no steven???

that sucks! was really hoping he would be part of every show the rest of the way.

It would have been cool to see Steven perform two songs at every gig from here out, but I thought that was pretty unlikely, even after the Nashville concert. Even so, I think the chances of Steven performing again on this leg of the tour are way better than Izzy showing up.

I just found a decent video ("November Rain") from last night's gig: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44S00A7ae2M

Just want to chime in, in reference the previous shows thread:

All the scopes sounded good again tonight.  Even the ones from further away (though voodooboogaloo's was probably the best!) sounded good.  None of the "muddle" from the previous show!

Funny how they gonna end the show around the same time it used to begin lol. Axl has barely spoke today... 11:30pm curfew must be true... Foxboro is 11:15 I think...

Yup, 11:15.  Used to be a soft cap of 11:15 (fines) and a hard cap of midnight (pull the plug).  Apparently that changed a few years back.  That's beyond stupid, and really limits the usefulness of the stadium.  Also stupid that Tswift gets a 25 min extension last year, but GnR couldn't get one this year.

The people of Foxboro, which is in the middle of NOWHERE, just floor me.  That stadium brings millions of dollars to a little podunk down, both in terms of business revenue and tax revenue.  And yet, they bitch about EVERYTHING.  They even bitch about Monday Night football games, for the "noise and traffic" and the municipality actually listens to them.  Ughhhh......

I see that argument on paper.  But neither of us live there.

If we did, and had to deal with excessive late night noise, thousands of drunk idiots pissing on your lawn and leaving ther garbage all over, and so forth...we might feel differently.

Even more so if you give no fucks about football.  I happen to love it, but not everyone does.

^ Agree. It may be overwhelming to have huge events every now and then.

Mark Bussler from Classic Game Room was there?  Wish I could have seen him.  He's one of the few local bloggers I'd love to meet.  I missed Adler, but I was so excited to see this new lineup.  I waited since the early 1990s to see Slash, Axl, and Duff play on stage together, and thank god I lived long enough to see it happen.  Keeping fingers crossed we will see more awesome GNR news in the coming months.
Yeah, Mark was really excited to see Coma and Patience there.
Thanks for the videos. Your phone worked just fine there. You do seem to have a weird sense of when starting to record, tho. Grin

Nope.  Sorry.  Then vote with your pocketbook, agree to take on a higher property tax burden, and move.

If you move to a town that supports tourism, you sort of deal with the tourists (aka Orlando) and all the good and bad they bring.  The stadium has been there for-fucking-ever.  It's not like when you bought your house, you didn't know it was there, at this point.

When you live in a town who's lifes blood is basically a stadium....because, honestly, otherwise this is a stop in the middle of the woods...much like Ledyard and the Casino's in CT....you deal with the shit, while reaping the benefits, of that.  It basically IS the town industry. There's 17k resident there. That's it.  The actual attendance at the GnR show will likely MORE THAN DOUBLE the number of people in town that night.  For a pats game, it almost QUADRUPLES it.

The "get off my lawn" mentality of people who will bitch about the thing that is keeping their property taxes down (they pay a bit less then 2/3 what I pay in a similarly sized, middle of nowhere, town, with one single huge taxpayer (home depot)) and funding their towns infrastructure just floors me.  And it's not a "once in awhile" thing.  The residents complaining ALL THE TIME about anything that goes past 9 PM at the stadium.  I have a friend who lives and works in town...has for about 15 years since he left New Haven.  He says the town meetings usually are about 30% bitch fest about the stadium.  That's just.....seriously?

Anyway, this is WAY off topic, but....had to vent.

Edit: By the by...the municipality employs people, the day after the events, to do clean up along the most traffic-ed corridor.  Including any detrius found on "people's lawns".  So you might wake up to find garbage on your lawn, but it won't be there long.  And that's ALL funded by the split tax rate (with, basically, the stadium (not on the land the actual stadium is on, to be clear, but through other means and methods), and surrounding businesses, are the primary payer of the higher rate) discrepancy.  So the stadium and those benefitting from it are basically paying for the clean up of your lawn, too.

Apparently the only reason she was granted the extra late curfew was because it was a weekend. If GNR were playing Friday or Saturday they would've gotten the 11:40 curfew.

I am a 30ish minute drive from the Stadium (a few towns over)... The pisser in this whole conversation is that for a large segment of the town, the stadium was there first. Sure there are older residents who bought their homes prior to 1971, but Foxboro is a popular town with younger commuters due to it's placement almost halfway between Boston and Providence. This is a NIMBY argument except they bought in Robert Kraft's back yard...

The extreme concert displeasure though comes from Country Fest and a few random louder rock shows and festivals gone wrong (Like the old WBCN River Rave that was there a few times). A few local girls were killed leaving Country Fest's tailgate (even though they didn't have tickets to the show).

Around the stadium, proper..pretty much.  There's some residential, though, between the stadium and the major (or not so major) ways to get there and back to various points in CT/MA/RI.

I've been there a BUNCH, for both shows and games.  It can get a little loud and rowdy at times, but I've never actually seen anything destructive occur.  And 5 min in any direction and you're pretty much in the woods.....

Yeah, we go 84 to 90 to 495 coming from CT.

The problem is, post event, a lot of people shoot up 140 (via North St) to get to 95. Thats MOSTLY residential.  It LOOKS longer, but it's a quicker run when there's so much traffic trying to get on 495 because less people use it.  That gets you a straighter shot to Boston and RI

I take 140 to 106 to get in and out of there... If you are in the club seats you have your own exit that leaves the back of the stadium and misses Rt 1 all together. That goes directly into a residential neighborhood (actually it's a straight shot to where Chandler Jones was wandering the streets high on synthetic weed). Also if you cross Rt 1, a large amount of parking is on that other side and is where a significant amount of tailgating happens, that also directly abuts residential neighborhoods. I still think they are being whinny pussies, but they are closer to the stadium than you would think.

It sucks that Steven wasn't there, but apparently he was spotted on a plane back to L.A. after the last show he did.  It's obvious that's why they're not announcing his presence in advance, since he won't be at every show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJS4LXi-QgA

Despite this, other reports expect him to return for future shows.

What an amazing night in Pittsburgh. Came down from Canada for this one since we couldn't make the Toronto date.  The downtown looks incredible, everyone we met were incredibly friendly, and the band was AMAZING!! This was easily the best concert experience of my entire life.

I'm still in shock at how incredible it was.
