Music and Politic are 2 different things.
That should be the case but it isn't.  Also Civil War was very political.

dENIS, I did not come to this board to discuss politics.  I was mocking you for being a moron and bringing up this topic when the only basic rule of this forum is to stay on the topic of Guns N Roses.  You, however, have turned this into a political thread along with some others....

Can this thread now officially be locked and done away with?  I have no problem if people want to discuss whether or not the September 11, 2001 tragedy or other tragedies should be on the new album, but when some little finger pointing pussy decides to start taking potshots at the people of an ENTIRE country for their problems then something should be done.

BACK ON TOPIC.... no, I dont think Axl should have songs with political stances/meanings on the new album.  If he does, oh well, I am not going to cry about it.  Just seems like so many bands today all of a sudden have a voice on how our government is run and how things shoudl be handled (see Pearl Jam) and I am getting tired of it.

I`m agree with Jarmo. The point is that USA always start first war in all over the world. Not american people - american goverment. You get what u deserve. You`ll never know what is means war. I`m from the Balkans - thanks to your government we have a war once. About 9/11 i think this is inside job. Blame yourself.? Cry

That's an incredibly rude offensive comment, and an incredibly general one at that.  And that is exactly the reason why Axl, or any other musical artist in general needs to stay away from that highly sensitive topic.

First af all i never wanted to turn this topic in political discuss. Accept my apologies. You have your CNN, NBC and etc. etc etc and if you enjoy to believe what they say - believe it. But people not an animals or morons. We live here and we now what happens lately. I think if Axl want to talk about 9/11 he must talk. Bono from U2 once says - I ever believe that the only purpose of Rock n` Roll is to change the world! I`m agree with that. Thats all. ?peace PEACE!

Nope. Those are just the songs that were mentioned by eningeers and producers over the last few years of titles that they have worked out. So its just my assumption of what the track listing could be like.

Id like about 4 songs dealing with love relationships, 2 or 3 songs dealing with the old band but in a metaphorical way like Madagascar

there will be a couple political songs on there id say

and another couple about life and the struggles of living etc.

NO FUCKING 9/11 SONGS PLEASE, IM AN AMERICAN I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN NEW YORK AND I SAW THE TOWERS FALL FROM THE WINDOW OF MY US HISTORY CLASSROOM!!!! That was four fucking years ago, songs about tragedies are js stupid ploys put on by half assed musicians who js pretend to care while putting it on for the cameras to either make themselves look like caring compassionate individuals so maybe they'll sell a few more records, or they js put out a dedication album with other marginally talented artists which mean nothing and have absolutely no sincerety in them AT ALL. They are js meaningless pieces of recycled tripe put out to cash in on other ppls misery.
And Axl Rose is far too fucking talented and has way too much respect for himself and for his band to ever take part in the neverending quest to cash in on others misfortunes. Give him some credit, and to the person who began this thread I have no intentions on offending u. I know that u think that maybe making a song about 9-11 is a good idea, but believe me put some thought into it. It will make him look like the biggest douchebag in the music business. I can hear it now, AXL ROSE RETURNS AND GOES FROM ROCKSTAR TO LEE GREENWOOD IMATATOR (In case u dont know hes some dickhead who makes all patriotic songs, not that theres anything wrong with that but theres nothing right with it either). Patriotic music falls under the same category as christian rock. So put some thought into it, and ull see that after all these yrs all this New Guns N' Roses has to offer its loyal fans is a cheesy dedication track about something that happened in 2001. Come on, he might as well to a track about Clinton getting a blow job in the white house.

This post went on for way too long and Im rambling, so Im js gonna close it off here. ?peace

I always thought Axl missed a golden opportunity during the 2002 VMA's. Madagascar is a perfect parallism to Sep 11th and he could of used the song as a 1 year remeberance of the event.

In my opinion as long as the music is good and the lyrics are meaningfull it doesn't really matter what the songs are about, if Axl makes the lyrics non specific the songs can be about anything. Lyrics and songs can mean different things to different people?

I think the song Chinese Democracy will be as political as Axl gets on CD.  And I love that songs message.  So many artists complain about countries like the US, Britain, or Germany, etc.  How about a song that has to deal with REAL oppression.  And I applaud Axl for writing a song like CD.
