IRISH BY BIRTH, CORK BY THE GRACE OF GOD

« on: April 17, 2006, 01:49:49 PM »

I was watching some of my GNR video i have and was watching Seven days in Rio, and other stuff. And i know izzy left for a number of reasons, like him being sober and the rest not so, and he couldnt stand AXLs crap anymore. But if he had stayed and put up with the bullshit with AXl,do you think that the UYI tour would have been the last tour. Would things be any different today if he had stayed in the band. We know he was a big driving force in the band and wrote a good few songs. So what do people think about this theory. Its all IFs and BUTS.

Possibly Yeah he seemed to have control of Axl for then Anybody and maybe had Izzy stayed axl's ego may not have  got even more Inflated then it already was and  the rest of the guy's could have put up with himeasier and they may therfore have been able to contain their addictive problems and the band could have stayed together and made more great albums ,all theroies of course But I would like to think That, that would have happened ok

i think GnR would still be (the originals - steven, i dont even call this thing with axl guns n roses anymore), izzy was a big driving force in the band, but it all comes down to ifs and buts, i mean hell, if axl wasnt so controlive, would slash still be there???

izzy only left because i think he couldn't reach axl anymore and he ddn't like the way they were going. he was axl's closest friend, both coming to indiana, and i think izzy tried to stay in the band but when he realised he can no longer speak to axl he left. i don't think it was an easy choice.
but, to play the game, i think that the break-up was going to happen sooner or later, izzy or no izzy.

The music would probably be slightly different but I don't think the time that has gone by between albums would've been any shorter.

Yeah i think eventually Axl's Ego would have got to all the guys and the band would have split it may justnot have happened as quickly as it did if izzy was still there ok

I think they would have still broken up around 95.. If anything, instead of TSI, they may have put out a new album consisting of originals instead.. but I think in the end they would have imploded sooner or later.

Izzy was still in GNR when the band decided to record TSI, but he left before they got the chance. TSI was supposed to be a 5 track EP, but somehow became an entire album...FYI peace

I think the only one that could handle Axl was Izzy, perhaps if he had stayed he could have talk to Axl or even had a fight to make him see the shit he was going into, but we'll never know that, also I think a new would've gone out in the 98 or 99.

Some things would have been different, I guess... considering how close they were and how important Izzy was for Axl...

I think they all would have stayed together longer and put out a couple more albums.  Izzy rocked.  Good songwriter.
