Yes, i would have thought so, as long as the bag is empty at the 1st check point, no camera's taping equipment etc..

I don't know about anywhere else, but in the UK there is no problem with backpacks. Just be prepared to have it searched!
There's usually cloakrooms as well, so after buying my merch I usually shove it all in the bag and put it in the cloakroom to save the hassle of carrying it. Of course, the cloakrooms won't be free! Damn companies trying to make money.

Sometimes they give you bags when you buy merch... guess its up to the people at the stands. ?Probably couldn't hurt to ask them or go ask someone selling food, surely a plastic bag isn't too big of a deal.

They let women carry in purses, so why wouldn't they let you walk in a bag after it was properly checked by security? ?

Or better yet, take something like a pillow case or a Potato sack! ? Grin It would be super easy to check, lightweight, and could be rolled up, discarded, or taken away without a major hassel.

I wish I thought of that. The one time I bought a poster from a show was a disaster!

I would definately check with the venue first. I work security at sporting events/concerts and backpacks are never allowed.

Usually they let you take a bag with you but of course they want to check it first.. so don't try to take any guns or bombs inside the arena ok But hey, take a video camera! Just hide it well.

Security seems much, much harsher in the States than in most of Europe - I would worry about bringing a backpack, especially in a standing section of a show, it probably wouldn't last ten minutes.

How about coming in a shitty t-shirt you don't want anymore (if you're buying multiple shirts, get any friends that are coming to do the same), then buy the shirts you want, change into them in the bathroom, ditch the ones you were wearing and then you've just the posters and your friends pit stains to worry about.  peace

A bought a ton of merch, and they gave me some pretty small bags. I had to go to my seat, re-fold everything, and 'make it fit'.

After I did that, I was good. But for say someone, that's gonna be on the floor, you might want to try to bring a back pack in, if they'll let you, and you plan on buying alot of merch.
