Dude...obviously Duff was the best 2nd singer in the old band!  He sang lead in a couple of the songs, so of course he's going to be the 2nd most important vocalist...

chris pittman....his vocals on Better are bang on. He gives Axl the extra high pitch help that is needed especially at the end of the song.

i never knew it was pittman doing that...

i can't wait to hear the mastered versions of everything--i can't really tell who's singing what right now.

Didn't you know? Pitman actually does all the vocals on Chinese Democracy.

Pitman forever.

It seems like Mr. Pittman is punchline.  I like it.

robin, by far.

tommy has a great voice, but he gets a bit carried away - just listen to nightrain from download  Undecided

and listen to robins backing vocals at KOHD at rock am ring, and madagascar, CD etc....amazing.

I liked Robin on Nightrain at Rio 3.   Smiley

They should totally let him sing lead on one song.

Maybe he'll sing Prostitute on the album....

Otherwise, i think Robin and Tommy are the most "important" back vocalists, as they do most of the backups. But Pitman also has a very good voice (if you listened to the ZAUM demos, you know what i'm talking about).

Axl Rose. Isn't it obvious? The most important singer in GnR is Sebastian Bach (in his own mind!)

Ron without a shadow of a doubt.

He has an incredible voice with tons of range.

Ron plays and SINGS Delilah (LIVE) -click- (recorded in a simple radio studio as part of an interview)

Ron was good ^^ He's awesome on some Bumblefoot-tracks, though I've only heard clips of them on his Myspace-page.

For my money the best voice i ever heard in a GnR album was Shannon's.  I love Axl and think he is a better frontman, but Shannon's voice was incredible, he could get so high and keep hsi voice so pure, yet he could also be as gritty as Axl.  Anyone who has listened to Blind Melon more than just No Rain can attest to that, and if you havent listened to Blind Melon you should because despite the neohippy image that made them popular they were actually very GnResque in many parts.  If Shannon doesnt count its Izzy, Izzy sung lead on songs too and Izzy has a very nice interesting voice.  In the new band it is probably tommy or chris, Robin was good in NIN, but I feel his voice doesnt blend well with Axl's.  I love Trent Reznor, but Axl's voice is far and away superior to Trent's.

Robin has an awesome raspy background vocals voice, which is pretty cool.

I also like the voice of whoever was singing backup in KOHD at RockAMRing who keeps going "Kockin on heavens dorrrrrrrrrrerrrrrrrrrr." Might have been pitman or Dizzy, 'cause they show the various guitarists during that section, and none are singing the whole time.

Ron's singing voice is ok, but I think it is a little dramatic, but I like the energy and comittment he puts into belting out the lyrics.
