow.  I was
reeling. Even though I?ve seen the songs before it?s
still a shock to see this kind of spectacle at a rock
show; there?s nothing like it.

After the European tour, GNR is now much tighter than
they were earlier this year, they have great chemistry
and Bumblefoot (wearing a cool looking completely red
suit that night) is becoming much more incorporated
into the band.
For example, he?s now doing longer solos for Knockin?
on Heaven?s Door (although I think for this one he
should play it closer to the album version).

I think they could do without so many guitar solos
personally ? if I had a choice I?d cut out 2 or 3 of
them because it takes some energy away from the show.
Although I must say that it was nice to see that some
of them were different than back in May.  I also think
they should ditch Beautiful and do some other songs,
kind of rotate them around.  I usually don?t like
Robin?s solos that much but now they are shorter and
more creative, so I was glad to see that.  Bumblefoot
sometimes does these crazy tapping solos, which I am
not a big fan of ? I think that he does better playing
the bluesy type of solos.  However his Don?t Cry solo
is really well arranged and he nails it.  It got some
of the crowd singing along after they recognized it.
He is a great and energetic stage presence that?s for
sure.  Richard?s solos are probably my favorite, the
most bluesy of the bunch.  He has really impressed me
so far this year!!  I also was digging Dizzy?s solo
which was Ziggy Stardust.   Besides the guitar and
piano solos I think that the little interlude jams are
pretty sweet because they are all improv.  Sometimes
Axl joins in with some vocal melodies, whistling or
shakers.

Tonight?s show was so good that I think it is the best
overall I?ve seen them play, and I think they only
will get better with more touring!!
There really is nothing like seeing this band in a
small venue.  The energy and crowd interaction is
unmatched and you can really feel the band?s intensity
and in some cases their sweat. Of course there is the
always-fun moshers and crowd surfers, which oddly
enough weren?t near me!  The next night however was a
different story....

Some other bits that I remembered from throughout the
show:

I think during You Could be Mine, Axl even did a jump
from the drum riser to the stage (but not quite like
those epic jumps he used to do).

He was in a great mood and thanked us for coming out a
few times and mentioned that we were in a quiet little
city in the desert.

At one point during the show Axl?s mic stand hit the
drum kit and they were laughing about it.  The stage
is so small that people were running into each other
pretty often ? kind of funny.

I believe after November Rain, Axl went into the Elvis
voice and said ?Thank you very much!?

Robin fell down to the ground during Rocket Queen, and
that was kind of funny.

Axl told a story about Live and let Die: He found out
that Paul McCartney?s kids were telling him that it
was so cool that they covered a Guns n? Roses song.  I
loved it!!!

Also someone asked him about Sebastian Bach but Axl
replied that he wasn?t there today. He also talked
with a fan up in front but I don?t know what he was
talking about.
Some stupid people were throwing stuff and Axl
commented on that too asking them to ?be good.? Or
something to that effect instead of getting angry and
ranting.

Hey Everyone!!!

Just got back home last night, I am still numb!!? That was the experince of a lifetime, and wish everyone from the board could have been there, as such the dedicated fans that we all are, it would have been nice.? I have never been to a more perfect GNR concert like that it completely just kicked f-ing ass and then some.

Since I saw them in Lisbon in June I would say that Axl has only perfected things along the way, and probably dropped an easy 20 lbs also, those shirts that were just a little snug now have plenty of room, for all of us gals out there Axl was definately looking very fine.

I think that the reviews people have already given are pretty damn accurate to the nights events, so I won't go there with any of that.

