for people who thinks gnr might or could take the stage right after AIC
yeah it might happen

But the gnr stage needs some reconfiguration I think( Right???)

I think (hope) that they will go on stage around 00:00 that would be great

I hope you're right, but I'm not expecting a 4 hour, 30 song set.  I'd expect the similar setlist that they've played for most of the previous shows.

Cineater and I just got home from the show. We drove all day! Got too Sturgis around 4 Friday and checked out the sites. I haven't been there in almost 20 years and Cin had never been there We had a blast. Headed out to Monkey Rock about 5. Freaking awesome set up. I don't know how many tickets anded up being sold but security told us as off 6pm it was over 45,000 and still selling!! Show was great. Axl and the boys belted out the songs very quickly. I am not sure if it was sound troubles or just a spent mic but vocals did kick out a few times. lol We didn't mind, its not like we don't know the words. Took some of the crowd that didn't know what they were in for to warm up but in the end they did. Saw what seemed like quiet a few hardcore gnr fans about!!
I still can't believe we got to see gnr at Sturgis.
AXL Just one note. thank you so very much for playing This I Love. I wasn't sure if you would play it for this crowd and I so wanted to get too hear it. Crowd reallly seemed to like it too. Thanks to all of GNR and the production crew for pulling this one off.

Vocals didn't kick out at all farther from the stage, which is my expirence every time I've seen them. Actually, this was the loudest I've ever heard Axl, cause I was in Sturgis all week, by Friday i ran outta gas. So I kept in back. But they got on stage at 10 to 1 and ended at 3, not 3:30. Also, I hung with Ron for about an hour during the day, we checked out The Full Throttle Sallooon....it rocked....the whole week rocked, I just wish I saw Gn'R on Monday or Tuesday instead of Friday so I would of had more energy.

I am guessing that 45,000 no. i posted was most likely for the whole week. Not sure what security ment. Guess thats why they don't let him carry a gun. lol And sorry I was damn tired last night when I posted that. I ment we left at 3:30. I heard if it hadn't been for GNR they wouldn't have made any money. They said the night Godsmack played went really good but a couple of nights hardly anyone even should up.
Yeah I hate that they always have trouble with the cut out in front. I was hoping we were far enough back.
Not sure why Ron left the stage then. I was to beat by then. the cold really got to us. We are from the midwest and its been hot as hell. Hell it was 102 when we got too the Badlands on Thursday.

Amy, I've read online that Ron was visibly pissed throughout the show and "apologizing" for the late start by pointing to his imaginary watch and mouthing "I'm sorry" to the crowd.  Did you see this?

Yes I did. All I can say is I love GNR I would wait forever if I had too. But This was a special show for too me very special people. And it wasn't the kind of show you go on at 1 am for. If that was the case there should have been another band or something to entertain everyone. Watching strippers on the screen at a biker rally was pretty boring. We can see that all day just walking down the street. I should point out that Jim Rose was on between sets and I was thrilled to see that he was going to be there but totally disappointed by the show he put on. Sorry but that was lame.

I was front row and I can say that it did take the crew a long time to get the stage ready. The crowd got restless pretty quick and were actually throwing shit at the stage. Ron was actually standing by the stage while it was happening, and he was really upset by it. And it was like that for the whole show. Actually he seemed pissed at Axl. He tried joking with him a couple times during the show and Ron wasnt having it. He actually left the stage for 3 or 4 songs after the show started, idk what it was all about but he remained like that for the rest of the show.

Otherwise it was an amazing show. Axl sounded killer, and his performance of Sorry was a highlight. Total emotion. I was so amped when he came out in the leather from '92!!!! Amazing amazing amazing show, as always. Totally worth the drive.

Here is a video news report from Sturgis with some concert footage and a short interview with Bumblefoot.

