Right now there are at least a couple of shows that are running 40% off sales on selected tickets, provided you enter a promotional code.  Is it OK to post the codes? Or is that a no-no like presale passwords?

Any answer on whether these codes can be posted or not?  I noticed the threads on lower ticket prices being deleted,  I know a couple of board members got a couple of extra people to go to a show because of the cheaper prices, so if we can get even a few more people to see GNR that would be worthwhile.

I guess the codes aren't public knowledge?

Aren't they usually just meant for people who are signed up for mailing lists etc.?

Some of them are, if the person is creative in finding them. I was not on a mailing list and I found one of the codes directly on the ticketmaster website, and I got two more people to go to the show with us as a result. So a person could find them on their own.  I just did not want to get banned for posting the code when I am not supposed to, hence the question.

In that case, I think people should go find the codes on their own...

Why in the world would you think a management monitored board would want to publicize that they have reduced ticket prices and where to find the passwords to get the cheap tickets? That is only taking money out of the bands pocket, because no one in their right mind would pay $75 for a ticket that they can now have for $20. Not to mention publicizing it leaves a sour taste in the mouths of those who payed full bore back in October under a much different set of circumstances and assumptions.

I am surprised you haven't learned better by now Wink

I am not aware of being able to get a $75 ticket for $20. I know you can get a $75 ticket for $47.50, and a $37 ticket for $18/$20.  The prices are being reduced to get more people to buy tickets, with the assumption that $47.50 is better than the ticket not being sold at all, so why not tell more people?  I realize the "management monitored" aspect of this board, which is why I asked the question to begin with. And yes, the fact people bought tickets for more than other people did, right, wrong, or indifferent, causes some negativity and speculation on how well the shows are selling, which is why I think it is a taboo subject and furthermore why I asked whether the codes could be posted.

It doesn't hurt to ask! The more people at shows the better!
