Another travel option for the o2 if you fancy something a little different is the thames clipper.

I don't suppose there's anyone on here that is interested in swapping a seated ticket (section BK 101, row R, seat 33) for a standing ticket ( :hihi: I know, but I thought I'd ask).

my friend said he'd try to get his own ticket but when the tickets went on sale he couldn't get through so he asked me to get him one and all I could get was a seat (literally 2 minutes earlier I managed to get 2 standing tickets for me and my brother). I was just wondering if there was someone who'd prefer a seat so we could all hang together on the floor.

PM me if you're interested.

yes about 4.30pm, chicago 6hrs behind london and Guns have been coming on stage about 22.40 (10.40pm)

as for special guests i have no idea... do you mean support acts or special appearances like Duff last time around.  if you mean special appearances i wouldnt imagine so but anything could happen i guess  :peace:

If this isn't going to be officially released afterwards, will anyone be able to provide a rip in full quality.

I'll be attending the show and so obviously would like to be able to rewatch it.

^^this^^

If the gig ends at 1:20 like all the others i may have to leave at 12:50 to get the last train to canning town.  so miss the final encore! ( i have a hotel booked @ the docklands) Bit o f luck it will end at 12:20 like it did last time at the o2

After seeing all the updates and videos from this current UK tour I am soooo excited about Thursday - haven't been this excited about seeing GnR since 1991 (my first time)  :D

Is it worth hanging around the venue afterwards for the chance to bump into the band at all? I've got a hotel booked nearby so in no rush to go anywhere  : ok:

Provided there's a clear exit in and out of the venue, and just the one that the band can take, you should see at least 4 of them going to their hotel/bus

There are certain people you just won't meet unless you're very lucky

And then there's one man you'll NEVER see lol

Not sure at the O2. Have been there a fair few times but always been in a rush to get out afterwards so will need to check on exits. We're getting up there early afternoon to book into the hotel so will probably have a scout around and then afterwards just wander about the area on the off chance - no chance I'll be tired so it's something to do  ;D

I don't get the phrase "high demand for delayed viewing".
Has there been critical voices against the live stream, and complaints that the shows should not air live?

In my opinion they should have done both the live stream, and a delayed viewing.

Was looking forward to seeing the show live, not knowing which setlist, what rants, solos, guest appearences? etc....

It will still be cool to see a pro shot later, but for us fans, it will (to me anyways)be kinda like seeing the champion league final in football the day after, when the result is already in... some of the excitement will be gone.

Yeah, I could, but the quality there is far from what I expected to be seeing tonight. Still different to follow a show live too, so will probably have a problem to stay away from the updates later anyways :)

oh that sucks  :'(

This sucks big time!   :(

I'm certainly not angry about this ... just really really really disappointed.  :'(

I understand it's business.  And if, as the e-mail states, there's a "high demand for delayed viewing" then I guess Spock was right and the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.

But why the fuck does "the one" always have to be me!!!!  :crying:
I was really really really looking forward to the LIVE stream.  And now I guess I'm going to shell out way more than $4.99 to purchase something that I know I'm never actually going to watch (but I'm a sucker and a fan and want to own more useless crap because I'm always the one that doesn't have all the cool useless crap that everyone else does).

As the saying goes ... Oh fuckin well  :-\

P.S. Thanks for listening to me vent and feel sorry for myself!   ;D

P.P.S.  Looking forward to tonight's show's updates and pics and stuff!!!  :P

So....let me get this right. You are bitching that instead of watching a HD live stream which, in a perfect world, sounds AWESOME - you get a perfect HD live recording a little while later?

Even on the best servers/streams such as YouTube/Coachella/Rock in Rio there was choppy picture, sound glitches, etc.
Now we will have a professional HD mix with no fuck ups and mistakes due to servers and high demand? :)

I am going to politely ask you sir to get the fuck out and not let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. : ok:

Why do you have a problem with him being dissapointed? What's the big deal? I'm dissapointed too. I wanted to see a stream and now I'm not...not a big deal either way but people are allowed to point it out and GNR has a tendancy to dissapoint fans quite a lot. Doesn't make me or him any less fans of the band. It makes us honest and not living in a dream world.

I read that lizzy stopt round 21:00, and thats pretty early. They shouldn't have kicked the other openers out, this means people have to waot longer and longer for their fav band to come up. So with 1,30hrs they should start any minute like every where else. People still dont get you have to wait at least an hour or hour and a half for guns to take the stage. Ive seen many promoters are getting the hang of that thought by mailing to everyone with a purchased ticket that. This is what my mail said:  dear mr.... you have purchasses a ticket to see guna n roses in ahoy, we are pleased to inform u that guns have gotten serious positive reviews fron shows lately and are putting up an extra long show 3 hours. There is the fact that guns my not yet have finished their set round 23:00 so if you go by public transportation keep notice of what this changes and inform yourself of the posibillities to come home.