One of the band's lead guitarists says Sturgis is a logical venue for Guns 'N Roses. Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal says, "This is cool. This is a perfect fit as far as I'm concerned. I was here last year actually, hanging out and it's nice to be back. I'm glad to be back on the 60 year anniversary. That's really cool. I appreciate you guys all having us here."

I can't believe how badass everyone looks, this bands on fire.

Watch the clip, and see how DJ and Ron own them solos.  ;D They keep on getting better and better, and Axls' voice is top notch, how Axl can sing like that throughout the whole show is just superb.  : ok:

Ron is looking the part, playing amazingly, and seems to be performing his best every night. He has grown within the band since 2006, and is now someone who I consider to be a leader in the band.

His look reminds me so much of Robin, which is an added bonus.

Keep it up Ron, we all love ya.

I was at this show... people were throwing full beer cans on stage and leaving during the show. I attended the full rally and this venue was pathetic! I'll never go back. The Buffalo Chip as always put on one hell of a show every night. I felt sorry for Ron as he was dodging the full beer cans on side of the stage. Fans were yelling bullshit during the delay and walking out screaming Axl sucks. The venue was 20% full and maybe 5000 people were still there by the middle of the set. Axl never did once apologize. I've waited all my life to see GNR live and I left early as well as drunk locals in Sturgis is not a good thing! This was the first concert I've ever left early. I rode up on my Harley on 8/7 and waited all week for this show and it SUCKED! I was pissed at the delay and I didn't enjoy it all. I was more worried about getting into a fight with one of the drunk locals. So for those of those lucky enough like me to see ZZ Top, Bob Dylan, Kid Rock, Motley, Stone Sour, and Ozzy those are REAL bands. Going on stage at 1am on the last day of the rally is BS! Axl has lost one of his biggest fans. I'll never pay money to see him live again!

I'm just pulling in.  I had a great time!  Monkey Rock not enough kudos for you guys, great job.  I'll go to one of your venues any time you set it up.  Don't know if  that was your staff or not but great people at the gates and on security.  Happy birthday again to our security lady.

GNR crew, you rock!  The other bands had a few guys out there but GNR, everybody and their cousin was setting up plus they were prepare for the weather.  Got to say though the only female crew member I saw was the camera lady.  You know if you're under represented, Amy would do a good job for you.

About the time thing, there was no where on the planet or anything I would rather be doing then where I was and who I was going to see, I didn't care and neither did the kid.  It was a thrill though seeing Ron waiting in the wings all strapped in and ready to go.  I could see his smile all the way across the crowd.  He stepped out a few times, that was either a wave or 5 minutes and Amy says that second one was a heart sign, looked like a circle to me.  I was wondering what the fuck's wrong that you're making a circle--lol

The titty show--lol  Let me just say before you show your tits to the camera ladies you need the approval of two women.  Between the strippers and tits, I can say there's not a snow balls chance in hell I could be gay, nope not even bi.  The opening acts, all good.  Alice In Chains deserved an encore.  The Rose Circus in between acts, good concept but not my thing.

Anyway you're probably interested in the show.  I couldn't see--lol  Every tall person there was in front of me, my view wasn't that great but I'm not complaining.  The whole top row disappeared in a flame ball a couple of times.  Hope Chris is okay, the wind looked liked it was blowing it right into him.  I needed the heat, thanks!  Everybody sounded fine to me.  I would have never guessed DJ was feeling bad.  Richard got the teenage girl vote for hottie.  I thought the set was a little rushed but maybe that was the cold weather/possible rain or just my desire for it to never end.  It was funny when they revved up the piano.  Had a cloud of confetti come right at me, that was so cool!

I had a great time, thanks GNR for the show and the location.  The only bad thing I have to say is, Chris I never want to see that outfit again :hihi:

Amy, thanks, your wonderful, owe it all to you.  Miss you and the band already.  Next year everybody, okay?

