I hope they will be around California for awhile. I'm going to San Diego 10 days after that show for the World Baseball Championships. I would love to get to see the Cult also.

Unconfirmed word is they'll be doing a San Diego show on March 4th at 4th & B..

Another date has been announced for THE CULT's upcoming U.S. tour. The group's schedule is now shaping up as follows:

Mar. 04 - San Diego, CA @ House of Blues
Mar. 05 - Cabazon, California @ Key Club (at Morongo)

Tickets for the San Diego show are priced $38.00-$43.00 and go on sale January 27. More dates are expected to be announced soon.

As previously reported, THE CULT principals Billy Duffy (guitar) and Ian Astbury (vocals) recently inked a management deal with Tom Vitorino, who also represents RIDERS ON THE STORM (formerly THE DOORS 21ST CENTURY), the band featuring Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of THE DOORS with Astbury as Jim Morrison.

THE CULT are planning special product reissues and some limited gigs in 2006. However, a full-blown reunion appears to be unlikely at this point. More information will be made available soon.

Falcon, did they ever make any videos for their singles?  How did they do on MTV?  (just curious)

Falcon, I actually have a few buddies flying from Atlanta for one of the shows. He emails all their updates. He's a big fan like you. Sometimes it is good getting older-you have money to do things. Of course, he doesn't have a kid holding him back like myself. beer

Falcon, did they ever make any videos for their singles?? How did they do on MTV?? (just curius)

They did well on MTV's specialty shows 120 Minutes and Alternative Nation with all the singles/vids
while the video for "Fire Woman" was in rotation during regular programming.

Here's a list of vids for the singles from 84-95, taken from the "Pure Cult" DVD Anthology

Spiritwalker - live on The Tube
Go West - live at The Lyceum
Resurrection Joe
She Sells Sanctuary
Rain
Revolution
Love Removal Machine
Lil? Devil
Wild Flower
Fire Woman
Edie (Ciao Baby)
Sweet Soul Sister
Sun King - live at Pinkpop
Wild Hearted Son
Heart Of Soul
The Witch
Coming Down
Star

A vid for 2000's "Painted On My Heart" from the "Gone In 60 Seconds" soundtrack was made as well as for the single "Rise" from 2001's "Beyond Good And Evil". ?Both got airplay on MTV and VH1.

Here a link to quite a few of the vids courtesy of VH1.com

I saw them at the Tabernacle a few years back when Sorum first got back in the group. Then, saw them again at Music Midtown a few years later I believe. Always a rocking show. I'm not a huge fan but I always have a great time at their shows-alot of classic songs.

The Tab show was in '99, Cult Risng Tour, all the hits.

Music Midtown was smokin', I've got a boot of that show.  Headlined Friday night if I'm not mistaken, like 50,000 in attendance.

Cheap Trick played before or after the Cult and Jerry Cantrell played as well that night. Three great rock acts in a row...if I'm not mistaken. It was packed. A friend of mine got up in to the 96rock tent while Ian and Matt were giving a radio interview-shook hands with them and hung out for awhile-pretty cool guys. My money now says my boys will be going to the Vegas show-they are already clamoring about it. It was in my email box this morning.

I've had the opportunity to meet Sorum and Duffy on a few occasions, very cool guys. Never had the chance to meet Ian, he tends to stay away from they trappings of the post show environment.

Same here, all LA plans are on hold.  Vegas is top priority.

The HOB San Diego ticket listing has a new picture up for the tour. I havent seen this image before, but I am still relatively new to the Cult within the last 7 years.

Here a link to quite a few of the vids courtesy of VH1.com

http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/cult_the/videos.jhtml

Thanks a lot!  Fire Woman is so fuckin 80's - I love it!

Unless I'm mistaken, there's 4 people in the early videos.  But the VH1 site only shows 3 (Matt, Astbury & Duffy, I presume).  Who was/is the 4th guy?

I think the most interesting video, visually, is the one for Wild Hearted Son.  Is this fascination with Americana and Native Americanism solely Astbury's or does the entire band share this?   I just find it interesting that, as Brits, they have these themes in their videos.