Yes they do. I personally have no issue with GNR being late. Not a problem for me. I actually like it. But I'm not living in a dream world unlike some people here. Guess what? Some people have jobs. Some people have kids. Some people have lives! And if a band is late, you have every right in the world to show your displeasure. Nothing wrong with it at all. How does it make them morons? The band is late...they are unhappy...they are showing it. What's the problem and how does it make them morons? I personally wouldn't boo. But, I can completely understand why someoen would want to. Now if they start throwing things that's a different story. But, booing isn't going to hurt anyone and it's a perfectly acceptable way to show your displeasure in a situation such as this.

It was gone 11 when they came on at manchester but was 10.20 in birmingham. They are worth the wait but i can understand why people get restless, its tiring if you are stood up for that length of time. The crowd would be more lively if they came on earlier.

In this particular situation there are no start times listed for GNR on the website but, for the majority of the other shows on this tour there has been...and GNR was late for all of them. But, the point is GNR starts their shows when most bands end theirs and on top of that they play very long shows. Like I said, I don't have an issue with it. But I can certainly understand why some people would. Especially on a weeknight.

20 years and 9 months since the last time GNR played 14 years (it was in London too, at the Wembley Stadium, last Izzy's show the 31st of august 1991)

* Izzy came back in 1993 to replace Gilby a few shows, yeah...

20 years and 9 months since the last time GNR played 14 years (it was in London too, at the Wembley Stadium, last Izzy's show the 31st of august 1991)

* Izzy came back in 1993 to replace Gilby a few shows, yeah...

Did they play it for those few gigs in '93?

NO.

Think 14yrs last played at wembley 91 with izzy.. And i was there : )
THAT'S CORRECT, last time was london 30.08.1991

31, not 30!

IZZY STRADLIN Joins GUNS N' ROSES On Stage In London - May 31, 2012

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin joined his former band on stage earlier tonight (Thursday, May 31) at the O2 Arena in London, England to perform the songs "14 Years", "You Could Be Mine", Dead Flowers", "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", "Nightrain" and "Paradise City".

The last time the "Use Your Illusion II" song "14 Years" was performed live by GUNS N' ROSES was in August 1991, also in London.

Stradlin previously joined GN'R on stage for a few shows in 2006.

Both Izzy and GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose skipped the band's recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Stradlin issued a statement the week before the induction, thanking his bandmates, the Hall Of Fame for "the acknowledgment of our works over the years," and the fans who "have supported GUNS N' ROSES from day one."

Former GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan joined Axl Rose on stage for the first time in seventeen years at the band's October 14, 2010 concert in London.

Nice!  London is one lucky city when it comes to GNR lately it seems.  Maybe Dust N' Bones tomorrow night?  Or, like someone mention, Down By The Ocean.

Why was the end of NR restarted?

I was sat in line with the stage, and as far as I can tell Axl wanted Ron to look at the camera man in front of him on the floor.

Which sort of screams he wanted to do over for a perfect take they could clip together. DVD of the night makes sense to me.

Brilliant night- congratulations Axl and the guys!

Can see that they might also film tonight, for continuity reasons if a DVD is in the pipeline.  Two chances at the same venue, after all the cameras are there, so whats another night of filming compared to setting up from scratch, would need to wear the same clothes for the same songs though.

They have every right to boo. Doesn't make them morons.

no they dont and yes it does

Yes they do. I personally have no issue with GNR being late. Not a problem for me. I actually like it. But I'm not living in a dream world unlike some people here. Guess what? Some people have jobs. Some people have kids. Some people have lives! And if a band is late, you have every right in the world to show your displeasure. Nothing wrong with it at all. How does it make them morons? The band is late...they are unhappy...they are showing it. What's the problem and how does it make them morons? I personally wouldn't boo. But, I can completely understand why someoen would want to. Now if they start throwing things that's a different story. But, booing isn't going to hurt anyone and it's a perfectly acceptable way to show your displeasure in a situation such as this.

how can the band be late on stage when theres no start time stated anywhere on the ticket, venue or elsewhere....

all booing does is make upset

In this particular situation there are no start times listed for GNR on the website but, for the majority of the other shows on this tour there has been...and GNR was late for all of them. But, the point is GNR starts their shows when most bands end theirs and on top of that they play very long shows. Like I said, I don't have an issue with it. But I can certainly understand why some people would. Especially on a weeknight.

if fans are bored of waiting then why not chant for "Guns N' Roses" instead of Booing!
its more polite for a start and it helps kick off the show rather than spoiling the atmosphere before the band have even hit the stage.... yeah i know people have to work and they have lives to live but they know the score or at least they should do by now!!.... its a fuckin' rock n roll show not JLS or fuckin' Take That

i know you dont have the issue but why defend them when they BOO your favourite band   :peace:

