I wish he wouldn't do his rants. I thought they were funny when I first heard them, but now I think it makes him sound paranoid.
But, while we're here my favorite quote from his rants is "I tried acting nice, and that winded up fu%king me right up the ass." I have no idea what he is talking about specifically, but it is a cool quote.

Well, it appears that we're gonna have an interesting evening.... You see, the city council and the promoters say we have to like end the show. And they'll say that I'm, they could say maybe I'm inciting a riot. Now I'm not, 'cause I don't want anyone to get arrested or anyone to get in trouble or anything like that. But I think we got a good seven or eight fuckin' songs left at least. And I didn't fuckin' come all the way over to fuckin' England to be told to go back fuckin home, by some fuckin' asshole! All I've got for the last eight years is shit after shit after shit in the fuckin' press and Axl's this, Axl's that. I'm here to play a fuckin' show and we wanna play! So, if you wanna stay, I wanna stay and we'll see what happens. Everybody... Nobody try to get in trouble or anything. Try to have a good time.

I was looking for a specific Axl rant and I ran across this article.

Side Notes: When rock stars attack
By Geoff Harkness
Thursday, April 12, 2001
Sometimes there's nothing better than a live recording. Not only do they feature in-concert renditions from music's great (and not so great) artists, but the best ones also reveal something about the true nature of these performers. Of course, it's in-between the grooves where the real revelations occur. When rock stars dust off their speaking voices and orate from the stage, the results are usually nothing less than hysterical. Some of the best live recordings (usually unauthorized ones) contain pompous introductions, casual asides and raging rants that would make Lenin sound like Lennon. While much of today's stage patter is planned out and rehearsed, unintentional moments still occur.
Recently none other than Britney Spears was caught with her mike down, cursing and swearing like a one-woman army barracks at a concert in Rio. It seems the teen sensation had just come offstage and her backing band was supposed to continue playing ? keeping the crowd hyped ? until Spears returned for a grand finale encore. Unfortunately, the band stopped, infuriating America's Sweetheart, whose headset microphone was accidentally left on, broadcasting her rant to the audience and over the world's airwaves.
"Don't tell me they're just letting the audience (expletive) stand out there like that," she whines. "Oh my God. This is retarded. They told me they were going to do a vamp. Oh (expletive)! Oh no! What are they doing?" Soon after "Britney Swearing" became one of Napster's most sought-after tracks.
Britney's blunder is just part of a long legacy of musicians who let fly on and offstage with little regard to the consequences. Though many credit Jim Morrison's acid-and-whiskey-fueled ramblings as foundational, it was really Elvis Presley who pioneered the art of the prattle. During the final years of his career, Presley would drift into unbearably long-winded in-concert pontifications, most of which were all but incoherent. During these shows, the singer would stop and start numbers, break down laughing in the middle of them and banter endlessly to himself.
In fact, this aspect of Presley's concerts was so notorious that RCA Records actually released a long-out-of-print LP of the singer's sloppy soliloquies, appropriately titled "Having Fun With Elvis Onstage." The record contains nearly 45 sidesplitting minutes of the King at his toasty finest, mumbling and stammering in a sleepy daze. Though the record is culled from a number of live concerts, there isn't a single song to be found. Instead there's Presley giving lengthy descriptions of the tassels on his jumpsuit and making off-color jokes.
"I am the NBC Peacock," he declares at one point to no one in particular. The audience couldn't care less, adoringly applauding his every slurry murmur.
After Presley passed on, ranters and ramblers became more scarce, cropping up at the occasional drunken George Jones or Hank Williams Jr. concert. Fortunately, an attitude-ridden band from Los Angeles brought the rant back to life in 1987.
Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses is the reigning king of the present-day rant,
...
putting the bully back in bully pulpit. In his prime, Rose would stop concerts for tens of minutes to berate audiences, castigate his band members or complain about being persecuted in the press. During GNR's 1991 world tour, the embittered singer raged against every machine out there, attacking alternative music, St. Louis, local police departments, parking attendants, magazine editors, the constitution, his own family and Nirvana, a frequent target.
"Kurt Cobain's a (expletive) junkie with a junkie wife," he screeches during a Dallas concert. "And if the baby's born deformed, I think they both oughta go to prison, that's my feeling. He's too good and too cool to bring his rock 'n' roll to you, because the majority of you he doesn't like or want to play to."
Axl's rants are so legendary they've attained cult status on Napster, with fervent fans trading and decoding them at length. Courtney Love, Eddie Vedder and even Dave Matthews also can be found bitching, whining and raving drunk on the virtual airwaves, but Axl remains king. Though naysayers have written Rose off in recent years, he was in rare form at this year's Rock In Rio concert, demanding his own interpreter before bemoaning the Internet ("a big garbage can"), the local press (Rose names names) and anyone who doesn't show props to the new GNR. (Hilariously, Axl adopts a faux Jamaican accent when addressing any foreign crowd.)
Though Axl may never get around to doing a proper tour with GNR again, devilish fans have kept the spirit of his rants alive.
perhaps Napster will be shut down some day or (more likely) be turned into a moneymaking machine. Still, there's little doubt that raving rock stars will continue to spew verbal gems in concert and that someone in the audience will be recording every syllable.
haha!

