Here are some photos I took from the VR gig on Wednesday at the Hordern Pavillion, Sydney. The gig was great, venue holds around 7 thousand but security told us they put a limit to 5000 something for the show.

I lined up at 2pm (doors open 7:30pm!) and joined a few other people waiting all day in the hot sun. I got front row centre stage, the crowd was really wild, wildest gig i've ever been to. Slash actually commented that it was the wildest crowd that VR have played so far. Scott was awesome. So rock star and cool. The DVDs just don't do it justice. I'm sure a lot of people out there thinks he looks 'gay' on stage etc, hell I even did, but his style is unique and gets the crowd going, just like Axl used to. Scott came out with his usual black jeans, white buttoned shirt, red tie, jacket, glasses and hat.. looked like the ultimate rock star! Eventually losing the tie, buttons on the shirt and them most of the gig in the black jeans. During Sucker Train Blues, Scott sat on the centre speaker right above me and looked down directly at me whilst singing and I got a smile from Duff when he looked down and saw me singing hard! Very cool! I caught Matt's drum stick at the end but got it taken from me right after.

Scott dedicated Do It For The Kids for everyone who "loves to fuck" and gave the megaphone a good workout during the show. Matt did a bit of a drum solo and surprisingly the band did a couple of extended GN'R Illusion era style solos in the middle of a song (can't remember which song) including some electronic effects by Scott and some talk box action from Slash.

Will post more pics soon.

Yep, the photo links are working now mate! ok

That would've been in the middle of Illegal I.

They also played extended versions of Slither, Set Me Free and Slash did some short acoustic stuff before You Got No Right.

Damn! I hope someone was shooting footage of that for a future DVD or something, it sounds like the kind of thing people would pay to see, an extremely energetic crowd, extended versions of songs, etc.

...I just saw the news talk about a riot in Sydney, and for I moment I thought, "Cool! The news is going to show VR." But it was caused by some out of control police or something.

One of most important gauges of a show's successfullness may be the number of topless girls. Lots?

It doesn't sound like VR was playing any new songs they were working on. I guess we'd have to wait for them to finish touring so they can work on some.

Well apparently there was a film crew there. On both sides of the stage was some guys with proper filming cameras. I didnt see em but people told me they saw em.