Sounds like an awesome night! Time has stopped, sitting in work reading this waiting to leave so that I can travel to London to see them tonight. So excited, hope Izzy makes an appearance again. Last time in London I attended the first night and Duff joined them on the second so really don't want to miss Izzy too. But whatever happens, no matter what time the show starts, it will be amazing as it always is with GnR live   :)

Never said changing the sound, in continuity work if the sound is fine they'll keep it, but it would be about getting the odd clip of something that was "better" than what is already in the can.  Call it fine tuning if you like, but I understand that a few words were forgotten during 14 years, well tonight this could be put right.  BTW, there isn't anything wrong with seeing it in the raw state, imo it might just be the time to have a bit of artistic licence on a release. No evidence this is gonna happen, just that it would make sense to do so if a release of a live show is the plan.

Thanks G n' R for another amazing night.... you've done it again!

Still trying to get my ahead around what I witnessed last night/this morning. So if I may, just a few observations:

- Thin Lizzy's set was off the hook - over one hour long, with all the best bits from the 'Live and Dangerous' album plus 'Black Rose'.  8) Crowd were really into it, which is a nice change from the usual apathy that greets support acts.

The new singer and bassist (can't remember their names) do justice to Phil's parts. The twin guitar harmonies are still jaw dropping. Thanks to Scott and Brian for keeping Lizzy alive! It also hit me during 'Don't Believe A Word' that 4tus may be the coolest cat I've ever laid eyes on. I also spied our very own Mother Goose Pitman enjoying the show from the side of the stage.

- Axl - The man was in good spirits and fine voice all night. Nailed every note and did some awesome ad libbed bits in 'Sorry' and 'Knockin'. Though I do have to say that his vocals seemed a bit low in the mix for much of the show. And I could see that he was chuffed to bits with the crowd reaction at times a bashful - yes a bashful - little smile broke out on his face when he was up on the monitors, feeling our love. He clearly still loves what he does, and I hope he goes on doing it until he drops!

- Everything that everyone has said about this band getting tighter is true. Bumble, DJ and 4tus do really own their parts  now, and are working the crowd just as hard as Axl does. Loved 4tus's new country pickin style solo and Bumbles 'Glad to be Here' (much better than 'Bond' and 'Panther'). General Stinson wielded his bass like a true gunner, and Lieutenants Pitman and Reed ably traversed the terrain of the songs. And Franks beats are propelling the others into new valleys of groove on songs like RQ and Shacklers, which is the way a good band should roll.

- When Izzy got up there, it was as if he'd never been away. I could sense that there's still a lot of love between him and Axl even after they've been through. and there was lots of chemistry between him and DJ, Bumble and 4tus. Couldn't really hear what he was playing, but his vox on 14 years and YCBM were as endearingly ragged as ever.

No disrespect to anyone (ANYONE) who has been in the band since, but when Axl and Izzy got up on that stage together, we saw the true heart of Guns N Roses beating. The Hall of Fame can stick their phony accolade up their arse!

- Where I was, (stage centre, about 3 rows from the front), the crowd were absolutely nuts all night. The pit was slamming right until the last note of PC. Try telling them that this wasn't the 'real' Guns N' Roses. This is my fifth time seeing Guns in London, and it every time the crowd seems to have much more of a mix of male and female, young, middle aged and old, and (to a lesser extent), white black and asian. The legend will live on, fuck the haters!

On a separate but related note, my old dad had his first G n' R concert experience last night (he was safely at the back, in the seats!) He thought it was an amazing show.

- On the booing - yeah I know it's frustrating for the fans to have to wait, and for the real fans to have to put up with the oafs. But the booing and the waiting seems to be part of the show now, so I didn't let it bother me. Most of it porabably came from those who were there to get pissed  rather than to enjoy what's happening on stage. Besides, everyone forgot the time it took to wait when Chinese Democracy kicked off!

- Thanks to the o2 (and I presume, the G n' R camp) for chartering extra late trains to get us back to Central London. When Axl said before PC 'We need to get you out of here so you can get the last train home - I'm trying to do the right thing here - I'm just give give give!' I thought he was joking. (Trains stop around 00,30 in London - this was 01.30). But no, he was right again.

Right now, I'm just so grateful to have been in the right place at the right time to share this historic show with everyone. And yes. I was down front for the o2 show in 2010 where Duff pitched up.

I thought it was pretty cool when DJ jumped the railings and took photos/put his guitar on that guy in the wheelchair - that was pretty awesome  : ok:

I did manage to get a look at one of the setlists that the steward near me had - he was being a dick but I did manage to see OMG, Riff Raff and Whole Lotta Rosie - although the songs weren't in any kind of running order (and obviously they weren't played).

