Balmy 80 degrees in the greenhouse.  Transplanted coleus and coneflowers.  Having a hard time getting lettuce to germinate at home.  Think they know how cold it got.  Nice and warm in the room but everything seemed to stop when the cold hit.

Pretty sure I'm going to have to cut my crepe myrtle down to the ground.  Here we grow them as a bush.  The cold weather frequently kills the tops.  I had just got mine up to 6 foot trees with mild winters the last couple of years.  I'm not going to bother pruning them until I know they lived.  Left canna bulbs in the ground too.  Probably lost those but I have a couple hundred I dug up.

So, Hard School is probably a song dating back to 1996, where Slash and Duff participating in working out the song. Main reason it's the first new song to pop up on their setlist?

7:20 into the clip:

Let's hope for at least a single this year.

If I get the opportunity to go back in time, I'm going straight to my high school job in 1995, and without a word punching myself in the teeth. When 1995 me gets off the floor, I will say "Now that I have your attention... you are still waiting for an album with Axl, Slash, and Duff in 2021 I suggest you find a hobby or a new band"... but hang in there with the New England Patriots, that will pay off.. oh and here's a sports almanac.

Every time I see that movie I wish I had the sports almanac.

Someone correct me if any of this is wrong. I've been to Texas multiple times, but I'm no expert.

As far as I know, it's a Republican run state. They have their own power grid, not part of the grid shared with its neighboring states. In other words, they wanna mind their own business (not be regulated by Federal laws/rules, which seems to be the dream of Republicans). Also, the power grid is largely privatized?

Who knew this would be a recipe for disaster?  Shocked People concerned with larger profit instead of investing in infrastructure to keep it working? No way!

And as usual, it's ordinary people who will suffer.

tim, you got power?  Frozen into social isolation here.

We lost power multiple times. We had 4 extended outages of 12+ hours starting Monday and finally ending Wednesday afternoon.

Take that next stimulus check and get a backup generator.  Or convince your favorite neighbor to get one.  hihi  Never hurts to have your own power supply especially with the changing weather we've been having.  I didn't think it even snowed in Texas.

No can do, i'm in an apartment and you can't use gas powered generators because you can't keep it far enough way from the buildings. The best we  could do it a battery powered one to use very small things.

Oh yeah, you're screwed.

Our covid numbers keep dropping.  We're back to July numbers.

Ocasio-Cortez raises $1 million for Texas relief in 4 hours

https://www.pix11.com/news/national-news/ocasio-cortez-raises-1-million-for-texas-relief-in-4-hours

While conservatives like Dinesh Dsouza are making comical excuses that Cruz couldn't actually do much to help his constituents, REAL LEADERS from other states are humiliating him by actually helping.

Think of it; when was the last time you heard of a single republican going out of their way to help a blue state that was struggling? The GOP has been fighting against state covid relief funding, self-admittedly because it would help blue states. Never mind that when CA had blackouts, conservatives were dancing on the graves of the people who died in order to score political points against the left. Disgusting.

And it is up to 2 million last i heard.
