i guess the fact that buckethead has left would mean the show was off but if he left so long ago maybe there is hope that the record is or has been worked on. i think fink is plenty good so if its fink fortus axl and some other dude on drums i think we are still in good shape for lisboa.

When we found out Paul Tobias had left, Richard had already joined the band.

I don't think it's impossible to get a replacement if they need one before RIR4.

Also, Gilby had to learn a lot of songs in a short time when he joined in 1991.

True..

And how long ago did that guy at the Bucket show say "no buckets at GNR?"

A while ago.. Buckets could have been gone a while now, and a replacement already found  Huh

Only this time he only needs to learn 6, if they continue with the same lame ass setlist...

Gilby will be fine...

Exactly, and if the story is true, GN'R knew already after Philly that Buckethead wanted to leave, so why bother to book RIR4 if they knew they're not gonna be there?

U could say the same about the aborted tour...why go on tour to cancel half way through???

Maybe they booked in RIR4 after the tour/after Bucket left, knowing who the replacement is and that it'll all be cool?

They never confirmed they would be at RIR..

It always surprised me that the date was never confirmed by Sanctuary/ Geffen officially (not via Mysteron -- I trust him but they can tell him whatever they want, when they know they don't have to be quoted on MTV.com or anything)...Supposedly Bucket took his decision around dec. 2003...the Rio-Lisboa date was confirmed (in the RIR's camp) on dec. 6, if I'm not mistaken...which means Bucket might already have told Axl he was leaving at the time. It will be different but I'm pretty sure Robin and Richard can handle that, they're good guitar players. I'm more concerned about Brain leaving (which is very likely).

As for Lisboa, keep your fingers crossed gunners! Smiley

I think they know about RIR, it's not another Hungarian "show" where the tickets were sold at some mall and the RIR organizers wouldn't advertise GN'R unless there was a contract.

I agree 100 percent they know about it.. much like i think they did know about the 2001 tour.. but if they dont speak about it or ever mention it they dont have to go or defend thier not going...

that way it can all dependi on how the red head feels that day...

Buckethead became fed up with GUNS' inability to complete an album or tour and stopped working the group late last year, his manager said.

and if indeed GNR did confirm the'd do RIR 4 on Dec 6th.  That means Bucket left right around the time they confirmed that.....now the question is what happened first?.....did bucket leave then it was confirmed as a plan was already in place to replace him?  Or did they confirm it..hoping it would be enough to keep Bucket around...only to find out it wasn't...this may also help explain why GNR has not confirmed there appearance at RIR4 themselves.

Unfortunately, I believe the 2nd option more likely.

You never they might have a replacement for BH already. No one ever knows what's going on with Guns N' Roses. Rock In Rio would be a great place to show off a new member and album.  Cool We might not get any news intill May around RIR.

I'm sure everything will work out just fine.  Smiley

I'm just wondering what about all the part BH did on the album.  Undecided

you still have hope?..... Huh

Based on Axl's previous history..he's no doubt deleted all of BH's work and is currently re-recording them himself with the aid of Gary Sunshine Smiley