I really liked what they did with DC and KOHD  :peace:

I think, although I'm not 100% sure, that Think About You *may* have been on the sheet I saw too, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter seeing as they didn't play it..

I was gonna ask the steward if I could have the sheets when we were leaving but he'd been a little Hitler all night so I didn't think he would give it up...

That was an amazing show. It's a shame it had to end, I didn't see a single person leaving early and as someone else mentioned the booing seems to be part of the show now, you get a lot of pent up frustration and as soon as the houselights drop it's getting released.

I hope this VOD thing gets released soon, can't wait to relive the show.

Also have to say the security staff at the o2 were excellent, quick and efficient dealing with issues, and handing out water constantly to keep people up the front hydrated.

Best arena in the country by a long shot for sound as well.

Just back from London after staying overnight up there (glad I did) - what an amazing show!!  : ok: The booing is horrible but have heard it before and I always want to say something but end up not wasting my breath trying to talk to morons!

Think this might be one of the best GnR shows I've seen and seeing Izzy again was totally the highlight (I did see him in 2006 as well as with the old band). The love he got was awesome. I have to admit Axl sounded prefect, his voice is truly the best its been and the band sounded so tight. Big thumbs up to Frank, man that guy puts a lot of work in :)

Highlights were definitely Izzy on stage, Civil War & Estranged (great to see those back) and Shacklers. Am I the only one who's a bit bored of Sweet Child? Been hearing it since it came out and I have to say I don't think it gets me excited any more (apart from the outro which still rocks). I'm not at all disappointed with the shortened ending even though I love Madagascar and Patience but considering they did a few extra songs with Izzy it's all goood and we pretty much got close to 3 hours  ;D

Anyway, one of the best shows I've ever seen and Thin Lizzy...well...the rocked beyond belief - almost had a tear in my eye when they played Whisky in the Jar - one of my all time favourite songs....wish I was going tonight!

Btw - shame Richard Fortus didn't do his Bond theme - was looking forward to that - was tempted to stay up there to see him busking but had to get back home unfortunately. And BBF's "Glad to be Here" is now one of my favourite songs...

Agreed. Wish they would sub out Sweet Child for a different song. But then people would complain. Can't make people happy these days.

Yes, even if I agree on the feelings about SCOM, the general audience would be pretty disappointed if they didn't play it.

Some songs have to remain staples even if we like it or not, at least at the bigger arena shows.

Sweet Child still gets the best reaction from the average gig goer.

Yes but for us it gets very annoying

i still get goosebumps when i hear it live, but thats just me  :peace:

Sounds like a good concert. Love the fact that Izzy showed up. I'm not exactly sure why you would sub out Sweet Child. Yes, it's overplayed but that song is still one of the best GNR songs.  That song helped GNR.  I don't think  that the big 3 should ever get replaced in a concert.

Stinks that the highlight of the tour is a reunion with an original member

That was a mean comment ...!!!

come on! i mean, come on!

Highlight is the whole concert...! The energy, the setlist, everything. Watching Izzy, is the cherry on the top of the cake. Perfoming "14 years" after 21...years  :peace: is more highlight than we could ever imagine..

I can't believe that you said that. Seeing Izzy and Acl together again was much better then seeing Velvet Revolver with Miles Kennedy at the RORHOF. :hihi:
It was also cool to see Axl on the tambourine. It's my dream to be the GNR tambourine girl. :hihi: ;)

I have to agree. I saw Slash and Myles a few weeks ago at a gig and although Myles isn't too bad a singer he really struggled with the GnR songs and they really didn't sound too great. Slash's new stuff was very good but seeing Axl and Izzy is worlds apart and with the new band the songs just sound amazing.

I did notice Izzy looking a bit lost in places, especially when extra long solos were going on but I think he definitely enjoyed it  ;D

Gotta laugh that the night with 25 cams and Izzy... Axl cuts the night short... WTF? :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
It wasn't really cut short. They came on at 10:40pm, ended at 1:30am so they played for 2 hours and 50 minutes. Just didn't go on as long as Axl wanted. :D

I only got a couple of glances at the song list but from what I saw they played almost everything on there. I'd guess they were only going to keep playing for another 10 minutes or so. Either way though I think if Axl hadn't said anything and they'd just gone straight into Paradise City no one would have known that wasn't the plan all along. Everyone (everyone who knew what they were talking about anyway) seemed to be expecting it to end at about 1:30.

Sounds like Axl and Izzy changed up that last chorus...

"You just dont run away, in just one day"

I love how Axl says the first part, you can see him smile and laugh, and they continue singing. GNR "raw" element always came from the Axl+Izzy combo, seeing those two together is always a good thing. Especially after the whole RRHOF debacle. The "they don't care about the fans" can shove it up their ass.

