OK to all of you who have his albums, well I was thinking of getting an Izzy album finally, but which one is the best one to get first?

I only have two Izzy albums......the Ju Ju Hounds album is prob. an all round better album than 117* but 117* has  4-5 great tunes which are as good as or better than the Ju Ju Hounds best.  There both cool chilling disks  smoking

His first album with the Ju Ju Hounds and the second, 117 is the ones that stands out. The last three "Ride On", "River" and "On Down The Road" is pretty similar but I think I like "Ride On" best of those. But River has also some great moments, the two reagge numbers not to forget.

Ju Ju Hounds has the Rolling Stones sound and vibe, 117 degrees has the UYI vibe of Izzy's songs. You pick Wink

As most of the others I have to recommend "Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds". It is the only one of his records that is really good. The rest range from almost ok to pretty good.
Maybe he saved some material when he knew he would quit Guns?Huh?

I'd start off with Ju Ju Hounds, but since Izzy's albums are so rare, I'd buy whatever you can find. I think I like Ride On the best, but they are all very good. Also, try amazon.com to buy some of his CDs.

gotta say that my favourite izzy album is on down the road (sweet caress is great), but you should really start off with izzy stradlin' and the ju-ju hounds. To be honest though all the albums are very good and pretty rare so buy what you can when you can.

Nope, he said that all of his songs on Ju Ju Hounds where written afterwards...

Train Tracks was written many years before... and yes the rest afterwards.
Like most of You I would choose Ju Ju Hounds from beginning... I started with Ride On & River but these aren't the best album in his discography  Smiley

Yeah, Tracks was written in 1988 or 1989 so in GN'R period but as unfinished song... In December 1991 Iz wrote the rest of it and than finished it with Jimmy when he came to Lafayette to join Izzy with writing the stuff.
Damn... I really would like to see this unreleased Train Tracks video  Undecided

The only izzy solo video i've seen is for shuffle it all (there's a beavis and butthead intro too which is cool.). Has izzy got any other videos?

p.s. I know Izzy was makin a video for one song for Like a Dog.... I'm sure it is unreleased? Smiley

Since it was years ago when I saw it, it's kinda hard to say what exactly was in it.

I think it was live footage.

JuJu Hounds and 117 degrees are really tight.  The rest are all good too, but the first two are the best.   beer

I had it a few years back and lost it too. Was pretty good; he really seemed relieved to be clean.

I was always happy that izzy got out cos it seemed he wouldn't have lasted much longer the way he was going as i don't think he could handle it at all.

I only have the Ju Ju Hounds and 117* but I love both to death, I learned a handful of songs from each of them on guitar. I was so proud.

of course i do care about the other bands but shit , vr and gnr and 355465 different projects and solos by ex-guitarists of the ex-guitarists..fuck it man

I just didn't see the point in making an Izzy Stradlin site and filling it with shit about GNR/VR that is already available. Theirs too many GNR/VR sites out their already.

Besides, Izzy quit 14 years ago - their shouldnt be any news regarding GNR that includes him lol.
