God no - its exceptionally bad. But Silkworms is even worse.

Of all the newies, well...

Madagascar - Bad, just bad. All those samples and shit, whats the point.
IRS - Pretty ok
CITR - Be good if it wasnt GNR. (which technically, of course, it isnt). Elton is that you?
TWAT - Great (see I'm not all biased)
Better - Average at best.
Riyadh - Horrendously bad
Silkworms - Appallingly bad
Chinese Democracy - Bad - especially the opening 'riff'. Kurt Cobain we hardly knew thee.
The Blues - See Catcher in the Rye.
Oh my God - Bad.

Judging from those results, I wonder why I still get excited about this alleged album.

Maybe I should give up with 'Guns' - after Hammersmith I walked away with the feeling I had been cheated immensely.

As for new songs being played at gigs - all I can say is there was a lot of people going to the bar/toilet when any newies were played at Hammersmith. And the general consensus around me was 'What the fuck is this shit'. Sad but true people.

I think he meant on the front page where Jarmo always has a poll. I doubt that ever happens. Its usually something current on the poll.

That is what people were saying when Nov Rain was first played live before UYI came  out, but we all know how that turned out. No one for any band is into new songs before the album is released because they dont know the new songs.

Riyadh and the Beduains will porobably be most remembered for being the most difficult GnR song to spell. To be fair, all the bootlegs so far have been very poor so its hard to judge but I don't like the vocals, apart the Immigrant Songesque screaming. So its a no from me. Down there with Silkworms and Oh My God.

No.  It's fragments of thoughts put together as a whole that only succeeds in having the feeling of an unfinished idea being rushed and brought to the band for the sake of having something new to play live.  That's not to say it could not become a great song...it just isn't as it is.

Musically, it's killer - Lots of great ideas and cool sounding parts in there, especially the "swirling" intro.

Lyrically, however, it needs a lot of work - The words and the structure of the lyrics don't fit the music.

The song has a ton of potential though, so we'll see how it turns out if it shows up on any of the new albums.