The first thing I have to say is look again at that picture... that's the Buffalo Chip. I recognize the vip area. The banner even says Buffalo Chip. That's where the Crue, Ozzy and the Scorps all played. GNR performed at Monkey Rock across the street and a mile down the road. Different venues. Not sure why DJ would post a pic from someone else's show at someone else's venue but that definitely wasn't the crowd GNR had. I played it cool when people were throwing stuff and wasn't worried because I'd watched soundcheck and met three of the band so I knew they'd be late but they'd play. But, sadly, that is definitely not the crowd that attended the GNR show.  The energy was high among the fanatic faithful and we were packed in there near the front but when my wife texted me to meet her by the merch booth, I was stunned. After wading through the crowd all of a sudden there was no one. The venue was about a third full.  Total bummer. Ruined the rest of the night for me because I realized how many people had left before and during the show.  Rev Theory and Alice in Chains had bigger crowds.  I love GNR and felt terrible at how the crowd acted and how they dispersed as the show went on.

Rock 'N Rev official blames equipment for concert delay

Axl Rose was not to blame for Guns N’ Roses late start at the Rock ‘N Rev festival Friday night, according to Dan Catullo, a festival founder.

It was a technical glitch that took longer than expected to fix, he said Sunday.

The Rock ‘N Rev’s 30-camera video crew was busy working on its equipment after Alice In Chains left the stage, Catullo said.

As a result, Guns N’ Roses did not start until about 12:50 a.m. Saturday, even though they were scheduled to play around 11:30 p.m.

The late start upset some of those at the concert who threw beer bottles and cans at the stage while waiting. By the time the band took the stage, some members of the crowd had left the Rock ‘N Rev amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA near Sturgis.

Many assumed it was the fault of Axl Rose, who is known for showing up late or not at all. Catullo said that was an erroneous assumption in this case.

“I just don’t like people becoming a fall guy or getting blamed for things when it’s not their fault,” he said. “I thought I needed to clear the air.”

Catullo said Rose was ready to take the stage by 11:30 p.m.

“I feel bad. He was the most insanely professional gentleman that I ever met,” said Catullo, who spent about 30 minutes with Rose after the performance. “He came and did his job exactly as contracted.”

The technical breakdown came when Guns ‘N Roses opted to use its own sound equipment instead of the consoles provided by the festival, which the video crew was using for communications and to direct a video for a DVD of the festival, Catullo said.

On Friday afternoon, the crew realized this would be a problem, but they couldn’t correct it without affecting other bands, so they waited until after 11 p.m., when Alice In Chains left the stage, Catullo said.

No announcement, however, was ever made to the crowd explaining the delay.

Festival spokesman Randy Alexander apologized Sunday for not informing the crowd about the technical problems.

“It took longer than expected,” he said.

Catullo said they believed the problem would be resolved at any moment, and as a result, it never occurred to them to inform the crowd, especially since no specific time was set for Guns ‘N Roses to take the stage.

“It’s not like the place had a curfew that it closed at a certain time,” Catullo said.

Monkey Rock was just a field as well. Smaller than Buffalo Chip. The Monkey Rock stage was gone when I left Saturday. Buffalo Chips is permanent. A lot of places just use the term amphitheater.

The technical breakdown came when Guns ?N Roses opted to use its own sound equipment instead of the consoles provided by the festival, which the video crew was using for communications and to direct a video for a DVD of the festival, Catullo said.

On Friday afternoon, the crew realized this would be a problem, but they couldn?t correct it without affecting other bands, so they waited until after 11 p.m., when Alice In Chains left the stage, Catullo said.

No announcement, however, was ever made to the crowd explaining the delay.

Festival spokesman Randy Alexander apologized Sunday for not informing the crowd about the technical problems.

?It took longer than expected,? he said.

Catullo said they believed the problem would be resolved at any moment, and as a result, it never occurred to them to inform the crowd, especially since no specific time was set for Guns ?N Roses to take the stage.

?It?s not like the place had a curfew that it closed at a certain time,? Catullo said.

