(remembers Robin Finck is now lead guitarist)

From what we heard so far Finck has done a lot more work on the new songs than Buckethead.

So you should stop bitching...err crying.

I'll admit to being a bit of a pessimist as to it's success.  But (like most self-centerd americans) I was really referring to the American market.  Hopefully it will do as well as it did in Ireland.  But I'm reserving my pessimism.

I was watching watching Top Of The Pops on BBC1 last night and that MTV guy who presents it was talking about the album chart and he said "blah blah... will the Vines or Guns N' Roses be able to knock Katie Melua off the top spot?"

I nearly choked on my tea.  Shocked

See GN'R still can rule the world and it looks good for Axl as well maybe his confidence has boosted with the record sales its gotta mean something I still do think Chinese Democracy will come out just because Buckethead has left does not mean the end. Izzy left after recording the Illusion stuff and got a new guitarist Gilby its quite similar to that if you think about.

I heard him mention GN'R on totp's too!

Hopefully, the chances of GN'R performing in Ireland will be improved by the albums success in the charts.......Hopefully

wonder how many it will sell in america? i think it will go to #1, also check out the sales rank on amazon, #35, that sounds pretty good and it was 38 when i checked it a couple of minutes ago, also most of the cd's ahead of it have been out for awhile.

Nice but I'm more worried about what GH will do in America. I'd rather be buying something NEW!

Us Irish have great taste in music.

Dam right, Perhaps this will compensate for Louis Walsh and westlife and the horrendous you're a star.

Are the songs the edited single versions? I realise they are edited for content (i.e. Ain't it Fun, and Since I Don't Have You), but I'm wondering if they are the shortened radio versions?

It has officially reached number 2 in the UK charts.  Which is brilliant. Just proves to all those doubters who thought it would be the biggest mistake.

This is a release from a band that has had the world against it from day one.  This has had no promotion from the band, non of the usual tv appearences (ever in the uk) not even support from the original GN'R.  Has just been sold on the name and the music those guys created more than 10 years ago.

Not many people could do that.  It's easy to forget how huge GN'R were.

......But i swear if i see some snotty kid wearing a Darkness t-shirt and GNR gear there will be war lol

No2 in the UK and No. 1 in Ireland. Very good so far!

no doubt the two GN'R weeks on Kerrang have helped.

It also goes to show you how much of an asset the GN'R name is to him and to the bands future sales.

Geffen should release a video containing old footage of the band. That should make the charts explode!!!!!