It's not THE highlight - it's a highlight.  I was just as thrilled when they played TWAT a couple of weeks ago.  Izzy was a double bonus though because not only was he there but they did 14 Years & Dead Flowers!

About London, I don't know, I thought we would get it at the end of the European Tour...

Dear fans, due to the high demand for delayed viewing the band has decided to record the show rather than stream it live (stupid reason, they could have done both). The concert will be made available as video on demand in a few weeks time so that fans all over the world can watch it at their convenience. (looks like we can forget all about it now, just like the Better video)

Would have loved to have seen the Better video, that 30 sec clip really rocked. I also can't help but think how cool it would be to be able to purchase a pro shot video of a show you attended. If GN'R offered this, I'd have purchased all 30 of the shows I've been to. All they would have to do is set it up on the official website, and then ship accordingly. It would actually be a real money earner for the band as I know they would continuely sell loads.

livebeats :Thanks for your comments everyone. The release is not dependent on Axl Rose, but it must be coordinated with other contractual arrangements. It's as simple as that.

Strange: http://blog.livebeats.com

"A few final touches and the show can start. It will be made available as video on demand on the Internet and it will be released in movie theaters all over the world. The waiting was worthwhile, trust us."

Maybe it's just delayed then in Germany? Oct. 29 seemed like a very early release... (most other countries releases are in November and December)

Livebeats said earlier that the Germany cinemas jumped the gun on the announcement. It might just be that the October date was too early, and they'll announce a new date later.

Where did Livebeats say this?

Didn't see anything about that on their twitter.

Hope it's the case though.....

I would have provided the link if I could remember exactly where I read it. I know I read it though.

It was either their twitter, facebook or someone on a forum had asked them a question and got a reply.

Sorry.

I really want to see this as although I never attended last years London shows (seen the two, 02 shows in 2010), I did attend all of the other UK shows and the Dublin show before that, and the Rotterdam and Paris show which was straight after them. So I know the band was in TOP form around this time, so I just know that the performance is going to be amazing, so I want to see this so much.

Someone in Asia who can record this, needs to be a hero and sort it out for the rest of us.  ;)

Wonder what the logic was behind sticking it on TV and not publicising it, to the point that big fans like us lot here didn't even now it was going to be on!? Seems a strange decision to me!

If anyone spots it on the English tv schedules, let us know!

It was recorded the first time, it just takes some time to get stuff from Japan. It should be shared soon I think, but it's also complicated to share because it is/ might be an official release.

The movie is scheduled to be shown at several movie theaters in Sweden in February and March: http://www.fhp.nu/Hem/Alla-evenemang/Konsert/Konsertfilm-Guns-N-Roses/?tab=dates

Sharing and downloading this is not different from sharing and downloading the latest movies.

Please consider this before posting any links to it, if you come across any.

Official trailers and so on is a completely different matter.

Yes, the problem is that it's basically an official release (even if it's not the Las Vegas 3D show), it will be shown in theaters in some countries, etc.

I guess it would be "ok" to trade it for B+P and stuff like that, but uploading it and sharing it would be like sharing Tokyo 1992... I do know the HD file is out there, I received different screenshots.

We don't know if the band will release it on DVD or something (I doubt it because of Vegas), but we never know. It will probably be available on bootleg very soon and then it will be uploaded/ torrented I guess.

This is something we shouldn't download until the GNR camp were to indicate it is okay. Otherwise it is like stealing a move.  It is intellectual property and I feel this day in age there needs to be more respect.

I doubt the band would be bothered that the real fans have a copy of it, seeing as it was shown on TV after all.

I would love the oppertunity to see it in the Cinema (i had the tickets) but seeing as that's not possible here any more, i don't see the problem.

Personally I was at the show (and the vegas one) and it was a great show, just a shame it ended early!

Why are they showing a concert shot in HD on a non HD channel in the US. Makes it being shot in HD utterly pointless.

They have GNR Live at the O2 listed on Palladia (which is in HD), the closer it gets to it being shown on VH1 Classic, they'll probably have the dates it'll be on there as well. I think any of the widescreen concerts on VH1 Classic, they just have to be zoomed in.

That's pretty weird indeed...and also pretty weird that VH1 isn't in HD... I mean, it's 2013, not 2003... I highly doubt they will air the 2hrs20min. anyway, with a commercial break every 15 minutes, it would last like 3 hours or more...!

He asked to explain the tweet in an easier language, and specifically "Axl TMS". As there's no year mentioned there, and apparently he knew it stood for "That Metal Show". How was he expecting us others to draw anything else from that phrase?

Video 6 pack > what's this?

full new concert > what *new* concert?

Axl TMS > what does this mean?