Rock 'N Rev official blames equipment for concert delay

Axl Rose was not to blame for Guns N? Roses late start at the Rock ?N Rev festival Friday night, according to Dan Catullo, a festival founder.

Nice to get a clarification -- I guess this also puts other rumors to rest.

Why couldn't the festival just make an announcement regarding the delay.

The venue was 20% full and maybe 5000 people were still there by the middle of the set.

So you want us to believe that that 20% remaining were all able to step in front of Dj's camera at the exact time this pic was taken?  ::)

Dj ASHBA?  Tonights concert was off the hook! Many thanx to all our crew for staying there all night, working brutal hours to pull this one off!! Thx to Monkey Rock!! And Axl for cracking me up with the jokes on the way to the stage!! Too funny! Ha! G'nite Rapid City!

Another thing to go with this....

MyGNR user "Black Sabbath" clarified (at 1PM on 8/15) that he posted it to Facebook before GNR performed, that it wasn't GNR, and that DJ stole it!

Damn you DJ, stealing photos!

So in general is an Ozzy concert in the US more popular than GN'R? It's certainly not like that in the UK. GN'R are playing two huge festival sites (Reading & Leeds) and are still filling 3 of the main arena's later in the year.

Also I always hear people saying Rock is not popular in the US...But Avenged Sevenfold are number 1. Surely ACDC and Aerosmith must play big arenas? Why has the country turned it's back on Axl?

I dont think ozzy is more poular since he really only does a handfull of ozzfest shows here in the states. Bands like disturbed and avenged are popular and sell alot of cds. The majority of young people follow whats "cool" or trendy and right now it's not rock. most bands play arena here but the majority dont sell out just like back in 06 with gnr.

Just an FYI Bob Dylan and Kid Rock was the largest concert in Sturgis history! Way to go Buffalo Chip! There may have only been 5000-7000 fans in that place by the time he took the stage. Beer cans flying and people getting up and leaving speaks for itself. All someone had to do was say "hey we are having tech problems" but no! It's obvious Axl doesn't care about the fans and that he lost a lot of fans that night. He is a self centered prick and just a shell of his former self. I felt sorry for Ron as he was dodging full beer cans the whole night.

It's an unfortunate truth that mindless morons chucking stuff are par for the course at festivals, it's a fact you have to deal with if you attend them.  Axl (or any artist) shouldn't be held responsible for the irresponsibility of individuals at the show; it's up to you to take responsibility for your own actions.

Also, why the hell would you expect Axl to make any kind of announcement regarding the delay, that's the job of the festival organisers and their reasons for not doing so were given in their statement:

Festival spokesman Randy Alexander apologized Sunday for not informing the crowd about the technical problems.

?It took longer than expected,? he said.

Catullo said they believed the problem would be resolved at any moment, and as a result, it never occurred to them to inform the crowd, especially since no specific time was set for Guns ?N Roses to take the stage.

?It?s not like the place had a curfew that it closed at a certain time,? Catullo said.

I appreciate that you're disappointed with how your evening turned out but I think you're misguided if you believe that Axl doesn't care about giving GN'R fans the best possible show he can.  My experiences have always proved to the contrary and, yes you may have had to wait longer than you wished, but for the band to go onstage before the technical problems had been solved would have be detrimental to those fans who genuinely wanted to see and hear the band at their best.  In my view, the best is always worth waiting for...   : ok:

Was that Axl in the helicopter?  It flew over a couple of times and really leaned in one time.  I was thinking if Axl's in there he needs to hold on  :hihi:

I was surrounded by bikers and none of them left.  We were packed in on DJ's side of the stage most of the time and the other side looked worse.  I have to say, it got pretty windy and cold.  There was what looked like local kids completely wasted being a pain in the ass but they got into the concert and didn't puke so no big deal, glad I wasn't them the next day.  :hihi:

Ron hanging out in the wing was great.  When we spotted him, we started yelling his name.  I can tell you it shutdown the bitching going on around us.  And really it was just grumbling from the drunks, nobody left and most of the crowd didn't join in.

