Your sense isn't making any...

OK, before I get into the reason for my post let me say this is the 1st time I've started a thread and if this is seen to be redundant to existing threads, I apologize.  Do what you will, moderators.

............

I believe that this band is over.

Having said that, I think the only way we'll get new music from Axl Rose is if the Greatest Hits sells fairly well.   Of course, the sales will not affect Axl but if the record co. sees that Gnr product will sell then they will do anything in their power to release additional music.   At some point,  and this may well be what is happening right now, Geffen will recognize that Axl will not willingly release anything.

However, the fact we have now that they have advanced more than $10 million will be a very convincing argument for any judge.   This company will want a return on their investment and they will get it.   Axl will only win court cases for which he has a valid argument.   Based on other similar cases ( Don Henley, George Michael, Courtney Love)  I can only predict that Axl will be let go from his contract but likely will not get to take any recordings made on Geffen's dime.

If Geffen sees, or hears, material that will sell they will hold on to it.   They would LOVE to release a box set or whatever.   They won't sell or give it to Axl unless it's very incomplete and Geffen sees no commercial viability.   This, to me, is the real question:  Is there anything to release?  We, as fans, have no proof one way or the other.   Various musicians, studio people, hangers-on, etc. etc. etc. have commented one way or the other.

This, like everything Axl, will be settled in the courts.   Buying Greatest Hits can only help us as fans in hearing additional music.   The more it sells, the more Geffen will be motivated to fight to release whatever recordings have been (mostly) completed.

Of course, we know that Axl, Slash, and Duff are all against this release so if you feel you should support them,  then don't buy it.

But if you really wanna hear anything Axl has done over the last 11 years,  you will put aside those feelings and buy this album...even if you don't want it.

ill buy the album.. I know the members dont consider it an "official release"..

   (BUT)

I have alot of Unofficial releases...
every show from the 2001/2002 tours are unofficial...

but i take what i can get... if they kept (me the joe public fan) happy with singles, and releases and a way for me to support the band i wouldnt have to buy unofficial releases...

Do you work for Geffen grumpy?  Roll Eyes

Buying it will just send the message that it's ok to diss the fans by releasing a subpar compilation complete with spelling mistakes.  That's right!  Yours for only $12.95!

Added bonuses: NONE!
Approved by the band:  duh, of course not.

the real question:  Is there anything to release?  We, as fans, have no proof one way or the other.

Exactly - so why buy GH again?  Roll Eyes