My guess was: Axl will be on TMS again, and in that episode Eddie Trunk will premiere 6 songs from the new London 02 movie.

But I dont have a clue if I am understanding the tweet correctly, and that's why I was asking for help to you guys who speak english in the daily life. Yeah, I also know ''Axl'' is GN'R's singer...

Well this is an official release, I think that's part of the problem. Probably some people have it but can't share it because it would be like torrenting Tokyo 1992. Also, it's available in Japan on a bootleg 2 DVDR release (not even in HD!) since a few days so this might be torrented soon...

About the broadcast on VH1 Classic, I'd like to know how much they will really air from the London show, without the commercials and stuff...

GUNS N' ROSES: 2012 London Concert To Air On VH1 CLASSIC Next Month - Feb. 16, 2013

GUNS N' ROSES' June 2012 performance at London, England's O2 Arena will be broadcast on VH1 Classic on March 9 as part of a five-hour GN'R special. The night will kick off at 8:00 p.m. with a one-hour, all-GUNS N' ROSES video block hosted by "That Metal Show"'s Eddie Trunk, followed by the London concert and a rebroadcast of the Axl Rose "That Metal Show" episode.

The big-screen premiere of GUNS N' ROSES' 2012 performance at O2 Arena was scheduled for last October at select theaters in Europe but was "postponed" by the band's management.

A trailer for the concert film, which promised to show the grand finale of the band's U.K. tour in "stunning" HD quality and Surround Sound, can be seen below.

Now that Guns N 'Roses will release London 2012 via VH1 Classic there will be direct negative comments about the band, axl, "the old band", etc.. Although Guns N 'Roses would be releasing 10 new discs, 5 dvds and make 3 world tour so it would still unfortunately continue. Either you like Guns N 'Roses or not, accept the setting as it is. It helps neither you or no one else to sit here and complain about all sorts of things, also as you probably know, nor the background to why the situation as it is or has been in the past, many based their sentences on things they either had separately or 've read that they thought was the truth. Leave the forum and start listening and following another band instead of spreading shit here.

I do not either understand why people are so worried about them showing the entire london 2012 or not, what is the problem? Be happy that Guns N 'Roses show it at all.

that sucks its only 1.5 hours. add in commercials and that's probably less than an hour's worth of the actual concert which is only about 1/3 of the show. it'll be interesting to see what songs they decide to show and if they include any from CD.

If the first performace airing on March 2nd is only 90 minutes but the other airing will be longer, than I'll probably wait until the March 9th airing. I just wonder why they would have two different lengths to air.

VH1 has much more important things to air like Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and other reality shit...

VH1 Classic and Palladia are more dedicated to music and concerts. The Palladia show is going to be AWESOME in full HD.

live Saturdays are used usually for premieres of concerts. In the past year I have seen Lollapalooza 3 hour show, Hangout Festival 3 hour show, Soundgarden live show, etc. all long shows in entirety. I'm not worried about this - GNR should have that full 3 hour block 8pm-11pm for the concert.

That's very cool. Almost all the good stuff is relegated to VH1 Classic. Nice to see GNR on their main channel.

Could be the start of more mainstream interest. Casual fans still haven't really seen them live they STILL think GNR is just a shell of its former self with Axl and some hired guns.

The quality is incredible. Axl sounds pretty good. People shouldn't complain about the lack of rasp. The last time Axl sang raspless was the 2002 tour. I honestly think he's singing clean to save his voice for recording. From what I've read, GN'R recorded a lot between 2002 and 2006, by the time the NY 2006 shows comes about Axl sounded great with a beautiful combination of rasp and clean vocals, which I think was due to Axl's parts on CD being finished (mostly). So, honestly I think he has been or will be recording vocals very soon. I really Hope I'm right.

Hopefully it will be released on VOD or something, because most people won't be able to see it (except USA and Japan for TV, and a few Northern European countries for theaters).

I guess most fans will download the torrents or whatever, since it's not available for purchase. The band should have made it available on their web site or something!

The few clips I'v seen of this looks great! Can't wait to get the whole gig! I just moved, so I'm not online at my new house yet.  :(
Hopefully that'll sort it self out in the next few days. :)

Us kids/young adults are pretty much used to or "demand" instant access to music, movies, TV-shows etc etc.

Sure GNR tried to act as if they are in 2012/2013 with plans of streaming/VOD'ing this gig. And to give them some credit, they HAVE done it lately, to the benefit of fans worldwide. But this time, VH1's old fashion business model could prolly write them a bigger check. Thus making starved fans wait....
If GNR choose to distribute this gig into fragmented corners of the world. They are asking for piracy. People's frustration with big companies refusing to leave the comfort of their old business models, in the end brought us services like Spotify, Netflix, HBO Go (and HBO Nordic here in Scandinavia). Personally, I pay for all these services. And so do millions of people!

