Well I don't listen to the radio, primarily because it sucks and most of it is controlled by Clear Channel or similar conglomerates which can frankly go fuck themselves for telling me what I want to listen to. In general GNR does get a lot of airplay in Canada though, especially out west, but even around Toronto I hear them quite a bit on Q107 and 97.7. I think I might have heard them on 102.1 once in my life, but the Edge has pretty much turned to shit anyhow, they were always the alternative station, anti-anything prior to 1990, and after "alternative" died (i.e. no more Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc.), instead of embracing good shit they embraced whatever garbage was trendy at the given moment (they'll play emo shit over Tool, Pearl Jam, and Audioslave etc. at this point, despite those bands having more listeners and bigger shows).
Canada is more rock n' roll than the US no doubt so it doesn't surprise me that the shows might sell better here. I wonder how that statement is gonna go over
It's just a fact though. If you look at album sales, rock albums tend to chart higher in Canada and seem to debut higher more often as well.
