GNR Mentions in Blender Mag

- Slash has a picture with a fan in the fan section, also in the pic is Bach.
- They have a section called "Greatest Disses Ever" or something and they gang up on Axl. Slash has his comment where he says he wishes he would just release it so he could see what the big deal was all about. Kurt Cobain has his quote about how GnR makes shit music and he can't believe they are popular and there was one I had never seen before:
"If I was as ugly as Axl, I'd be pissed off about camera's going off in my face too!" - Ted Nugent
- Buckethead made the B-List Hall of Fame. They say this, "In any band other than GnR, Buckethead would have looked ridiculous. Next to the startling, polished faced face and Predator dreadlocks of beefy singer Axl Rose, however, the enigmatic top-string torturer seemed rather ordinary." Insert Axl calling him erratic here.
- In the Motley Crue article, Vince Neil takes a stab. "I didnt want the plastic surgery to make me look like Axl Rose - your face pulled up like this," he says. He's still wrenching his face upward to illustrate an inferior surgery outcome - an Axl-alike zombie...

I love get in the ring... and a song telling all the critics to fuck off... well i wouldnt mind they give axl so much shit... what they need to do is fuck off... but the best answer axl could give all his critics is to release Chinese Democracy and cause im sure cd is gonna be so fuckin good, have it sell like hot cakes and go multiplatinum and totally bury velvet revolver in the process (and no im not tryin to turn this into a Velvet revolver versus Axl thing)

I'm don't imagine I'm one of those that makes it a habit of coming to Axl's defense every time something negative is said about him (he's a big boy and can take care of himself) but I think I'll make an exception here.
As far as Cobain goes, nothing need be said.? His music compared to Axl's is evidence enough that he should have kept his mouth shut about GN'R during that interview.
While I get a kick out of Nugent (nobody can ever blame him of being a conformist), I don't think he's one to open his mouth about people's looks.? Besides, while I'm sure Ted has had plenty of women, no doubt his numbers are far eclipsed by Axl's.
And finally, aaahh yes, ol' Vince.? I'm a huge fan of the Crue but this guy's utter inabilitity to let his personal grudge for Axl go is just pathetic.? He just comes off as bitter and full of false-bravado.? I'd imagine the time Axl has given over the past 15 years to thinking about Vince Neil amounts to about .14 seconds.

Okay Ehem where do I start.....::::::Clears Throat:::::
Slash: Love the dude to death he's one of the greatest but if it was up to him then Axl,Duff,Izzy,Steven and Himself would still be doing gigs at dive bars in west hollywood and probably waste the crumbs they made from those gigs :::::Slash voice:::: Getting strung out maaaan. So he should be kissing Axl's ass for the fact that he was in the position to even start Velvet Revolver.
NUGENT: Aaah Americas favorite Shit kicker. Okay He needs to stick to what he knows, Staying up in buttfuck Idaho and shooting at Animals from afar (NO IM NOT AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST). Hes js pissed because his days of running around in a Loincloth like George of the fucking Jungle are over
Kurt Cobain: God rest his soul.Im a Nirvana fan but lets call a spade a spade, vocally Axl could fart a song out better than this whiney prick can sing one. On Kurt best day he probably couldnt outsing Axl at the fucking 2002 VMA's and he sure as fuck couldnt outwrite him.
Vince Niel: Lead singer of a hugely successful band gets overshadowed by his drummer and winds up on VH1's The Surreal Life (In the first season when the show wasnt shit to boot) Hmm whats wrong with this picture? Now hes playing small gigs, lost his vocal ability while even Slash is clamoring for Chinese Democracy to be released. (Even though Ill admit I cant for the life of me figure out why Axl would want Plastic surgery) It doesnt make Vince look any better by following in the same route. Especially since he should be using that money to buy the final OD fix that'll get him a nice In remembrance in the next Issue of blender, At least while hes still got VH1 or.....Anyone for that matter even paying any attention to him at all because God knows Axl isnt.
By the way with the exception of Nugent I like and admire each of the artists listed above, But I had to vent my frustrations on the tiresome Axl sucks trend cause its getting old

I was flipping through the new issue of Blender magazine today "Mariah Carey on the cover" and the mag has a motley crue interview
Vince talked about his remaking of vince neil show and his plastic surgery and he said how he didnt want the plastic to be overdone like axl rose's with the skin all tight and lifted up, then it said something to the fact of axl lookin like a zombie
it had other disses on axl also
ted nugent said if he was as ugly as axl he'd get pissed if someone pointed a camera in his face also.
it had the Kurt Cobain diss where he called gnr talentless and crap music etc etc

Did you also see in the Blender Magazine where Slash said he wishes Axl would hurry and release CD so he could see why Axl took something so cool and systematically destroyed it?