Do not give the organizers shit, they did a great job.  Australians, you'll be in good hands with Monkey Rock.

I have to agree with the guy saying driving in the black hills late at night is spooky!  The speed limit out there is 75, woohoo!  Such a great place for a concert.  Next time I bring in coffee.  They didn't check for shit at the gate, even teased us a bit, great staff at that concert.  And leaving, no problem.

It's sad that even with the official announcement about the concert organizers being at fault, a lot of people will still choose to blame Axl for the delay. Because idiots like that think it makes them cool to blame Axl for everything. Here's a tip for ya -- if you think Axl is such an asshole, or if you have to get up early for work the next day -- don't go to the fucking concert, douchebag! I don't want to hear you booing next to me the minute it's past your bedtime.

Just for the record "Douchebag" I wasn't the one of the many chanting bullshit, booing, and throwing beer cans on stage! With no communication with the crowd of course everyone is going to blame Axl. I bought my ticket the day this show was announced after already having disturbed tickets. I left due to security concerns and being fed up with all the crap. I carry a gun whereever I go, but for those of you who not familiar with the local scene up there it just wasn't a safe environment for eveyone in attendence. Anyways, this was a great 70th for Sturgis and I suggest to anyone who rides to experience the Chip.

And yeah, i understand that without an announcement at the time of the delay, of course people are gonna blame Axl -- i mean, the guy isn't known for being on time. I'm talking about the douchebags who are going to blame him even now, after they are aware that it wasn't his fault this time. There are plenty of them.

Too say there were no bikers there is a joke. Are you really trying to say that? Whatever man. There were way more bikers there then locals and fans. What do you think a biker is anyway? Not every biker wears a vest showing there colors! {for you that don't know what colors are, their club name on back of their jackets} And yes a lot of people did leave but I am not so sure it was cause they didn't like the show. It was cause many of them were leaving at the crack of dawn that morning. When you travel with a group you do not want to get left behind. I think gnr would do good to come back to this next year just don't put GNR on the last night. Put them on the first night when they are ready to stay up all night. lol

No shit, I agree...the vast majority of people in Sturgis over the corse of the week were there with their bikes. Just because 99% of bikers are not in a club, doesn't mean they aren't bikers. I think people need to stop stereotyping a bit.....in fact, many places in Sturgis will refuse admission to anyone in colors...It made me laugh before the show when people would discuss what kinda setlest they would play since they were playing to "bikers".......so tell me, what is a biker anyways???? As far as I'm concerned a biker is someone tho loves to ride.....

Not sure about concert popularity, as GN'R play next to none in the U.S.  But Ozzy himself has more marquee appeal these days for various reasons.  Aside from his wacky family show 'The Osbournes', he's a living legend who is largely credited for pioneering hard rock/metal with Black Sabbath.  But, the one thing that sets him apart from Axl/GN'R is Ozzy gets off his ass and promotes his work, whereas Axl, god love him, either has better things to do or always has legal issues or whatever.  He didn't lift one finger to promote Chinese Democracy which still baffles me to this day.  No matter what kind of management/record label/Best Buy/etc conflicts there were -- to let the most hyped, long-waited, and mythic rock album in the history of music drop and do next to nothing to promote it is just beyond me and always will be unless Axl explains it in detail someday.  People will always argue that Chinese Democracy "did well considering...[insert scapegoat]", but compared to long-awaited expectations - it flopped in the U.S.....HARD.  And again, people will argue that no matter how well it sold, the mainstream's long-term expectations were impossible to meet.  While that may be true in some cases, if the album had actually sold 1 million within a week or two (with fans buying the albums, not Best Buy), that would've made a stronger statement that GN'R were back and Axl's 14 years to make the album were justified.  This was not the case.

