We'd never have had a set of classic riffs and solos either I don't think...as guitar players go, Tracii's very good, but he stays within the realm of typical Sunset Strip guitarists...

Rumoured to be i mean. Yes, he's a bandplayer. Not a single input like david gilmour(pinkfloyd guitar) slash or buckethead.

Recently, Guns N' Roses has been the object of several tributes, more or less successful. For example, the tribute-album Appetite For Reconstruction. Have you heard it?

I have an interesting anecdote to tell you on this topic : one day, a barman in New-York told me how much he loved Guns N' Roses and asked a friend to buy Appetite for destruction for him so I could autograph it. When the friend came back, he handed me this Appetite for reconstruction that you mentioned.

I hallucinated when I took a look at the credits and realised that all the washed-up has-beens of the West Coast, the losers, the ex-somebodys were all gathered on this shitty record ! (laughs)

Even Tracii Guns plays on most of the tracks. Fuck, this album is basically the record all these guys dreamed of making one day ! So I didn't even bother listening to these covers. It can only be crap anyway. It's really fucked up. I don't feel honored or flattered whatsoever. It's all about money.

Also, I never said Guns and Clarke contributed to AFD, even though Tracii claims he did, I just think it would be cool if those guys came back.  Both were former members of GNR and you know that Slash and company are never going to come back.

The slash solo stuff had to three really good songs on the albums but that was it. It wasn't any good imo. The vr album sounds to now far more intresting than anythinh i've heard lately in the world of rock. With the exeption of the brides. The best part is slash's guitar work, the vocals are... hm well But it works on set me free though

Those new songs by axl is kinda like potent stuff but you never fucking know how this stuff will sound as a studiorecording.

I think all of you who say shit about SLASH are simply - sad,  to say the least!
You shouldn't call yourself GNR fans either,  cause most of the stuff why you say 'you like GNR' wasn't done by some Bucket dude or whatever their names are,  but by SLASH.
I don't think SLASH needs to wish for anything,   he is aware he is one of the best guitar players in the music history and he doesn't give damn what you or Axl think.
If you think SLASH 'wishes',  why do you like GNR then?
He was the lead guitar on all official GNR albums you have at home.
Go a head and listen to someone else who 'wishes' less.
Remember,  Bucket WISHED he was SLASH!
As for SNAKEPIT albums,   I think they are both great.
Funny,  if SLASH is such a nobody,  why does he have 5/6 of the GNR members around him from the era you guys claim to like GNR?
DUFF,  MATT,  IZZY and SLASH are friends.   Gilby played in first SNAKEPIT...
Finally,  keep in mind,   both SNAKEPIT albums are far better than any Axl record since 93!     And will,  most probably,  remain so forever...

Brent Muscat of Faster Pussycat fame, Keri Kelly formely of Slash's Snakepit made up for Tracii's absence when they came to the UK several months back so since Brides are touring supporting their album i can see no reason for him to be playing with them

Stacey Blades is the lead guitarist now. Keri and Brent just did 5 shows as a favor before the band hired Stacey.

no no no, Ultimate is rerecordings from 2000. Do yourself a favor and get the originals, "La Guns" and "Cocked and Loaded". You'll be much better off

Tracii quit his own band because he gave too much control to Phil Lewis and Steve Riley. Phil rejoined in 1999 after they went thru 3 replacement singers. Jizzy and ralph were good but Phil is what makes La Guns, La Guns. Tracii's replacement Stacey Blades is really good, I saw them back in march and they were really good.

No one currently in the band has played on all the records. Steve joined after the first record and wasnt on 2 more in the 90's. Phil was out for 5 years between 95 and 99 while 3 others were done with 3 different vocalists. Bassit Adam Hamilton played on the last 2 albums, Waking the Dead and the first album without Tracii "Rips off the Covers"

Tracii and Axl considated there bands Hollywood Rose and La Guns into GNR featuring Axl, Tracii, Izzy, Rob Gardener and I think Duff played Bass, I'm not 100% sure on that. (I don't think Duff joined after Slash and Steven did as the BTM leads you to believe)

"In 1983, Tracii Guns started LA Guns with Axl. Ole Beich played bass and Rob Gardner drums."

"January,1984 - Later Izzy leaves the band to play in London and Axl sings in LA Guns."

Its intresting to note that at one time or another London had - Nikki Sixx, Slash, Izzy and Blackie Lawless all playing in it. Also this Ole Beich guy has played in LA Guns and then later the very first brief Gn'R - yet knobody knows anything about him. Hes probably somewhere out there knowing full well he at one time played in the greatest rock band ever!

No, Duff joined before Slash and Steven. From the history section of this site again -

"March 26th, 1985 - A flyer for a show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles says "L.A Guns and Hollywood Rose presents the band Guns N' Roses". The band's line-up is: Axl, Izzy, Tracii Guns, Ole Beich and Rob Gardner.
The band calls themselves Guns N' Roses (they rejected the names Heads Of Amazon and AIDS).

Later Duff joins the band and the lineup looks like this:

It's hard to figure out exact dates for things since it seems bands formed, then split, re-formed, somebody quit, was replaced, came back etc....  

But I think Duff joined before Steven and Slash.
