That's a lot of time zones in a short period. Their body clocks are going to be crazy. Mexico to Indonesia? Then later, Hong King to UAE? Then South Africa to Hawaii? Wow.

This is a big discussion about time zones now in Europe because it looks certain that the stupidity of moving clocks twice a year will go away in the European Union.

But how much this really affects on the artist. Just go there and get sleep when there is a gap in the schedule. Do you really need to know the local time as long as someone does know when to get on the stage and how much time left to prepare.

I have no idea, just wondering.

Of course it has an effect on people. It's not just the different time zones. It's the travel as well.

Your internal clock tells you to go sleep, but where you are it's noon. Sure, you can go sleep, but you might have work to do. Or after a show you're supposed to go back to the hotel and sleep, but your internal clock says it's afternoon...

I'm not complaining, just pointing out that time differences do affect people. Some more, some less.  :)

Every picture I have ever seen of the place is gorgeous, but there are definite drawbacks to living in Hawaii.

No pro sports, few concerts, crazy time change, etc.

Hey guys - I'm looking at flying over for this show, but the start time will determine whether I go or not, as I have to fly out the same night. Thankfully there's a midnight flight.

On the website (http://alohastadium.hawaii.gov/event/guns-n-roses-larger-than-life-not-in-this-lifetime-tour/), it says start time is 6:00pm (Doors at 4:30pm).

This seems early to me. Can anyone confirm? Is there a venue curfew? Thanks a bunch in advance.  : ok:

I wouldn't know but historically on this tour the starting time has been as advertised. If they say that time then it is that.

Have a great show, unfortunately that is out of my reach :crying:

Yes, that's correct for now.

The start time isn't necessarily the start of GN'R's set.

On a side note, what are they doing this week? Chillin' on the beach in Hawaii?

You might miss the end of the show, or lots of it, though.

You'll have to be at the airport in advance and get there. That's a couple of hours before midnight....

I'm assuming there might be an opening act before GN'R. So GN'R would probably go on after 7pm at the earliest. Add three hours and we're looking at past 10pm.....

Guns N' Roses Donating Funds From First-Ever Hawaii Show to Andy Irons Foundation: Exclusive

12/3/2018 by Taylor Mims

The band will play Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Dec. 8

Guns N’ Roses will donate a portion of the proceeds from their first-ever show in Hawaii to the Andy Irons Foundation, Billboard can reveal. The legendary rock band will play Aloha Stadium on Dec. 8 as part of their Not In This Lifetime tour.

The Andy Irons Foundation is a charitable organization created in honor of the late surfing legend who was born in Hawaii and went on to win three world titles in the sport between 2002-2004. After Irons passed away in November of 2010, his wife Lyndie Irons created the foundation in his name to raise awareness and institute programs for young people pertaining to mental health, drug recovery, and learning disabilities.

“It is such an honor to partner with Guns N' Roses for their first ever show in Hawaii,” Lyndie Irons said in a release. “As Andy sought solace through music, my goal with the Andy Irons Foundation is to offer hope and vital programs for young people struggling with mental illness, drug abuse, and learning disabilities. I am truly grateful for such an amazing experience with one of Andy's all-time favorite bands.”

In addition to being a top-ranking surfer, Andy Irons was a passionate music fan. Andy and Lyndie’s son Axel, named in honor of Axl Rose, will be turning eight years old on the day of Guns N’ Roses’ Dec. 8 show.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold to Guns N’ Roses’ historic concert at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium will be given to AIF and will mark their only U.S. show in 2018.

Guns N’ Roses’ Not In This Lifetime tour kicked off in 2016 and has already played more than 150 dates across the globe to more than five million fans. This year, the band has played 13 stadiums along with five summer festival headlining slots across Europe. Produced by Live Nation, the trek visited Asia for six stops in November.

The Not In This Lifetime tour was named one of the top five grossing tours of all time earlier this year based on Billboard Boxscore archives. The band had grossed more than $475 million prior to their 2018 dates.

But people living in Hawaii don't probably move around so much and they don't have that many events coming their way like there isn't much professional sports like everywhere else on the mainland. So this should be a big one.

Overpriced is probably the answer.

what happens now that the tour is coming to an end, with Slash booked up until late 2019 with his side project will GnR continue in its current line-up will they go into the studio and try and do an album surely the time is right for them to move on and try something different as opposed to constantly doing the nostalgia  tours .I'm sure Axl has a massive vault of material that the others could work on and if Izzy was brought back in they could put out some really great songs we live In hope

I think the chances of Izzy returning are slim to none. He hasn't been a part of the band for many, many years now and seems to be happy with it being that way. As a fan, I'm more than happy with the band as it is now.

