I'm 19... 20 on June 5th... jeez does anyone realise how scary that is!!!?

It feels like only yesterday I was 10 years old and sitting in a classroom dreaming of being 20 so I could "do whatever the hell I liked".

Don't really feel like doin' much nowadays except painting, sex and rock n' roll... with a bit of weed from time to time! Grin

so far I have all of you beat!! I'm 40.  They were so apart of my life, my partying days before settling down.  I think they are probably more a part of my life now though.

I recently turned 16 and I've been into them since the UYI days, since at the time my uncle was 16, and a huge fan. So I was about 2. Once the UYI days were over forgot who they were, then I got back into them when I saw AFD at a music store when I was 13.

Yes, Dec 91. That was the last time I saw them.  A long time ago. They were better in 88 opening for Aerosmith though!

I'm 35~ 36 in April.

I first saw GNR on Headbangers Ball (back in the day when it was good with RR). The first time I laid eyes on that gorgeous redhead I ran around town for months looking for the album until I found it in a "specialty" shop! I was the happiest geek in town! But little did I know when you purchase Appetite you bloom into a asskicking bitch! Yea Me!

27, soon 28, Found a cassette at my older cousin house in early 88, with a label that simply said "AFD" (it was a copy) No band name no nothing. Back then I dident have a clue how to find more info, so I listened to it a million times and learnt some stuff of it on guitar (I picked up the guitar because of that casette) without even knowing the bands name, member's names or anything ! I only found out around 10 months later when I saw a video on TV and recognized the song. (dont remember if it was WTTJ or SCOM). So I was a fan of GnR without even knowing they were GNR !! Wink Been a BIG fan ever since ! ?ok

I'm 23 years old, and a 6 months old gnr fan, too young to be here maybe...

I had listen to some of GNR's works years ago such as DC,NR and SCOM. The enviroment I was brought up in is not so easy to hear rock music. Once, A friend of mine, brought me some songs in mp3 format, since he love them very much, DC and NR were among them. I love most of the songs he gave me, I began to listen to RN'R. DC and NR blowed my mind, but for a long time,  I thought it's rare for a rock band to produce many good works, until I found AFD album(believe it or not, this's not so easy for me Embarrassed), I got shocked! I've never heard an album with every tracks' so amazing! I began to read GN'R boards on internet, the stories behind their music touched me most; I collects bootlegs, I love the simplly true but beatiful style of Axl's, so much. And now, I just think myself so lucky to hear good news, as I'm still a young GNR fan.

20, and been into GNR for about two years now...

Question for all the younger fans....how did you get into GNR in the first place?

Well I heard some of their stuff I remember when I was only a few years old about 4 I remember hearing SCOM on the radio...didn't really think much of it as I was only 4 and none of my family are Guns fans (Well big guns fans)

In about Summer 04 I heard Velvet Revolvers Slither on Kerrang and my bro said Slash and Duff from GN'R and I thought yeh I'll give them a listen, as I knew some of their songs already (PC, SCOM, WTTJ etc.)

Thought no better way to start than listen to Greatest Hits. Bought that listened solidly for about 3 weeks and then bought AFD, UYI 1+2, then about a month later got Lies and Live Era.

Loved em ever since.

how i got into gnr to answer someones question on the previous page.

Well i was all into the nu-metal scene like many people of my generation were. Anyways as i started to see there more than linkin park.  I got into skid row-slave to the grind, blew me away. so i was liking that alot. anyways i went round my mates...this was long before the greatest hits. He said listen to this song its called its so easy, he put it on cause he found it funny. Then i was blown away truly...then mr brownstone was on...That was it went home, asked dad if he knew of guns n roses. He gave a shocked face and said "who doesnt" got appetite i put it on and it went from there....3 years later i have all the albums, loads of rare stuff and alot of live recordings. and of course part of here today. I now have a bandana axl style lol!!!

am 28 - got into them when paradise city was released (i was pretty young!) - can remember buying my tape of AFD and listening endlessley to it. every drum beat, every breath, every strum of a guitar... i fkn loved it and this band's music meant the world to me.
though gnr never played in scotland -- so i never got to see em till 2002.  before that I must have spent all i earnt as a young teen on magazines with gnr like Metal hammer, raw, kerrang, RIP etc and getting bootleg concert tapes from other fans/record fairs.