For many fans (the majority I believe), It's not a question of getting stuff for free. It's a question of getting stuff!

Every country's different on the rules. Most CDs have some sort of "do not duplicate" message on the booklet or disc. I'm sure iTunes and Amazon have some sort of blurb about not distributing and selling the music.

It's not like taking a car (it can be argued that it's worse, a car can be recovered and insurance can cover the loss), but it takes away from a band's ability to control their work and be compensated.

This is broadcast-related, if you have cable, you can record whatever you want on DVR, but I know they also have copy protect on some channels.

Hmmmm... I don't get the sarcasm...? No offense but we don't know if they thought about it or not (or can do it or not in the contract with the producer). And yes it would be a good idea for the fans who can't see it on TV, in theaters or can't/ won't download it.

This has probably been asked before, but does anyone know about a possible CD release of this show? That would be amazing. Riding with the top down rocking out some serious quality live Gn'R would be heaven.

To my knowledge this is not in the works... That would be could to see it as an iTunes release or something. :)

With the upcoming release of the Vegas show it's unlikely

I guess I'm totally out of the loop here, but what is going on with the Vegas show being released? DVD or CD?  All I know about is the 02 show.

In my Country, if an artist broadcasts something, we are allowed to make a copy of that broadcast. If an artist makes an original work, and we lawfully acquire a copy of such work, we are allowed to make a back-up of said work.

What we can't do is make copies or distribute copies someone else has made with any commercial intent or in such a way that it significantly impacts an artist's financial position.

If someone downloads a concert that has been broadcast on television, radio or internet, copies said concert and then distributes it in a low key way, at no cost to any person, what is being done is not unlawful in my country.

Yes an artist is entitled to protect his works, yes he is entitled to decide how and when the work is released and yes they are entitled to sell their works or distribute them through whatever means they feel like, but they aren't permitted to make any rule they want regarding their works, as the consumer in my country has lawful rights too.

If GNR broadcasts this concert, it's no more unlawful to download a recording of this broadcast in my country, than it is to play my copy of the ChiDem album at a friends house, for their listening pleasure.

GNR has the right to protect their IP in this work. If they broadcast it, they lose the right to control what happens to a copy of that work made by an individual, so long as said copy isn't exploited for commercial gain, or in a manner that impacts the artist in a significant financial way.

Which is why the big American copyrights holders, are trying to make our ISP's fiscally responsible for the downloads that occur on their networks... Because suing individuals for this particular scenario, as they have done in America, can't happen in Australia.

This needs to be released officially in some form, and I would pay very good money for it.

As I said, I don't have the means to use torrents as I only have a laptop and don't have excellent speed as it is due to all my HD concert videos from my touring with GN'R since 2006. So I would have to buy this from some bootlegger, if it's not released officially or something, which is a shame.

This concert rocks like hell.

Yes I remember don't worry lol. What I meant is that they should do it now in addition to the TV and theaters release. ;) Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough, I was talking about this time around, not the first time it was scheduled (3-4 months ago)! It would be the best way for all the fans, and I don't know why they can't do it...

Or they could do like Muse with the War Child concert: make it available for free on YouTube in 720p and 1080p lol.

Watch Guns N? Roses: Live From The O2 In London On VH1
by Mark Graham (@unclegrambo)

If you didn?t get a chance to see Guns N? Roses at an arena near you while they were embarking on their massive worldwide tour last year, you?re in luck. Tomorrow night, Saturday, March 2, Guns N? Roses: Live From The O2 In London will premiere on VH1 at 11 p.m. ET/PT as part of the Palladia Presents series.

While you?ll have to tune-in tomorrow night to witness for yourself the spell that Axl is still able to put audiences under, we?ve got a couple of sneak clips live for you today, which you can use to get a taste of what?s to come. Check out ?Welcome To The Jungle? above, and we?ve also got ?Sweet Child O? Mine? and the show-stopping ?Paradise City? for you to sample, too.

Guns N? Roses: Live From The O2 In London will begin showing on VH1 Classic starting on March 9, and will make its way to Palladia on March 16.

Entertainment lawyers staying gainfully employed, and as soon as "America" is mentioned, it's MPAA and RIAA on a hunt. People just need to be careful what they're downloading, my rule of thumb is the newer it is, the more you'll show up on the radar. If you're getting a handful of bootlegs, it's not going to be a big deal.

But I'm surprised you're not seeing the music and movie industry putting out files with a Trojan "cop"  that busts people when they open the file.

For good reason. Such activity would constitute a criminal offence in just about every country on Earth, including the USA...

But I am not referring to ripping the latest blu-ray release or grabbing a copy of the latest GNR CD or the newest movie off The Pirate Bay or whatever. Those sorts of things ARE illegal in my country.

