« on: October 29, 2007, 01:52:33 AM »

I was at a ska show in NYC tonight and I got invited to FUSE TV tomorrow to talk about my excitement for Chinese Democracy.

I'll repost more tomorrow after I tape the interview. They asked me to wear a GN'R shirt.
I'm going with my 2002 Chinese Democracy bullet/star shirt to show support for newer era Guns.

Why is FUSE doing a segment on Chinese Democracy? Very interesting.

very interesting indeed, perhaps you could ask someone there, some camera guy or something?

Camera guy probably won't know - see if you can ask whoever seems to be in charge.

well this is a very cool shocker indeed, FUSE only does music thats out now and is "cool" by poser standards.

Do you happen to know what time this airs? peace

EDIT:
if i may make a sujestion, ware a shirt thats NOT so old like don't ware the one from 2002, if you have one from 2006 or a newer one ware that. Cause if you ware an older shirt on a network such as that, people that are watching that aren't really fans will say, "why is he talking about something now when his shirt says 2002?"

just a sujestion, take it for what its worth peace

Hopefully it's something good and not just a piece putting us all down for still being interested.

Isn't it too old for a tv that only does what's "cool" now by any standard?

haha.. 2002 tour shirt is fine. The person that interviewed me was wearing a 2006 shirt.

We did the interview on the street outside of Madison Square Garden. Fitting since thats where I finally saw GN'R live for the first time after being a fan for 10 years.

No inside info of course.. but thats not a surprise.

Props to Fuse for taking an intrest in GN'R and letting me express my love for the new songs and new band members.

Not sure when this will air.. probably mid november. I guess check the Fuse site for listings in a few weeks.

fun fun fun

fun fun fun

the interviewer is also a guns fan?
so it was the right shirt after all. two different shirts are better.
I hope I can see it online when aired. Tongue

It's probably just some thing on GNR in general, not just Chinese Democracy (Chinese Democracy doesn't quite start now  Wink)

I hope they're not calling it "talking metal" - such an unimaginative name.  With all the awesomeness that is heavy metal thats the best they could come up with?  Total Snoozer.

I also know that Fuse TV are doing a segment on the making of the Welcome to the Jungle video.  Not sure exactly when it will be finished or going to be aired - could be a month or two still.

I believe they interviewed Nigel Dick (he was the guy that did all of GN'R's early videos), they also interviewed Adler, Tom Zutaut, Alan Niven plus a few other people.

Looks like Sebastians guitarist Metal Mike wrote the theme song to the show

Guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak, who is known for his work with HALFORD, SEBASTIAN BACH, TESTAMENT and his own outfit PAINMUSEUM, has scored and recorded the music theme for the "Talking Metal on Fuse" show, which is set to debut Friday, November 9 at 12:30 a.m. ET on Fuse.

"Talking Metal on Fuse", a one-hour pilot that brings the number-one heavy metal/hard rock podcast on iTunes to television. Hosted by Mark Strigl and John Ostronomy ? the ultimate metal geeks and hard rock aficionados ? the show provides a unique perspective and insider's view into the world of metal and hard rock music.

Asked about his involvement, Mike commented, "I have been asked by John, Mark and Fuse if I was interested in delivering a kick-ass opening theme for the show.

"I have known John and Mark from their 'Talking Metal' podcast for some time and they always struck me as really great guys, full of knowledge and excitement for metal. And because of that, and because it felt like a fun exciting thing to do, I was more than happy to do just go ahead and record something ripping for them that I feel is worthy of the show.

"I do believe that there will be some very, very exciting official news about this theme song coming in just a couple of days ? so stay tuned please!

"I recorded the piece right here at my own House Of Metal Studios, a private studio that I own and use for writing and recording metal. I have recorded many things here to date, including several solos for the HALFORD 'Crucible' album, some vocals and solos for PAINMUSEUM, my guest appearance for DREAM EVIL's 'Book Of Heavy Metal' record and most of the solos for Sebastian's 'Angel Down' album. The latter recorded in only 8 hours, to be exact, just enough time to drop off the FedEx to producer Roy Z and jump on the plane to Japan to play with KISS. Talk about timing.

"But, returning to the show, yeah, I do feel that 'Talking Metal on Fuse' will have a great future and I am very, very honored to be a part of it. You will additionally see me in the show as well playing riffs, adding my two cents and creating havoc. Did I mention the pretty girls that were our in-studio guests?

"It was a good night of metal. Those guys have my full support!"
