What an oppertunity. I still wonder if this is some sort of dream....zzzzzz

Yeah this is a great oppertunity. They might not do any more small venues after this again.?

Maybe. That's too bad. They should still do smaller venues from time to time to shake things up.

It will probably be packed in the front.  That is just how it is.  I was at concerts where I wasn't even touching the ground at times because I was getting crushed. heh  I hope it isn't like that but it probably will.

I am also hoping the floor is not a mess, but people trying to be respectful and enjoy the experience.  I too want it to be electric but it never needs to get violent IMO

I am hoping for no moshing, but you can never be 100% on such things, so I grabbed 1st mezz.  I was front row for U2 @ msg and when the crowd surged, it was a bit rough.  I held the rail and locked my arms to keep from being crushed, kept the girlfriend in front of me.  The crowd was excited, but respectful.  Regardless of the musical differences, I am hoping to see similar behavior at GnR.

A girls section for the floor though? Do you have any idea how many guys would be dying to get in there?  Oooh, baby...  Cool

Axl would probably get pissed off if he saw people moshing and getting pushed around. I have a clip of him going off on the crowd during the UYI tour when they were throwing fire. He said something along the lines of "I"m not here for anybody to get hurt." Not sure if that's the kind of mood they want for their first video, if they're even filming it there.

Ideally, since I have floor  Grin, it would be about a third of capacity for each section (MEzz1, Mezz2, and Floor)..but I'm assuming that the Mezz sections will hold slightly less....maybe a little over 500 each..leaving about 2,000 for the floor. Anyone who's been to a concert at the Hammerstein before have a good gauge of this? If you were there before for ECW or another event besides a concert it might be hard to tell since the set up would be fairly different.

I was at Hammerstein for 311...the Mezz sections have chairs and probably sit about 400-500 people in each section. The floor is big.

GN'R crowds have never been that big of moshers anyway. I have been worried about this also. Cause I go to a show to watch the band, not to worry about being hit everywhere. I think the Tacoma show was general admission in 2002. Thats what it looks like from the MTV Report, and during the heaviest part of Paradise City they werent moshing or anything, just jumping up and down with their hands in the air. So I'm sure there will be some movement and stuff, but I dont think there will be any moshing.

I just don't see someone moshing to Madagascar or November Rain.  Granted, WTTJ and PC will be played as well, but that it more like head banging than beating the shit out of each other (something I never understood why people would want to do).  I'm sure it will be intense though and very rough up front.  Everyone wants to be up front, so you better be prepared to stand your ground.  When I saw VR in Pittsburgh it was nuts once you got up front, I felt I was being crushed to death and had a hard time breathing for alot of it.  I expect this to be the same if not worse.

If theres gonan be moshing it will be somewhere towards the back of the floor. The closer you get the better off you are. just dont fall and get crushed

i was at a VR concert at roseland ballroom and was on the rail and it wasnt too bad. At times you can feel the pressure but it wasnt so bad. There was only 1 or 2 times where i thought about leaving. I expect it to be a lil more hectic when people see Axl but it shouldnt be too bad. Im gonna tryit for the 12th and see how it goes....

I was at that show. That was hands down the best show I've ever been to to in my life...they kicked so much ass. btw, May 12th will be my first guns show, so it could beat out velvet revolver.

best part of that night? Living Things getting booed by the crowd and trying to incite fights

i dont go to many concerts but from what ive seen most of the moshing tends to take place in the back.
The gnr crowd is not much of the mosh type so if it happens it will be towards the back.

The only downfall of being in the front is the constant pressure from the people behind u. If you dont mind people literally on you then you should be fine. Im gonna try to be on the rail so my problem will be the rail. my forearms will have to be the buffer.

The Vr concert was great from that spot. I cant imagine how its gonna be seeing Axl and the band a few feet from me. That will numb any pain.

the moshing is usually 4-5 rows back. The first 3 rows you're getting crushed, elbowed and kicked but don't expect much of at these shows since a lot of diehards will be there

Rules for the GNR Hammerstein concerts:

1. No Moshing
2. No cameras and videotaping because if you are the guy that upsets Axl and if he leaves early because of you, you're probably going to die

and

3. Chant "Guns and Roses" louder than Bullet for my Valentine can play their instruments...this will force that crappy band off the stage and make more time for GNR smoking

Actually, it will more than likely just ensure that we wait just as long...with NOTHING to look at on stage.

I doubt it will goad Axl into going on stage any earlier...it'll just leave us all sitting (or standing) around with nothing to do.

Again, BFMV is decent background noise to settle into, and not annoying enough (like CKY was) to distract you from conversing with your "neighbors" or friends.  And they're better than the damn PA system playing canned crap on a cracker.

Take it from someone who has seen this band live...they suck. Furthermore, the PA is a great alternative to seeing Bullet for My Valentine.

let's take a poll....watch Bullet for My Valentine on stage...or have the sound guy BLAST maybe some Stone Temple Pilots out the PA
