Let's see...

The first two movies were great because they told stories. It wasn't just about special effects in my opinion.

I just rented this from redbox….

ZERO out of five stars.  Absolutely awful.

I thought the first 30-40 minutes started positively enough only for the film to progressively go downhill from there...

Overall, I think I definitely preferred Genisys to this film.

Iloved it.  It told the story that the franchise has always told - you can't run from destiny.  John Connor dies, and we learn that it's not John Connor who's important, but the figure who appears at the head of the human resistance.  John Connor has always been more like a title than a person.  This is the story they wanted to tell with the ending of Terminator: Salvation (original ending was that the robot was going to wear John Connor's face to inspire the humans).

Genesys wasn't as good in my opinion.  I'd put this maybe third or fourth in the franchise, but I haven't hated a single one.
