Axl sure isn't the best singer out there, but when it comes to creativity and effeciency he's the best the world has ever seen. I just hope more people will realise that in the future.

I hope YOU will realize that Axl is the BEST singer not only, "out there", but E-V-E-R !!!!!!!

Good post.

Good post.

He is the best singer ever, but he's not Freddie or George Michael......if you catch my drift.

Axl > All IMO

I have never experienced chills like I do when I hear Axl's voice, whether it be on the old songs or the new.
There is no-one like him!

Without Axl there is no GNR. Some of you may think this is stupid or obnoxious but without the voice VR isn't GNR, so this supports my theory (a tiny bit)

If the original line-up re-formed minus Axl it still wouldn't be GNR!

Some people never get it and keep posting the same bullshit threads over and over again.Axl is a great singer, but if it wouldn't have been for Izzy,Slash,Duff and Steven he would be a nobody.I'm just as much of a fan of the new band as anyone else, but shit like this has got to stop.

I agree with the original poster.? If you ask me, GNR was always Axl's vision.? And while I don't think it would be terribly difficult to find other guys who can play their instruments as well as or better than Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, <insert name of former GNR member here>, I think you would be hard-pressed to find someone who can sing and/or command a stage like Axl.? I welcome whoever Axl chooses to work with, and I think the group of people he is working with now not only do justice to the GNR name, they are GNR, at least to this fan.

And on a side note, all music sounds better when you're smoking some amazing shit.? ?smoking

Here is a statement to end all this bullshit Axl nutswinging:

IF Axl was in Poison instead of GNR, would anyone give a shit about him.............

The band as a collective unit was great

Axl is a great frontman but when he has a legendary timeless song singing accapella or a solo piano and voice, u can then say he WAS GNR

thats bullshit'

GNR's music is as famous as Axl's vocals.

What do u hear at sporting events?

Do u hear WTTJ or do u hear the opening of the song?  To me it seems the song always cuts off right before the vocals even start so............

GNR are a band where the riffs and solos are as legendary as any vocal melody or lyric.

So credit has to be given where it is due.

Slash's solos give me chills just as much as Axl's vocals do

I have yet to get chills from a NEw GNR solo........... but I hope and am giving them every chance to do so.

To me, a band is only as good as the sum of its parts.

I find the GNR of today just as good, if not better, than the GNR I fell in love with when I was in high school.  (AFD came out when I was in high school.)

Axl is the one thing that ties it all together.

Past, present, or future -- without Axl, there would be no GNR.

This is my opinion.  You can call it "bullshit nutswinging" if you want; I don't care.  But I do hope that you find something in the "new" GNR that gives you chills.  I guess it's a little easier for me because the chills I got then and the chills I get now are mainly from Axl's vocals.

Once again, U are giving all the credit to Axl with the new band as well.

They are still writing the music, they are still giving Axl the canvas to paint on lyrically and vocally.

I think people need to stop stripping the accomplishments away from the well deserving musicians that help Axl achieve his vision.

Its not like the guy is Prince playing every instrument and writing every part.

Axl is a great vocalist who needs help from other skilled people to write great songs.

He doesnt do the shit alone therefore he shouldnt get all the praise.  every member in the band past or present is important.

Oh, I totally agree with you on these points...

[...]they are still giving Axl the canvas to paint on lyrically and vocally.

Axl is a great vocalist who needs help from other skilled people to write great songs.

...That is why I said, "A band is only as good as the sum of its parts."

I just like the part that is Axl the best.? ?yes

Apparently others who have posted to this thread do, too.

(For the record, I paid little mind to GNR's 2002 "comeback" because I didn't like the sum of the band's parts at that time.? For whatever reasons, I like it now, though -- A LOT!)
