When all I've got is precious time

Now that we got a good version of IRS and part of Better, the question is going to be are these songs as good as stuff on AFD or the other albums. Well I think they are right up there and he is something to remember.  Listen to the demos of the AFD songs then the versions on AFD, they are much different and the AFD versions are fuller. The same will hold true for these songs. Dont forget on these tracks it seems like its a drum machine, the mix is still off and I dont even think the Synth, Dizzy and the orchastra has been added. So these songs still have a lot missing and they are already really good IMO.

Dave, I think comparing them is a pointless thing to do.

1) Same name WAY different band

2) Different time era's.

Just my 2 cents...

How about this:

IRS is a demo, we know that pretty much. ?It's too close to sounding like the "cruddy" (meaning sound quality, not song quality) version we heard last year.

So, how does IRS compare to the "demo" versions of the AFD and UYI songs we have demo versions of...

I'd say pretty fucking good. ?Amazingly fucking good, actually.

If this was the late 80s, it wouldn't stand up to the top rock acts of the time. But it's 2006, and modern rock is much worse than what these demos are. I'm happy with them, but it's in a different direction than AFD and UYI and can't really be compared.

IMO you can't compaire.  Well, vocal-wise you can..

But musically you can't.  2 different bands.   It's apples and oranges.

IRS and Better both are very good songs, they'll probably sound much better on the album surrounded by songs that complement them.  But you could never put them on AFD or UYI because they're different.

The new songs are so much more modern, but they still sound like Gn'R.  Axl has obviously taken the direction of CD very carefully, and IMO with songs like Maddy, CD and the Blues in the mix with IRS and Better we have nothing to worry about when expecting whether or not we're going to love CD or not, because everything we have is really good right now.

But let's leave the compairisons to the album Chinese Democracy vs. AFD and UYI, not song by song, because we'll get no where that way

I don't understand why everyone is afraid to compare these new songs with old GNR.  All you have to do is decide which stuff is better.  In my opinion the old stuff easily wins out.  But the new stuff is just that...NEW.  I find it very rare that something new comes out that I actually like, and l love this new stuff!

Way too premature, although I will say that I am way more impressed with the demo of TWAT than I was w/ the NR demo, if that counts for anything

"Better" is great, as far as departure goes, but it doesn't flow all that well.

AFD always had such a great rhythm.