My husband Scott and I went to the Rainbow at about 6:15 or so.? Walked in and there were a handful of people around the bar, being the outgoing unshy person that I am I just walked up and asked them if they were all from the board, and low and behold they were.? That is where I met up with you Buddah, and your lovely wife.? It was all of you that I met, and I am sorry I cannot remember all of your names, that made this whole experience so damn perfect.? Thank you all for everything, I cannot even begin to stress how much fun I had meeting and partying with each and everyone of you, by the way I am the one that Buddah refers to as the awesome hippy chick who went to Lisbon, I love that It made me laugh so hard when I read that.? Like in Lisbon, it was great to meet some of the members in person, we are all such lucky people to share this same passion for GNR.? By the way I have all of us partying in Buddahs room saying hi to HTGTH on my cam, so will put that on here as soon as I can.? I love all of you, oh and to Emily, hope you made it home safe, and kicked your stupid jealous boyfriends ass for being such an idiot over Axl, he truley needs to grow up, and maybe as I told you while you were partying, you might want to think him over, as jealousy like that is not a good thing for a relationship, be careful!!!

While I was in the concert, I had people screaming at me from behind, from the balcony, and everywhere over my GNR jacket, frick everyone wanted that jacket, I even was asked to be in I don't know how many pictures with it, everyone loved it , thanks to all of them, I appreciate it, but It will be all that more cool if I can just manage to get it signed by Axl, and the band members, once I accomplish that task, I will hang it on my wall of GNR memorabilia.?

Also while I was there, a couple of guys behind me tapped me on the back, (in regards to jacket again), after talking for a few, I find out that like myself they are from Seattle also, one of the two of them pulls a card out of his wallet and hands it to me, he works for a major ticket selling place here, and told me GNR will be here in Seattle, in December, and to call him, and he will get me best possible seats available, so if this is true, I guess I will be going to this one in style, maybe those autographs will come then, and will be more special due to the fact that it will be from my hometown.

Like Buddah says we could all go on forever with what we experinced this last weekend , but time I am running out of right now, but before I go I once again want to thank each and everyone of you who had anything to do with this event, and I want to thank Jarmo and Mysterion for the presale tickets, I appreciate everything everyone here has done to make my trip so memorable, and if anyone ever come here to Seattle, please let me know in advance, and I will help accomodate your vist, and get together, peace to all of you and I love you all bunches.? msaxl43

Everyone at the pre-party was fantastic, was awesome to meet you all and then some of you again on Sunday.  I am back in NY now and still trying to recover from this!

MsAxl how can you forget our shoe discussion on the street, hahah : ok:

As for the shows, well, they were even better than Hammerstein.  Total top of their game-I won't write a detailed review because it all already has been said-

Hey Guys,
I'm a new member here, but have already met some of you at last weekends show in Vegas. Thank you to all of you who I met, and who helped make all of our nights a night we won't forget! For all of the GnR fans, each and every one of you was cool as hell!! I love the attitudes everyone had, and the fact that we all had the same passion for GnR. I have never met so many people who are like me!!

I just wanted to say thanks for all of your guys support with my boyfriend who is jealous of Axl (and why wouldn't he be jealous, Axl is one fine piece of meat!!). I appriciate all the posts out to me - and that I should kick his ass... Thanks MsAxl43, and for the advice. I'm glad your husband is so supportive of you and your love for the band...one day I'll find a guy like that too! Thanks too all the other people who helped us have a wonderful time! For all of you going to Bakersfield....I'm SOO jealous!! But i'm also out of cash, so unfortunatley I won't be able to make it.

When the rest of the tour is announced, I'm hoping for a show in Minneapolis, or at least within driving distance of. If anyone would attend that show, we need to get together! plus if they do come to that area, axlrosegnr will be there too!

ok well i know i'm late but i jsut returned from vegas a few minutes ago and holy shit the show was awesome. First off when i lef tthe hotel at 7:30 p.m. to go wait on line at the hard rock never in my wildest dreams i woulda thought i had a chance of shacking the hand of axl rose and robin finck. as already said im sure after the sound check axl lef the joint through the front doors of the club with security and shock everyones hand in the begiining of the line. as yes i was one of the lucky ones. i dont know what happened after he walked through the casino but eveyone was chanting axl.axl axl. and i think dizzy was walking with them but i could be wrong. i was so fucking stoked about seeing axl and shacking his hand that i totally lost it for a second.