When Ozzy was about to release Scream he was all over the place.  Every time I skimmed through news I saw something about him popping up somewhere to promote the album.  Now, of course sales for Scream weren't that great but I believe that to be largely in part due to Zakk Wylde not manning the axe for the first time in over 20 years.  The album simply wasn't that great.

Chinese Democracy was fantastic.  But, the only real promotion it got was the controversy with Dr. Pepper and everyone who could get through to their website got a free can of soda.  If not for that, roughly no one in the U.S. outside the hardcore Gunners would've known the album was coming out.  The marketing campaign (or lack thereof) was all wrong.  They put out Chinese Democracy (the track) as the first single........flop.  A video for Better, the best mainstream track on the disc, was said to be coming within a week of the album's release..........still waiting (unless I've missed something).  And there was no sign of Axl anywhere on the face of the earth until the Billboard interview, weeks after the album's release.

Internationally, Chinese Democracy sold really well which might explain why GN'R only tour overseas.  The U.S. is full of happy fad-fan fake-jobs who only follow what's hot in the media and proceed to mindlessly lambaste and slam everything that isn't.  GN'R hasn't been HOT in the U.S. since the Illusion era.  After most fans' favorite lineup disbanded, Axl went into hiding, and unconfirmed rumors of a new album swirled for years and years only to have the U.S. mainstream balk at the 2002 incarnation of Guns with Axl not at his best and producing a failed tour -- the haters had the all the fuel they needed to label Axl as the hard rock anti-christ.  International fans are much more loyal and don't really care or get caught up in stupid media bashing.

I don't blame him for wanting to tour overseas.  Sucks for real fans like me who live in the states and would gladly slap down my hard-earned money for a couple concert tickets.  But, the cold reality is most people in this country are fad-driven and have no idea what they really like until they reach a certain age.  And unfortunately, when you're an old school band and are trying to fill an arena, you need more than the mainstream's mindless puppets.

Here is what I could find on the show in Stugis.  A couple of these have been posted before but I thought I'd put them all in one post:

Guns N' Roses: First U.S. Show in 4 Years

Sturgis, South Dakota, was home to the world's largest motorcycle rally last weekend, as some 500,000 bikers rolled into the tiny town of 5,981 residents for the five music-filled days of the Rock N' Rev festival.

This year's headliners: Guns N' Roses, playing their first open-to-the-public U.S. concert in four years!

More than 20 others bands, including Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Wolfmother, Eagles of Death Metal, Creed, and Hinder, also performed at the fest, held at the 22,000-capacity Rock N' Rev Amphitheater in Sturgis.

And, as can be expected when half a million booze-guzzling bikers and hard rock bands descend on the same small town, not everything went smoothly. According to the Rapid City Journal, GNR took the stage at 12:50 A.M. Saturday morning, nearly 90 minutes late, due to technical glitches. Fans were not happy. Some threw beers onstage or left the show before the band's set started.

When Axl Rose and Co. finally took the stage, they delivered a high-octane set full of classics like "Welcome to the Jungle," "Mr. Brownstone," and "November Rain," plus cuts from their latest album, Chinese Democracy, like "Madagascar." See their complete 22-song set list below.

SPIN contributing photog Jordan Axtman was on the scene in Sturgis shooting live pics of all the bands performing at Rock N Rev.

Guns N' Roses setlist:
"Chinese Democracy"
"Welcome to the Jungle"
"It's So Easy"

(Instrumental Jam)

"November Rain"
(Bumblefoot guitar solo)
"Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (Bob Dylan cover)

So in general is an Ozzy concert in the US more popular than GN'R? It's certainly not like that in the UK. GN'R are playing two huge festival sites (Reading & Leeds) and are still filling 3 of the main arena's later in the year.

Also I always hear people saying Rock is not popular in the US...But Avenged Sevenfold are number 1. Surely ACDC and Aerosmith must play big arenas? Why has the country turned it's back on Axl?

