R n' F'n Roller

« on: June 10, 2004, 02:20:08 PM »

It seems that everyone's sided with VR...a news article about GN'R was posted on the site of another forum I visit and the typical comment was:

"Liek, who carez, Axl is nufink wivout Slash innit... VR rox, Axl sux"

 Roll Eyes

I posted back by stating that I preferred the new GN'R material...at least there was some thought in the lyrics and guitars  hihi

Has anyone else noticed this?

Well it obviously have to be like this now. VR got their stuff out and Axl has yet to prove his point. That's the basic difference right?

When Axl get the CD out, it will be very interesting to see how the general public compares the CD's.

And to say Axl is nothing without Slash is really a lame comment, since they got nothing musical to back it up with and I take it they didnt compare it in different issues?

Fuck them!!!!!!!

People think they can make judgement on songs by fuckin live performances and fuckin 1 minute clips of songs. They are fuckin idiots. Especially fuckin WAAF, setting up a fuckin thing to bash Axl just so they can promote Velvet Revolver, fuck that shit. I guarantee that they only took the negative calls and screwed the people who actually liked the songs. How can u make a judgement on The Blues by listening to the 1st fuckin minute, Axl just starts singing by the 1st minute. And with Madagascar, it wasn't even the whole song. And people even liked it but WAAF didnt fuckin care just cause they have some fuckin grudge against Axl. Fuck them, they fuckin suck fat fuckin ass and huge fuckin cock.

Sorry, I'm just really pissed about this whole situation. I emailed that guy from WAAF who played the songs and later was bashing Axl. I told him off and let some steam off so now I'm feeling much better.

He'll never be as popular as VR aong the majority of the press.

After all, he's the one left in GN'R, in other words the bad guy.  Roll Eyes

I was listening to "KOHD" today on  WYSP; after the song was over, the DJ said "GNR...We got Velvet Revolver coming up next, which is basically GNR without the pain in the ass of having Axl as a singer."  Theres definitely a negative connotation there.

He'll never be as popular as VR aong the majority of the press.

Thats not the only reason hes looked at as the bad guy...That certainly contributes to the negativity, but cancelling and no-showing concerts, not releasing anything, etc. doesnt help things.

Exactly! No matter what happens, Axl will be shit on by the press, music fans, etc. His refusal to talk with the press really since 1996 was his own undoing...the media are whores...buddy up with them, like VR has, and you are called the second coming of christ, ignore them, and you're villified. After buying Contraband and listening to it in full, I'm glad that we have 2 quality bands now, and I refuse to participate in the overall a GNR vs. VR debate anymore. I win either way!

How can you say VR buddied up to the press? Scott has had run ins with several different papers now. He's practically finished doing press interviews. Every fucking article starts with the same jaded old crap about 'junkies' and 'has beens' and 'Axls last album' etc. All that VR did is release their album and it just so happens some of the press actually like it. That, as far as I can see, is the only positivity they get. I have met and spent a night drinking with Slash before and he is a great guy so i suppose the press guys warm to him somewhat too.
Don't imagine for one second that Axl and his new gang will not be courting the press when their product is finally ready. It's all about units at this stage and they must dance with the devil (ie the media) until the new band is under way on its own steam.
In fairness, it wouldn't have killed Axl to speak to his decent ordinary fans who shelled out their hard earned cash to see him in Philly etc. Also the proliferation of bodyguards around him gives the impression of wanting to be isolated from fans, press etc. This perceived rejection of people, even those who root for him can only generate bad feelings. He seems like a smart guy but God, he could play this one so much better.
peace,
Rubie.

Over the years what has there been to talk about regarding gnr? absolutely nothing but axls braids, the aborted tour, and no album yet. So what do you expect?

When the material comes out and it is good all of that will change. Thats the funny thing. That is why I could care less what anyone says right now. When they give there opinion on the material based on the material and nothing else, good or bad, is when I will take dj's,journalists, reviews, etc seriously./..till then they can have their fun now and jump on that bash gnr bandwagon.

It doesnt bother gnr so why should it bother you....

If the material puts everyone in thier place gnr will have the last laugh. And even then people will unfairly abuse them. But thats ok. Some people love to hate.

Half these people know jack shit baout gnr and the whole situation. They still think Slash and everyone left the band because Axl was and is on a techno craze. They still think Axl is that selfish punk from the old era. They still think Axl is trying to fit in with the braids and jerseys....let them think all that.

Man o man i cant wait till the music fuks these people up. Im gonna laugh my ass off......your gonna find out fo yo selves mothafuckers{eventually Grin}

Axl can release an album 100 times beter than Contraband (which will probably happen) and will still be considered the bad guy. Most DJ's and journalists don't have the balls or the individuality to say something constructive. Nowadays, if you make fun of Axl Rose, you are automatically considered funny, cuz it seems like you are doing something righteous.

Same with Michael Jackson...he may be guilty he may not - but every poser out there, every dumb witted DJ and clueless writer somehow feels it is their right to take their swing at the guy.  Shut up, you're not funny, you're not doing anything righteous like you may believe, and actually try to become something- as opposed to being the puppet who makes a living analyzing others' private lives.

I'll concede that Scott has acted like a punk to the press, but Slash and Duff certainly haven't seemed to mind talking...aslo, in a general media sense VR has buddied with strictly entertainment media ( radio, Vh1). Cases in point: "VR Makes A Video," "The Day the Music Died..." They gave access to the media during this whole project, way before Scott was even involved, and by doing so garnered more favorbality with the startstruck DJ's and program directors out there.