okay here's the one I was looking for...
Albany 2002
"Now I was uh, perusing. I was reading all about my integrity, cause that's what I'm known for I guess; selling out my integrity. That's why I'm here with you now, cause I just don't give a fuck at this. Yeah, that's why we worked real hard at this, that's why these guys worked real hard at being in a band that they can get abused for, 'because they're the guys in the way of stopping the old band of getting together'. That's horseshit . I'm not trying to bum anybody out, but, you know, I was thinking about it. I'm pretty blunt so people get real pissed. And I haven't done a lot of talking on this tour. I'll shut up real soon don't worry. You know, I tried acting nice and that just ends up fucking me right up the ass. They take advantage of that. 'Axl said something nice so how can we use that to our advantage?' The truth is they didn't want to be here for you at this level and they don't want to take it farther. I mean, that's their business right? But not at my expense or yours. You've been played. You've been lied too. You've been used. You've been manipulated so that they can ride around in limos and jam with Snoop Dogg or whoever the fuck. Y'know,I don't care, that's their business. But they shouldn't really do it at your expense or mine. Now as soon as I say this it'll be on an MP3, someone will transcribe it , and the next person will say 'Can you believe Axl said that? I mean my god. I mean he hasn't put out a record. I don't know why he would say that. I mean who does he think he is? That's not very nice. The other guys, they have gotten over it and they're his friend now and they're willing to be his friend and he just needs to grow up'. I'm sorry. I'm a little bit more blunt. I mean Slash may sound like a De La Hoya, but he's the fuckin Vargas . That's just how it is. And just because he's got a bunch of guys agreeing doesn't mean shit. The truth is that they're a bunch of bad cops and I'm the fuckin Serpico and they can 'suck my dick'!
'You know without Axl and Slash we wouldn't have November Rain and
Estranged'. Well you don't know what the fuck I went through to get that guy to play those songs. You don't know about the argument we had at A&M studios, because Duff and Slash came to me going 'We're not gonna do that song, we're not gonna do this song, no, no, we're just not gonna do it'. But I wanna do it. We'll do it right now. This song is called 'patience'."

I thought his rants were pretty cool. sometimes a bit silly, but hey at least they were original and gave a break from the music another sort of entertainment, a light hearted chuckle-good on him

The ones transcribed here are really good rants, but howewer, whenever Axl opens his mouth to the crowd, people call it a "rant", because "that's what Axl do".
Axl can talk about how much he enjoys something or even thank the crowd for coming and some people say "oh yeah, Axl's at it again".
For all it's worth, I wish Axl could rant a whole lot more. I want more of his thoughts and ideas and how he looks at everything that has happened and still happen.
And some of them...especially during 2002 were hilarious. He used a certain irony during some rants that some rather stupid people don't understand. He was happy and gladly had some fun.

here's a edited one, it's not a rant but...
theres been some concern that if we play five or six new songs then there can't be many more on the album, we're just playing the songs we're not concidering putting out on cd or anything, so you get 18 songs and about 10 extra tracks, and when the recordcompany feels that that has run it's course then you'll get it all over again, and by that time i should be done with the third album
from london, download it man and hear the full talk, it's a bit funny
