u lot really make me laugh, regardless of who is higher than axl, think about it this way, out of the millions of singers in the history of music, they made a list of the best and axl made the cut. that to me is great he still is recognised after all this time and look at some of the greats in that list.

we know man and we are but we're jsut pissed that some of the shittiest singers made that list and beet Axl. I'm not saying that Axl is the best but he is way better than Kurt Cobain. If that fool made it in the top ten i'd really hate to see who else beet him.

Well, I bet if they had made it like "Top 100 Rock N' Roll Singers" or whatever we'd be much more pleased with the results.

Axl and about 75 of the singers on this list dont even belong in a list title "Greatest Singers."  You kidding me?  Just in rock alone do you really think you could put Axl or Kurt above Mike Patton, Geoff Tate or Tim Christensen when it comes to singing. Like just singing.  Im not talking about frontmen or stage presnce, lyrics or anythign else, but pure singing.  Fact is almost all Opera singers are going to be better than anyone on this list.  Listen to Natalie Dessay and tell me that she couldnt hit any note that these people sing, with ease.  Then even lesser known singers like Beth Hart, who play kinda bluesy rock could blow away any of these people.  This list should obviously be called the most popular singers of the last 50 years, not greatest.

Problem with that is that some people dont like opera.. to one mans ears opera singers have the best voice, but to anothers, guys like Freddie Mercury and Axl Rose have the best voices..

Its all in opinion.. thats yours, i have mine, i choose to hear axl over any opera singer.

To have a list like this without Geoff Tate or Mike Patton is kinda a joke.  What are they basing it off of.  Also for the person who said they dont like Opera, I hate to break it to you but its pretty much the measuring stick that other forms are compared to.  No one has larger ranges or are trained to sing with their head voice the notes that guys like Axl have to belt.  Thats why rock singers and belters voices always are having problems because the belting destroys it.  IF this list is on who can hit the most notes, hold notes longest, stay on key etc... then someone who can sing opera would definitely be at the top.