I'm referring specifically to works broadcast over mediums such as free to air or cable television, radio or Internet. Such events, given they are broadcast freely to any who wish to watch (including cable TV despite the fact it's accessable by way of subscriber only) are allowably recordable and distributable so long as there is no commercial intent behind the activity and doing so doesn't significantly financially impact the copyright owner.

So effectively what our law says is: if a GNR concert is broadcast on tv in Australia and I record it, I can make copies of it, show it to other people, even put it on a torrent site if I wish, or obtain it from a torrent site, so long as I don't charge any money for it...

Which is why the MPAA, RIAA, AFACT and so on, are suing our ISP's. Because if anyone can be seen to impact rights holders financially, it's the ISP's who are doing so by "allowing" or facilitating these actions (plus they've got the cash to pay liquidated damages). Even the most shifty lawyer hasn't yet worked out a way to prove that if I download a single copy of the O2 concert from TPB or wherever, that I am significantly impacting GNR or whoever they've licenced this to in a material way, according to our Copyright laws.

The ISP's of course just point to their user policies and argue they aren't allowing this, they specifically forbid it copyright infringement, however they are forbidden by law to monitor individual internet use, except for security, network admin purposes, billing and so on.

So far however the copyright holders aren't winning these arguments, the ISP's are...

I will be watching for sure! I just saw the clips and I think they sound good. The band sounds good, Axl sounds good. I have a feeling I'm going to be playing the audio of this show a lot more than watching it though... My only issue right now seems to be the editing. Way too many cuts. They cant focus on anyone in the band for a few seconds before it jumps to someone else. I don't need the camera to only be on Axl but it would be nice to focus on him while he's singing a bit more and especially on the guitarists when they are soloing but Im finding the cuts quite annoying.

How people get their music's already changed, it's going to change more.

"Forbidden by law" sometimes gets overridden by things like "national security" and "child porn". It's the old cop and the broken taillight excuse to rip apart the car and have a big ass dog scratching up the seat. If there's a way around it,  they'll find it.

We'll carry this on another time, another thread.

What's really weird is that the March 2nd broadcast is only 1.5 hours long, as someone else has already pointed out, but the March 9th broadcast of the same show will be 3.5 hours long, not including the GNR video block that will air before the concert.  Maybe the March 2nd broadcast is commercial free?  More likely the March 9th show will just have more footage/songs from teh concert.  If true, weird that they wouldn't air that first.  Either way, gonna be awesome and can't wait!

I'm sure it's cause VH1 airtime is more expensive and "precious" because they have reality shows to air.

With Palladia and VH1Classic they have time to air it due to being music-oriented and driven!

You're right.... The video editing must of been done by someone with ADHD.

I like it, and Axl sounds great, but the set list is mostly old stuff so I am missing CD.
The mixing seems to be done, so I wonder if this will soon be an official release on Blu Ray (?)
Hope so, would like to see the full show.

All of DJ's solo were out of the mix entirely for the first 3-4 songs and more... The only song he was more present in was Sweet Child and faint in a November Rain solo.

I'd bet my life savings we still hear bitching about Axl. It never fails. Fuck em! He looks and sounds amazing!

Editing sucked, Axl's lips stopped moving and he's still singing.  Camera shots were great, nice job there except the audience shots.  Good concert though.  Seemed strange not to see Beta and Fernando.

I realize that editing can distort reality, but my general impression from this show, personal experience, and countless boots is that European audiences are much more enthusiastic than American audiences.

This is what I get for not visiting this site as frequently as I used to. I had no idea this was even airing until I was flipping channels earlier and just happened to stumble across it. Quite a nice surprise, but I missed the first 20 minutes.

I saw an ad a few minutes ago on VH1 Classic about how next Saturday is devoted completely to GNR. At 8 p.m. they're showing nothing but GNR music videos, and apparently each one is introduced by Eddie Trunk. Then the extended version of the concert, followed by the Axl Rose episode of That Metal Show.

I like this show a lot.

Kind of wish this was the DVD, and not the one from Vegas.  Axl sounds better here.

I know this is probably buried in this thread somewhere, but was this the show that was originally played once on TV, then pulled because it wasn't 100% agreed upon or approved?

If so was it ever edited or modified from it's original version/form?

The reason I ask is I remember watching it on TV that opening night and getting almost motion sickness from the amount of times the camera would change in a short period of time. They never left the camera on one person or at one angle for more than a few seconds.

Thanks.

I hope the visual experience got worked out, because if it's the show I'm thinking of the sound was awesome.

I don't if this has been posted here and this is long topic but anyway, found this.

HD version of the trailer + there's 10 sec of "BETTER" in it. I don't recall that it was in the original trailer.
