« on: May 21, 2004, 05:20:08 AM »

I was just wondering if anyones thinking like I am and that is the album is already done.  Seems like everyone else in the band are doing their own shit right now.  To me it sounds like everyone is done with their parts of the album.  I'm also thinking Axl has some kinks with lawsuits and hes waiting to clear everything up, before he lets go of it and tours.  Or maybe since Bucket left he wants someone else to record his parts.  Who knows.

Im thinkin' it has alot to do with vocals, when i hear songs like Chinese Democracy  you can imagin what Axl's voice is gonna be like on the album, one being really deep n' one really high.  Like 14 years..."sometimes these women are so easy..."
it's gonna be cool yes yes

There's no doubt in my mind that the album is finished, there are just a lot of minor details to be worked out in various areas (legality, promotion, etc.)

For me he is still working on the lyrics. I remember an old interview (around the 2002 tour if I'm not wrong) that he said he opted to create the music and later add the lyrics. They did it in Oh  My God for example. And in my opinion the lyrics are great.

i think you have a couple of very good points there

anhow to answer the thread
yes i have thought that
i have also thought that while these 'details' are being worked on Axl may be taking the opportunity to keep working on it

know what i mean?

until the copies are all pressed....  which they wouldn't do til its ready to go...  which won't hapen until the details are finalized..  i think its like 'why not'...

i have that type of personality
until something is out of my hands i will keep thinking of things to add or change to make it better...

anyhow.. just another thought
that yeah it could be finished but while the details are being worked on axl's finishing it more   Grin

The rest of the band probably finished recording their parts a long time ago. Brain said he finished his parts 2 years ago, and he said that about a year ago. So 3 years.

Agreed.

I bet if BH hadn't left we would have got a release date around the time of RIR4.

BH chickened out at the last minute.

No one has any idea if the album is done or not, we can only assume things, people said around the 2002 VMA's that the album was done or very close to being finished well it's 18 months later and we still arent sure.

I'll speculate the recordings are done and that all that is left is for axl to lay the vocal tracks, and i think BH departure was caused by his waiting around for axl to put his vocals on and release the album, but i'm only guessing.

I've been wondering since the rio cancellation with Buckethead gone what happens with his guitar tracks he recorded for Chinese Democracy? Can Guns N' Roses legally release his parts? Can they legally re-record his parts? What do all of you think?

PS I hope they don't have to start from scratch!!!! nervous

I was gonna start a thread on this exact topic.

What if Bucket wants to keep his creative contributions? Axl said they have all contributed ideas and worked on the music as a band, although he is the czar and everything goes through him .

What if Bucket was proud of his parts, and winds up putting the same stuff on one of his albums. We all know he's been keen on putting out a new album once in a while.

Axl wouldn't want this obviously, and if it came to it, the songs may be changed around completely, and yes, rerecorded.

Mabey the stuff he's working out now, as he mentioned has a lot to do with this. It could be bad news...

I think the album is instrumentally done, but Axl hasn?t finished the vocals, which is probably the reason of why Buckethead quit.
And now Axl will probably want to take BH out of the record. And there we will have a new excuse for the not-realising  of the CD.

The answer probably lies in Axl's statement, the part about BH's departure speeding up the album release. What the fuck did he mean???