GUNS N' ROSES At ROCK 'N REV FESTIVAL; Video Footage, Photos Available - Aug. 17, 2010

Fan-filmed video footage of GUNS N' ROSES' August 13, 2010 performance at the Rock 'N Rev Festival in Sturgis, South Dakota can be viewed below.

Check out photos of the concert:

* Spin
* Terra
* MFNRocks

GUNS N' ROSES' late start at the Rock 'N Rev Festival ? where the band came on at around 1:00 a.m., nearly two hours after previous act ALICE IN CHAINS ? was apparently due to a technical issue and not singer Axl Rose's well-known tendency to start shows hours behind schedule.

According to the Rapid City Journal, festival official Dan Catullo said that a switchover from festival sound equipment to GUNS' own gear took longer than anticipated and also caused complications with the festival's video crew, who were filming the event.

Catullo said that Rose, who is notorious for showing up late or not at all for concerts, was "the most insanely professional gentleman that I ever met. He came and did his job exactly as contracted."

The long delay led to a large portion of the crowd leaving before GUNS came on, while others hurled beer cans and other objects at the stage.

The Rock 'N Rev Festival, part of the 70th annual Sturgis Bike Rally, was the first U.S. concert appearance by GUNS N' ROSES in four years and only official U.S. show of 2010.

As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES has not canceled any of its upcoming shows, including high-profile slots at England's Reading and Leeds festivals, despite what appeared to be a message on Twitter from Axl Rose suggesting that the band was pulling out of its previously announced gigs. According to NME.com, festival organizers received confirmation from the band's management that Rose's Twitter account had been hacked and that the message was a fake, with next week's shows set to go forward as planned.

Yeah I don't know what's up with this biker shit.  Most of those bikes are worth more than my car when it was new.  Let me tell you when we drove through town at 3 the place was dead and the garbage collector was out.  Hardly the image I think people think of when they think of a wild biker party  :hihi:

As far as security, I had my kid there and so did other people.  I didn't fear for her safety or mine.  Amy saw several undercover security in the crowd.  One checking out my kid that was about to have his own problem  :hihi:

Again, I had a great time.  Monkey Rock did a great job, not enough kudos for them.  I asked the kid about the band.  Everyone seems to be interested in the teen opinion.  She though Richard was hot!  Axl amazes her, you're watching him and the next thing you know you're asking where did he go and he's all the way over on the other side of the stage.  I tried to sing along with the guy and was out of breath on the second song.  Hope they do this again next year, I would love to be there longer.  And if anybody cares, my butt has almost recovered.  I think I need a sheep skin in the car  :hihi:

HAhaha, yeah, the daytime was beautiful, by night I was FREEZING! OF course I didn't bring my jacket either since I got there at 9 am for soundcheck and didn't want to carry it around all day.

thought I would bump this topic up. Sense this is kind of an update. For those of you that have the cable station True TV. Tonight on the show Full Throttle Salloon they are airing the night GNR performed across the street. Should be interesting. A couple of shows ago they did show a clip or too of GNR also. For those of you that don't know Full Throttle Salloon is the largest biker bar in the World and Rock and Rev really put a damper on the biz they had in Sturgis this year.

Yeah actually i recorded it- i was watching it the other nite & they said how JACKYL performing at Full throttle had to compete against OZZY across the street at Sturgis then on the preiview for tonite they said they were gonna have their biggest competition yet against GNR so we'll see if they show much on that- pretty cool show tho- didnt know that bar was right across the street from STURGIS festival.

To clearify, Sturgis is a city not a place. Full Throttle Salloon is across the street from Rock in Rev. Rock in Rev actually tried to get the owner of Full throttle to help them out and let the shows go on at his place. But it didn't work out. So he lost a lot of biz to them. But Rock in Rev was very ill preparred also. they should have announced shows way earlier then they did. the shows did not sell well. GNR and Godsmack was the only two good selling nights. And they weren't great either.
