Fucked over in Philly - 12/06/02

« on: February 18, 2006, 12:54:55 AM »

Remember on 01/01/01 when we were all so excited to hear new Gn'R materal?  That was the greatest musical feeling I have until now.  It's so exciting to hear these new songs, it's what we've been waiting for, for so long now..

That being sad I kinda feel bad doing this to Axl.  I know he doesn't want these songs out, but at the same time I don't feel bad.  I was at Philly 2002, and I feel bad for myself and everyone else who got canceled on during that tour.  I know I lost a lot of faith in Gn'R that day, and there are many more who lost more faith than I did.  I can honestly say that hearing these 3 tracks brought my hopes back up to their highest point for Gn'R.

Axl really has to know how much these songs are going to touch our lives and how much we're going to love CD.

TWAT, IRS and what I've heard of Better are even better than I could have imagined.  I was skeptical about the new Gn'R in the past, but if they have songs that are better than these 3 (and the one's we've heard already) than I think that the new Gn'R has the ability to surpass the orignal Gn'R.  Wow, wow indeed..

It is exciting.

I think the Slash stuff is the most intriguing part.

There slasheletes are bashing these songs, especially on other boards and radiostations, but it is quality stuff.

I find that i'm far more powerful and effective when i can celebrate another's way, rather than to wish to own it.

If Gn'R fans don't wanna like this music on the sole reason that Slash isn't in the band then it's their loss.

TWAT, IRS, Better, CD, Maddagascar and the Blues are all UYI quality stuff, and if they don't want to admit it then sucks for them, because it's great music.

It sucks even more for them because I'm sure there's even better stuff out there. Cool ?This is going to be an amazing album.

Yeah, as much as I wanted to respect what I imagine Axl's wishes would be, I just couldn't help DLing the songs. They sound fucking fucking fucking awesome and I hope the band releases them to the world soon in official form.

I LOVE all of them and can't wait for CD.

I was at 01-01-01 show and the first Vegas 02 show. I've been going to this board for at least 7 years. This is the best GNR week I've had thus far. One a side note, can you please stop calling Madagasgar "Maddy"? That is the worst nickname for a song since "TB."

My bad. Trying to speak to the whole GNR world. Not topic specific. That being said, I couldn't be happier with the new stuff. Keep it coming. My apologies.
