Hey everybody.
I'm gonna buy a Les Paul sometime soon, and i need some help. Whats the difference between a Les Paul and a Harley Benton? They look the fucking same to me.
Also, should i get black or brown or redish orange (cant remember the correct name Embarrassed))
And is 415 euros a good deal for a Les Paul, i presume it is.

Really appriceate

415 euros is very good for a Les Paul, but personally I would go for a Ephiphone copy (look the same) and they're cheaper

GO FOR BLACK (THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE WITH REDDISH-ORANGE, WITH BLACK YOU'LL STAND OUT OF THE CROWD)

is this a real Gibson you're talking about? if it is, then by all means get it!
it will more than probably be a helluva lot better than any new Epiphone in that price range!
and i would definately go for brown, is it sunburst you mean? there are just as many people with black Les Pauls these days as there are with sunburst!
also, that a guitar looks good doesn't necessary mean it's a good guitar! ok

It's So Easy!

« Reply #12 on: May 26, 2005, 12:09:11 AM »

I suggest getting a real Gibson Les Paul. Play a lot of them first. Just because it says Les Paul on the headstock doesn't mean it's a good guitar. A good guitar will sound full and balanced unplugged. Make sure there isn't a lot of buzzing or fretting out. Test the entire fretboard, make sure it plays well in upper fret area as well as by the nut. If it passes those tests, then plug it in to see if the electronics are in good working order.

Depends on your budget and the reason for purchasing it.

A Les Paul sounds like a Les Paul. Something that looks like a Les Paul is only a copy. If you want to try to mimic Slash's sound, get a real, high end, Les Paul (the Slash model) and a Marshall Amp.
If you just like the look of the guitar you could go for the Epiphone or Harley Benton or whatever.

Obviously the signiture Slash Gibson Les Paul is way more expensive than a cheap ass entry level epiphone guitar.

Like I said depends on your budget and what you want to use it for.