So the joints doors open and of course i run right to the merch booth for a shirt. 30 bucks no problem. saturday night we had balcony seats which werent that bad but the crowd were i was sucked dick. fucking hooberstank. blah, yes hooberstank was in the vip section. After getting the shirt and making my way to the balcony elevator line, i meet robin fink walking off the elevator. no security just him and his guitar case. i say yeah robin as he walks by and he says hey man thanks for coming and we shake hands. he continues on his way towards the casnio. so in a hour i met both axl and robin...................my fucking head coulda fell off and i woulnt have noticed.

The only reason I mention the band is because they surprised the shit out of me.? thought they were a great opening act.

A bunch of us then got to see the rest of the show right on the railing which was? unbearably cool.

So great. Thank you.

Right on Buddah Master, I had a great time this weekend as well. ?It was great to meet some of the boardmembers and pre-party @ Rainbow and in ur hotel. ?I'm Rob the guy I was there with my bro from Pittsburgh. ?U r his favorite he really enjoyed that present u gave him (I did too a little!) Are you going to Inland Invasion, San Diego or Bakersfield?

I wasn't a huge fan of IRS until this concert...This track is sooooooo good live....You could tell that only about 25% of the audience in the front was familiar with the new tracks,
but EVERYONE was so into IRS...it was really really catchy.....In the future it could fit in well, with their opening tracks of WTTJ, Its so Easy and Brownstone...All very upbeat
tracks that sound so awesome live. If not, its at least on par with You Could be Mine.

I never made it to the pre-party, we just partied at the Hard Rock bar in the center before. ?So bummed I didn't meet any of you except for Punk something or other and his cutie wife Nina. ?The show rocked so hard! ?I am still in dis-belief that I was there! ?I got so excited when they started playing Night Train that I made the dude in front of me spill his whole drink on the girls in front of him! ?oops! ?Saturday had to of been one of the best days/nights I've ever had! Was at the pool doing jello shots during the day, then went on that roller coaster at the NY, NY hotel, which was completely insane, then saw Gn'R at the Hard Rock! ?Doesn't get much better! ?:peace:

Oh, was at that bar called Body English (in Hard Rock) afterwards, hoping Axl was there...he wasn't

I paid $125 to see the Rolling Stones, a band that has the years and classics ....I can't think on how anyone could explain how Supernova gets or anyone who would pay that amount to see them. I know it's a special night (New Years) but I think thats crazy.

But this is not a I hate Supernova site :P , its a Guns N Roses site  and it's been great reading all these reviews for the Vegas shows.

Thanks to all who posted their reviews, pics and experiences.

I cannot wait until October 24th in Sunrise, FL when I hear those words, "Do you know where the Fuck you Are?!".

It's been way too long.

You know, speaking of Hard Rock Hotel, what the fuck happened? I mean, what is the deal with all the trendy motherfuckers? The center bar is ridiculous. It was fun playing point out the fake boobs walking around Hard Rock though. Disappointed with what has become of that place. You wear a Rock shirt there on the weekend and you have trendy fuckers looking at you like you are a loser. Chumps man. Rainbow on the other hand...

Well my wife does have more memorable assets then I do, I suppose.  ;D

We did rock that place though didn't we?

Some of those freaks were actually at the show too with women in big heels and dresses like they were going to the Opera and they had NO clue about the band except they had a hit with SCOM. ?It cracked me up cause here in NY you would take a beating showing up to a rock concert like that. ?Totally weird experience seeing this in the casino!!!

Wish I got to hang more at the Rainbow, ahhh next time!

Or if the tour ends here in NY you should all make the trip!

Hey all... my first post... I just had to register 'cause everyone on this board seems really cool.