That was a case of stubborn fools being stubborn fools.  They knew the second they could patch it up, $BIG DOLLAZ$ was a guarantee.  All they had to do was get along well enough to play songs they already wrote 25-30 years ago.

This?  Not the same thing.  They haven't worked together in a creative capacity in 25 plus years.  You have 2 guys who are super ambitious, and one guy that hasn't shown creative ambition in at least 15 years.  That's going to come together now, out of nowhere?

That's a hard sell.

Izzy played with GnR in 2012 on a good few gigs nobody saw that happening and certainly nobody in their wildest dreams saw Slash and Axl getting on stage together after such a long gap of bitterness and mud slinging, but who knows what lies ahead after the reunion tour anything is possible.

There's a massive leap between getting together on stage and playing songs and being in a studio creating new material. That takes bands that have been working together  uninterrupted a long, long time, let alone ones that haven't.

Good to remain optimistic, but it's crazy to think they're going to go into a studio and just bang out an album quickly. Even if they cancelled all their other plans and did nothing but focus on writing and recording in a studio I still believe it would be at least a few years away, if it ever even saw the light of day.

Exactly right.

I'd also add that if Slash and Duff have commitments all through 2019, that not only knocks out that year, you have to also assume they'd want a little downtime afterwards too.

So I think, at best, you are talking a starting point for a new album somewhere in 2020.

I think it more likely there is another tour in 2021 or 2022 - Guns N' Roses : Why The Hell Not, Right?

I'd go with this being the most likely scenario....with a live album maybe being released in the interim period.

When the band say "we're concentrating on the tour" that's exactly what they're doing. It's very odd that people expect a new album to appear out of nowhere, suddenly. That disregards not only GNR history, but also it's present. There seemed to be an expectation that one night of the tour they'd just reel out a brand new song....written and recorded where? Mid-flight from one city to another?!

I'm totally at a loss to see why anyone would expect an album anytime remotely soon. A cover version....again, maybe. There might be some truth in the T-Rex cover rumour, but even recording and producing that will take time.

Because there are no more gigs listed. That's why. Nothing more or less.

I'm a non-believer but I also try to understand why some people may believe in something.

It's setting themselves up for disappointment though. There is no way a band are going to drop a studio album, out of nowhere, during an extensive world tour. To think otherwise is just madness. If we hear nothing for, say, two years then OK, people can build up their hopes for a new album, but as it is right now? Nothing but disappointment awaits them. And that's not really GNR's fault!

Of course but we don't really know how much some material could be nearly ready. Not done mid-air in some aeroplane but maybe during some boring times in some hotel room faraway from home.

They'll be knackered! 3 hour + shows, and the travel? That would tire out even a young man. I imagine the last thing they want to do is then try and write stuff! I think it's good to remain positive and open to all possibilities, but there's going to be a lot of very disappointed people. Best to limit expectations and be realistic, then if something happens, great!

Never been a fan of this stance.

Let me clarify.  I have never been a fan of the supposed nobility of believing in something with nothing to go on.  Because at the same time, directly or indirectly, the people that won't sign on are somehow demonized.  That is faulty logic.

The reality is that while the guys patched it up, and the good feelings do seem genuine and not just a front...present day Guns N' Roses is simply a business arrangement.  These guys are recouping some of the literal fortune they left on the table all the years they were not on  good enough terms to so much as your together.

But does that automatically translate to a restoration of the same creative spirit that drvoe the band 25-20 years ago?

Not really.

Not really.

Axl may have lost his muse or his patience for the industry, and based on creative output, we shouldn't expect anything.  But then again, no one expected Axl and Slash to ever patch things up and take this band back on a world tour.  So that tells me anything is possible.

Really? I'm genuinely surprised by that.

Even so, I'd be willing to take any wager that we see no new album from GNR in 2019.

Axl could easily email Slash ,Duff etc songs and ideas to work on next year during down time or when they are on the road with their side project's  no problem for these guys to multitask both Axl and Slash worked with different bands during the reunion tour so they could easily throw an album together and have it out in late 2019 followed by a tour in 2020 that's of course if they wanna continue as GnR.

"throw an album together" isn't really how GNR have worked in the past though!

Okay so some people in the GNR camp thought it was a good idea to post on December 7th a 38 seconds video using the image of an American-flagged battleship under fire by enemy aircraft with the message of "Get ready Hawaii..." to advertise tomorrow's show.

Guns N' Roses @gunsnroses
Last stop on the #NotInThisLifetime Tour...

I doubt that only because of the symbolism in the last 4 seconds of the video plus, you know, history and all that.

I haven't seen the video because I couldn't see any link to it ???

But in any case I wouldn't over-analyse that. After all the show is started with guns firing. So just get ready for it and the battleship seems to be called USS Patience.