"Blender" is a the poster child for the theory that magazines are the worst sort of intellectual garbage around. Magazine articles are too short to present enough information to make one informed, but too long to make that obvious.
And mag articles are designed to influence your opinion, to modify how you feel about things, not to share hard data.
Magazines are the hack writer's last refuge. "Blender" and "Rolling Stones" and all magazines I can think of are just garbage. And they aren't even printed on newspaper, so you can't use them for anything useful, like cleaning up a spill, when your finished!
The only thing magazines may have a place for are as containment vehicles for pictures and posters of stars, but that is all they should be. The articles and 'editorials' are just pollution.

Actually, I think
Blender
is a pretty good music magazine. It sticks to music, it writes about both mainstream and indie acts, as well as classic bands. It's pretty thick. And it's got like a hundred music reviews in every issue. Compare that with
Rolling Stone
, where these days the people on the cover usually aren't even musicians. WTF? The
Blender
cover girls may be there mainly for T&A, but at least they're actually musicians too.

That quote sums up exactly how I feel about Axl on a bad day.

It wasn't just Axl that made the band popular. It was a communal effort. You can't just give Axl credit for taking the band to the top. Let's just compare Guns N' Roses with Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy, and Guns N' Roses with just Axl. The former was the most popular rock band on Earth that toured constantly, changed rock music, and put out albums every few years. The latter is a myth, a stumbling outfit stalled by creative indecision. Face it - Axl needs the original band as much as the original band needed him.

You sure hit the nail on the head with that one. Nirvana's got a lot of good songs, but their lyrics often suck and they have a LOT of tuneless, feedback-drenched screaming filler. So Kurt Cobain calling Guns N' Roses untalented is like David calling Goliath puny.

?I just wish the fucker would get the fuckin? record out so I could see why he took something so cool and systematically destroyed it.?
how can he be so sure the album will suck ? what happened to the old slash who said something like "Whatever Axl puts out I know it will be great" (it was something along the lines I can't remember). He's such a hypocrite.
ted nugent is a no talent redneck, vince neil will be remembered as a no talent drunk moron who killed Razzle and the rest of those bashers won't be remembered at all. Looks like they all jumped in the "lets hate axl" wagon...

I'm seriously growing tired of these slash potshots. I guess the guy is bitter and hasn't moved on despite the success of his new band. As usual Axl is silent; I expect that each one of these childish, attention seeking vituperations will be answered in the future. Once again, it's the fans who suffer as a result. Slash needs to learn the words, No comment. Neil and Nugent are idiots btw.

Guys,
these quotes from Slash have become cut up by people to suit their own agenda.
I watched the Slash & VR interview on Much Music last week from a garden in London and Slash said that whatever Axl will put out will be 'awesome'., that he wishes him the best and that GNR is over for him 10 years ago and he doesn't think about it anymore
unless asked.
Everybody dumps on one side or the other in this argument. Axls silence does not mean he's taking the high ground as we've seen his rants against former members on stage and with Kurt Loader.
None of us were there, you don't know what went on. Slash is entitled to feel pissed with Axl just as much as Axl seems to be still pissed with him. Slash is right to some extent in what he says, they were a very cool band in their day, they wrote AFD for Gods sake!! If you're going to say that the lastest incarnation of the band proves Slash to be a fool, I say more fool you. Hot fucking air, a couple of tepid tunes over the past 3 years and no comment to fans despite the huge feeling among us all that even a brief press statement would suffice.
Izzy left GNR just as much because of Slash and Duff as he did over Axl. Yet today, 3 of the five original members still work together which indicates a level of evolution in personalities, healing and peace making regarding issues in the past. It doesn't seem to be in Axls makeup to take that road, new age healing/past life regression obsessions or not.
Each man feels they have their version of what went on. Both men should be left alone on the issue.
peace,
Intercourse.