I drove in from Los Angeles for my first GNR show and boy did they not disappoint. It was the best concert I've every been to (and one of the cheapest thanks to eBay). My pal and I listened to GNR religiously in high school and I waited like 14 years to see them. Waiting in line and having Axl come by down the hall was unbelievable. Chatting with all the super friendly fans was amazing too. I thought the crowd was going to be a lot rougher but everyone was nice except for the drugged up dude that was feeling up the nice gal next to me. BTW. I'm the asian guy from Amherst, MA. Any of the other nice MA folks I met reading this? msg me or whatever. I think I'm heading out to the Worcester, MA show and it would be cool to meet up there if y'all are going!

Anyway... I'll be going to the Inland Invasion this week and most likely the San Diego show on the 5th. Anyone else going to either of these?

Peace.

Like Buddah says we could all go on forever with what we experinced this last weekend , but time I am running out of right now, but before I go I once again want to thank each and everyone of you who had anything to do with this event, and I want to thank Jarmo and Mysterion for the presale tickets, I appreciate everything everyone here has done to make my trip so memorable, and if anyone ever come here to Seattle, please let me know in advance, and I will help accomodate your vist, and get together, peace to all of you and I love you all bunches.? msaxl43

Hey Guys,
I'm a new member here, but have already met some of you at last weekends show in Vegas.

What was the deal with the crazy security?  They actually had guards walking around with German Shepards while we were on line.  They came by me three times.  Jeez.
They were acting like they were secret service or something.
But, it was a great show, and I'm so happy I made the trip.  Can't wait to seem again Oct. 24th!
I loved it when, at like, 11:30, Axl said "Yeah we should really be going on stage soon."  Then he pauses for a reaction from the crowd, then he said "You don't like that joke do you?" heh ;)

Nope. I was standing in front of the Star*ucks around the time Axl made his way down the hall. I think the gal I met was named Alexis? And there was a couple from Boston too... the guy was wearing a pale blue GNR shirt. Also some guy from LA that did something with Radiology or was it Nuclear Treatments in Santa Monica.

There was some loser in a wife beater that kept falling all over me on Saturday. So drunk he could barely stand, his eyes closing shut. I kept giving him the elbow/push/jab but he wouldn't get it. Eventually I told him that if he kept falling on me I would punch him in the face. LOL He actually laid off for a while, then staggered out of the venue early.

The dogs were there both nights by the door where they scanned your ticket.  Sunday night they had the biggest German Shepherd I have ever seen!  I was going to attempt to pet him but I didn't think the cop would condone.

While I was in line on Sunday I asked one of the cops if it was a drug sniffing dog and he told me they had 4 dogs, one drug sniffing, one bomb sniffing, one weapons (guns) sniffing, and an attack dog.  He said he wouldn't tell me which was which though.  The hand stamps that were using were supposedly the dogs names, I saw Bowie, Sid, and Prince stamps.

As I wasn't an active member here in 2006, I want to just say how amazing these Vegas Joint shows were. I was 17 at the time and I flew on my own to Las Vegas from London Gatwick, still can't believe I did it.

Las Vegas was beautiful and everything I expected and more, and the sun was just burning all week long. I met another guy who had flown from the UK for these shows. I felt happy that there were other people out there who felt the same as me.

The shows were the best shows I have ever seen in my life, and that includes shows up to the present day (2010). Seeing GN'R in such a small place was magical, and I was front row both nights. I saw a number of band members in the casino beforehand, Robin, Richard, Dizzy, Ron and also Del.

For Welcome To The Jungle on the 16th, Robin came out with his tophat and a blue shirt/vest. It was the first time in 2006, that Robin came out without a long black coat but still with his tophat, and he looked badass. They played the hell out of everything for those 2 nights, and I felt as if I had seen 2 legendary shows.

I met Ron as well, in a store inside the Hard Rock hotel. I had my picture taken in front of the Guns N' Roses stand. But what made my trip was how much Robin Finck interacted with me, he was so nice. I had seen GN'R loads of times that summer as I live in the UK, so I saw most  of the European and UK tour. And when Robin saw me that first night during the intro to Jungle, he looked right into my eyes and grinned while nodding his head. I knew, that he knew I had flown all the way to Vegas from the UK to see GN'R again, and that made my trip.
